VSC, ABS triangle warning! Error code POA85 ... We took the car apart and basically found the error with the fan it's not working. When you connect the battery to the fan it's working perfectly. The fan motor resistor is overheating is this the problem? Or should it be very hot.
View 4 RepliesI have a 2006 with 188,000 miles. We replaced the hv battery at 155000 miles. the car has been getting lower mileage than usual, around 36 mpg, we usually get 43 to 45 on the trip to work and back. the red triangle appeared and all the other lights a couple days ago. Borrowed a code reader, not a scan gauge, and the code came up P0a85, and says the HV battery is overheating. I checked the 12v battery and it is low, at 11.7 volts. So I am replacing the 12v battery, should be here in a couple days, already replaced it once, about 4 or 5 years ago.
View 15 RepliesMy 01 Prius is not charging the 12V battery and I have error code P3001. Everyone on here said P3001 is the HV battery ECU. (which I replaced with one from the Junk Yard and still get the error code)
I charged the 12V battery over night and Autozone says that its ok. They tested it with a little machine. The only other thing I can think of is that the Inverter DC-DC converter part is bad. How I can test that? (is there a way other than replace the inverter?)

I've replaced what I thought was the fuse but not 100 percent sure. I cleared the error message and now it's still doing the random turn off. Now I'm getting an error P1000. Tried google search with very little success.
So of course it has to happen 3 weeks after my warranty expires. My CEL comes on and I have it read and the result is P0440. I find out that my wife has a habit of topping off the gas tank and so I am thinking that she has probably ruined the charcoal canister. It is something easy to replace?
I have an 06 limited edition... Yes, she will not be topping off any gas tank anymore.
My car (jetta 2002 1.8t) have the error code p0501 even if the speedo is working. I replaced the speed sensor just to make sure.
If I erase the code, and drive no matter how far/fast I go, the check light doesn't turns on. But as soon as I turn of the car and drive again it does comes on.
I own 6 Prius', 5 gen 3's one gen 2. The 2011 gen 3 I've had for the longest and its just had a battery failure due to over heating. The garage have managed to get the battery replaced under warranty but they are now telling me the reason for the overheating is due to the cabin air vent that cools the battery gets blocked. They have advised me Toyota do a replacement part that solves this problem (at cost to me, £150) He has advised me to get this done on my other generation 3's. Why are Toyota not cleaning the filter during service and why has this problem not been identified to me earlier?
View 19 RepliesI've seen lots of posts about the traction battery regarding cooling fan speeds, sensors, overheating, under charged, but is there a dash light that warns the batteries are overheating before they are damaged ? I'm worried about someone riding in the back of the car, covering the vent and causing battery damage. It is hard to see if they are covering the vents when you are sitting in the front driver seat.

View 13 RepliesI was wondering how I would charge my gen 1 battery cells and balance them with my IMAX b6 lipro battery charger. Every time I try to charge it or hook it up the thing keeps saying "input vol error". Now I don't know if that means I need a different ac adapter since I'm now using a 19.5 v laptop charger and most of the time they use a 12v ac adapter.
Most of the cells have a reading under 6v but we have 38 new cells coming in today. How we can balance them with this charger because I know it has a balance charge setting for the lithium batteries. That has a separate plug though. Should we just put the cells closest to their voltages and have them balanced that way?
I successfully replaced the HV battery on my own and it was so easy even this girl to do it! I drove the car about 300 miles when I got the triangle of death warning light again yesterday. I took my 2002 Prius to the dealer to read the codes but how to borrow a scanner (or whatever) from Autozone and do it myself.
View 19 RepliesSo from the beginning the car wasn't coming on. It gave me error "p" said my parking break was not working properly and needed to be on a flat surface in order to work. We jumped it and replaced the battery shortly after that. The car will turn on but the actual engine is not turning on. The display screen has a little car with a red exclamation going through it. The dashboard also has all the lights on. We have tried to jump it from the relay at this point but it wont start now to where before it would.

The code is P0A43 in case you missed it. Check engine and red triangle come on, or vsc when the car doesn't work. All lights we're gone when I left mechanics today, and they came back on after I turned the car off and back on at the gas station. The pump worked fine, he said. Does the transmission need replaced?
I just looked at the coolant, it is below the low mark, from what I can tell. Will filling the coolant to the full mark fix the issue? Does this code mean correcting the fluid?

I just bought a used 2008 Prius. I had my Prius inspected after buying it, and the error code C1378 appeared, which I have discerned refers to the Skid Control ECU.
There is apparently a recall for this part in 2010-2014 models, however as a 2008 I don't think I apply.
Just used Carista to switch to a single beep when reversing. Whilst I was in the app, just out of curiosity, I checked for error codes. B1423 appeared. I didn't expect to see anything as the car is brand new.

I was wondering what is the most affordable route for my car to get repaired. I don't notice any mpg differences and everything still charges and recharges as if the errors don't exist.

View 5 RepliesIts a 2009 Prius with about 75K miles on it. I have scangauge on the dash as well as mini-VCI. It is setting PO456 code time after time. I reset it, but it comes back in about 50 mils of driving. Its not the gas cap, I turn it until it clicks every time. Something is wrong with evaporative emissions system, which I wouldn't care about, except it might mask some other fault code that is more serious, as it keeps check eng. light on all the time.
