Prius (Gen 2) :: JBL No Bass Although Turned Up To Max

Dec 1, 2010

I have the bass turned up to the max but there just isn't any. I'm guessing it's broken. What to do to try and diagnose the problem? I don't know much about audio systems unfortunately.

Prius V :: Heater Fan Noise - Low Bass Sound When Turned Up

My Prius v fan for the heat started this low bass sound when it is turned up. It seems that it causes the vehicle to race! If I shut the heat fan off while parked, the vehicles takes a few seconds to return to "normal".

Gen 3 Prius (Audio/Electronics) :: 2013 - Difficult To Hear The Bass

I can hardly hear the bass on my new 2013 Prius 4, which replaced my lease of 2010 Prius 3 with Navi . both had their DSP setting at default balanced position. I thought it was because I got the base trim 4 with no addition, but my friend who just went from 2010 Prius 5 with Navi to 2013 Prius 5 with those whistle and bells felt the same on his new car.

Gen 2 Prius (Audio/Electronics) :: 2008 JBL - Bass Rattling At High Volume

Driving what was my wife's 2008 Prius, and for the most part the sound is adequate but I have a bass rattle in the doors and I'm wondering what's the best way to resolve it.

My source is my iPhone 6 via a Bluetooth add-on, and for the most part it is fine if i leave the iPhone volume level at Max minus 2-3 bars. But if the song is bass heavy and I have the JBL volume high, there is quite a bit of rattling vibration on the door (rattling panels, etc.), on all the doors.

Q: Is this something that can be resolved by adding a sub and rolling off the bass for the JBL speakers? Or does resolving it require more a sound deadening at the doors?

Prius (2010-12) :: Driver Side Door Vibrates With Any Degree Of Bass In Sound System

When there is any degree of bass in my sound system (JBL), the driver's side door vibrates or rattles. If I push against the handle with the controls on it very hard, I can dampen the sound to where it's (almost) nonexistent.

Prius (2004-09) :: Check Engine Light Turned On For A Few Hours Then Turned Off

I always take care of my car oil changes on time. And in the last week my check engine light turned on for a few hours then turned off. And today it turned on again. I kinda regret getting rid of my scan gauge now.

Touareg :: Low Bass - Hum Sound From Back Of Car At 80 MPH

Confirmed it today. Not hearing things. A very low bass like hum when the car goes over 80. Wind noise of transmission binding. What the transmission binding sounds like? Would it happen if the car was just going straight ahead with no turns?

Golf VI R :: Speaker Won't Have Bass In Cold?

Let me define cold weather. I'm talking 0˚F and into the negatives, not "I live in Georgia and it was 40˚F last night".

If the car sits outside, let's say overnight during negative temps, when I start the car the speakers don't put out any bass whatsoever. Eventually, as the interior warms up you can hear the speakers come alive and they begin to work as advertised. Is this normal? I guess I don't mind it if it is normal, I've just never experienced this in any other car I've driven. Is this some sort of self-protecting function for the speakers or car's electrical system? Just the speaker material tightening up in the cold?

Camry :: 2007 XLE - JBL System Bass Distortion

Our Camry has the premium JBL system with the amp under the passenger seat. Any song regardless of source that has a lot of bass drives both rear speakers into distortion. Treble and mid and bass settings are on zero. Even when bass is set on -2 or -3, I still hear significant distortion especially when playing something like Queen, Enya, or with a lot of bass. Problem is there whether Aux input, CD or FM. Someone suggested adjusting gain on amp. How do I do that? And isn't it a stretch to think that would make any difference? Is the amp the most likely source of the problem?

Passat (B6) :: Rear Arm Rest Rattling With Bass?

I have a sub in my passat facing the the back of the seats. When i pump up the volume the armrest rattles with the bass, really annoyed at this. Maybe the armrest needs to be opened up and filled with sponge type material. I dont mind loosing the cup holders.

Passat (B6) :: Stereo Needs To Crank To Turn The Bass Way Down

So I have noticed a couple things about my stereo that puzzle me. I have the Dynaudio NAV system w/6 CD changer in the glove box.

1. I had the doors done with Dynamat and it definitely sounds better but the problem is that if I crank it I have to turn the Bass way down otherwise it distorts. Now correct me if I am wrong but shouldn't the amp and speakers be perfectly matched so this doesnt happen.

2. I have the AUX input button on, screen and I can select it but there is no jack in my glove box where all the literature says it is supposed to be. My VW/Audi service manager printed out a build sheet and it doesnt seem to be on there.

Kia - Forte :: 2011 - Bass Noise When Speed Is In Between 60 And 65 Mi/h

Car: 2011 Kia Forte 5 EXMileage: ~35000

My car runs fine on city speeds. I noticed this last week when I get on the highway, in between 60 & 65 MPH, I can hear a "deep" (kind of sounds like added bass) sound. It goes away when I go past 65, but the "driving sound" (no music, no a/c running) just doesn't sound as smooth as it did before I hit the 60-65 range. I get the noise again when I decelerate and pass through that range. My car does not display a Check Engine Light when this happens.

Golf/GTI VI :: Stock Stereo Had Too Much Bass When Started The Car

This morning I'm heading to work and noticed that my local radio station was broadcasting WAAAAYYYYY too much bass. It sounded like I had turned up the bass all the way and turned everything else down. The volume level was reasonable, but the bass was rattling the doors and causing distortion as if the volume was all the way up.

I changed the station and it seemed better when I came back, so I just thought it was a glitch at the radio station. Then it started again. I tried all other means of playing music and they were all affected. Just to see what would happen, I shut off the engine at a light and started it back up. This seems to have corrected the problem. Now I'm nervous though. This is the sort of random malfunction that made me hesitant to buy German.

My car is a 2011 4dr GTI w/autobahn package.

Accent RB (2012+) :: Rear Windows And Bass Shaking

Yesterday I was driving home from a long road trip (1425 miles in 2 days) and I was listening to my stock radio/speakers. It was a bit chilly with the front windows down, but too warm with them up and I didn't want to turn on the a/c. (no specific reason. I just didn't want to). So I thought I would just open the back windows.

As soon as I did this, the radio bass was just shaking the whole car. It was nuts. I wasn't even listening to anything with a strong bass to it. I closed the windows, it went away. It was better when I turned off the super bass, but I found this odd. Especially since I see people put these large speaker boxes in the trunk.

Golf V R32 :: Sudden Loss Of Bass Out Of Stock Speakers?

I started my R up just a few mins ago only to have the bass completely drop out of the stock speakers. The only thing I've added is a passat dynaudio amp, but that was months ago and I don't crank my speakers really loud or anything...

Yesterday they were on volume 09. I've checked the connectors on the amp, and everything seems to be plugged in correctly.

After getting my passenger speaker replaced for that gurgly, horrible noise that comes out during deep bass notes. it went away. IT HAS COME BACK NOW TEN FOLD! on both sides of my car, and has been happening every morning! it was very upsetting to come back to after being away for two weeks.

Lexus IS 2014+ :: Bass Line Is Louder Than Lead Vocals

I took delivery of a 2014 IS350 RWD last week. Mine has no navigation system, so it has the "Lexus Display Audio System." I almost immediately noticed that the bass (or more specifically the mid-bass) sounded excessively boosted. At first, I thought for sure that someone at the dealership had turned the bass tone control all the way up. It took me a long time just to find the tone controls in the audio system (the design of this system is a mess IMO), but when I finally found them, I was shocked to find that all of the controls were centered at zero!

I immediately turned off the DSP settings (surround and ASL) to make sure those weren't causing the problem.

When you listen to pop or rock music, all you hear is the bassline or bass drums. The bass line is actually louder than the lead vocals! It's an absolute mess. My guess is that the boost is centered around 200Hz. Adjusting the "bass" setting in the tone controls does work a bit. If I turn the bass almost all the way down, the system becomes barely tolerable. If I turn the bass down one more notch (as far down as it will go), the sound becomes very thin. The problem, of course, is that the bass tone control affects a wide range of bass frequencies, and not just the problem area centered around 200Hz.

So the bottom line is I can't do anything to fix it. I'm going to make an appointment at the service department next week too see if there's something wrong with the system, but I'm afraid they're just going to blow me off and say "that's just the way it is."

Golf V R32 :: Door Panel Rattle Caused By Bass From The Stereo?

Any good fix for the door panel rattle caused by bass from the stereo? I've had the car to the dealership twice and it hasn't been fixed either time. It's not the door trim it's the actual panel, if you push right below and to the front of the arm rest it stops. Turning the bass down is not an option, if it's not meant to be up that far they shouldn't have made it that way. How hard is the door panel to remove? Also is there a fix for the seatbelt adjuster rattle?

Accent MC (2006-11) :: Low Bass Rumble And Minor Vibes At Idle

I have a mint condition 2008 Accent with only 34K miles. Never had major problems, keep oil changed. Back in summer I noticed a low-pitch noise resonating from the engine or exhaust, and the car seemed to shake a little more (idle at full operating temp is stable @ about 750). It was right after a 600-mile round trip to NYC and back...unfortunately we sat in traffic for three hours waiting to cross the GW bridge with the car and A/C running (it was very hot).

After returning home is when I first noticed noise and vibration difference with or without A/C when slowing down at light or at stopped at idle. I replaced plugs with Bausch--no change. I replaced again last month with EGK--no change. Last week I found #1 cylinder coil corroded and wet from engine degreaser that leaked into the valve cover, which was causing #1 misfire. I replaced coil and engine seemed fine for first day, but now back to original low rumble sound and minor vibration. Dealer checked it out and couldn't duplicate or find anything. New tires and all new belts--no change before or after. No engine light.

Lexus GX 2004-09 :: Loud Bass Sound At Start Up After Subwoofers Added

I have added a set of 10" subwoofers and tapped into the rear speakers to get the signal. Everything worked fine for about a month, then it started to make a loud subwoofer sound during start up, regardless of if the stereo was on or not. The amp manufacturer and the place who sold me everything said that maybe it's a noise cancelling issue with the cabin mics. Could this be true? If so, where are they located to disconnect them, are there any ways to disable them, or, would that sound still occur if I used the signal into the amp from either the fronts or the factory sub instead of the rear speakers?
