Confirmed it today. Not hearing things. A very low bass like hum when the car goes over 80. Wind noise of transmission binding. What the transmission binding sounds like? Would it happen if the car was just going straight ahead with no turns?

IT HAS COME BACK NOW TEN FOLD! on both sides of my car, and has been happening every morning! it was very upsetting to come back to after being away for two weeks.
View 1 RepliesI purchased a 2012 Yaris a few monthes ago, and experienced strange buzzing sounds from the back speakers (on the passenger doors) when playing music with deep low bass tones.
When checking the symptom carefully, it's very difficult to pinpoint the source of the buzzing - sometimes it comes from the doors' plastic, sometimes from the speaker area itself.
Again, this only happens in very low bass tones.
I have another question my front speakers work, they produce vocals and bass. My back speaker only produce bass! NO VOCALS? Why? Is this normal? I only realized this today. I drive a 2006 ford f150 supercab.

View 24 RepliesWhen I back up the T-egg and at the same time I press the brake to control the speed. I hear a strange sound coming from the rear brake. Something like I hit something. How often? I would say, always. I went to the dealer 2 months ago and could not duplicate at that time.

1.) Everytime I go to back up in my car the whole car starts shaking back in forth like someone is at the front and back rocking it.
2.) After my car has been driven around for a bit and I return to campus to look for parking spaces sometimes I have to back up because there aren't any. Whenever I go to back up, it makes this loud sound like a bat hitting a metal pole and it can be felt throughout the car. It does it all the time now.
I am beginnning to get scared to take this thing offroading. Also whenever I shift from P to R it makes this loud THUNK sound. I am going to let the dealer look at it when I take it in for the 10K service.
My Prius v fan for the heat started this low bass sound when it is turned up. It seems that it causes the vehicle to race! If I shut the heat fan off while parked, the vehicles takes a few seconds to return to "normal".

View 1 RepliesI have added a set of 10" subwoofers and tapped into the rear speakers to get the signal. Everything worked fine for about a month, then it started to make a loud subwoofer sound during start up, regardless of if the stereo was on or not. The amp manufacturer and the place who sold me everything said that maybe it's a noise cancelling issue with the cabin mics. Could this be true? If so, where are they located to disconnect them, are there any ways to disable them, or, would that sound still occur if I used the signal into the amp from either the fronts or the factory sub instead of the rear speakers?

View 14 RepliesOn the way to work this morning in stop-and-go traffic, I noticed a new, weird noise from my week-old 2012 GTI with less than 500 miles on it.
The noise happens when letting of the gas in gear. Doesn't matter what gear you're in or what the engine speed is. Around a second after getting of the gas, there is a loud, depp bass thump, almost like a subwoofer hit from a close-by car. That's what I originally thought it was, but later determined it's something from my car.
What it could be? An exhaust noise? Something hitting? Is this a common noise on the new GTIs?
When there is any degree of bass in my sound system (JBL), the driver's side door vibrates or rattles. If I push against the handle with the controls on it very hard, I can dampen the sound to where it's (almost) nonexistent.
View 7 RepliesI have a 2007 Lexus GS 350 with the Mark Levinson audio system. I am starting to hear a sound from the passenger side door speaker like a rattling when there is low bass in a song. I wanted to know much it should cost me to have all the speakers replaced to higher quality ones.
I don't need crazy bass that will make my windows shatter, however currently these speakers feel like if I put any hip hop or dubstep on more speakers will blow. I do NOT want to have to cut any part of my car to install new speakers, I am not comfortable with someone cutting holes or making bigger holes to fix the new speakers.
I collapsed the rear seats this morning, loaded the Treg up with stuff (nothing too heavy) and drove 200 miles. Got home, unloaded stuff and then tried to put the seats back up. The center seat belt is integrated into the passenger side 60% folding seat. But for some reason it's now "locked" as the belts do when the car is in an accident.
Since the belt is tight as it is in the lowered position, it will not allow me to lift up the back portion of the seat. After looking at it in the somewhat narrow view I have from between the floor and the lowered back rest, I can see that when I try to lift the back rest, the belt needs to slack some to allow the seat back to go all the way up. But since it catches, it only allow the seat back to raise about 6" before it's too tight to raise the seat back anymore.
I looked at the mounting bolts for the bottom portion of the belt in the space I can see and I see a 12 point star pattern bolt (not sure of proper name). With my Passat, I was able to find a suitable allen wrench that fits in the 12 point star pattern bolt that controls the back door catch for adjustment purposes. But with this one, I tried both metric and SAE and neither has a close enough match.
The belt locking mechanism allows for about 1" of belt travel before it locks. I've jiggled with the belt trying to get the mechanism to unlock so I don't have to remove the belt anchor point on the floor of the car (which I don't have the right wrench for). Anything I can do with the belt? Or do I just go after getting the right wrench and undoing the anchor to allow more belt slack to reset the belt?
I guess my curious nature got me in trouble today. I took out the ski bag today just to wipe it down and see what it looked like and when I went to put it back in, I couldn't for the life of me figure out how to fold it back up with that belt and everything and make it fit in that little compartment. I looked in the manual but it doesn't have instructions on how to fold it properly.
View 12 RepliesI searched using all possible keywords, but to no avail. My back hatch got stuck about 3 weeks ago. I could not open it, but it showed as being open on the MFI. I took it to the dealer, and it was fixed. They said they replaced the locking mechanism. Well, it got stuck again this weekend and am taking it back to the dealer. Why did it get stuck again, even though they replaced the mechanism?
View 2 RepliesWell I can and I wonder if this is normal as I can push my treg when it is off and in park [parking brake off of course] about 6 inches. It will rock back and forth, is this normal ?? I ask as I also have clunking in my drive train that the stealership says is normal. And I have 70k miles but this has been going on since 30k miles.

View 2 RepliesOur 03 V6 Touareg has had this problem for a while now and the dealer doesn't seem to be able to do anything. When first started in the morning and reversed out of the driveway the car JERKS back and forth really bad. So bad that if you're standing outside the car you can see the car rock back and forth. We use 93oct in the car. There is also hesitation during acceleration. Has done this since day 1.
View 3 RepliesWhen I went out to my Touareg on my second day of ownership, I unlocked with the key fob and then heard this buzzing/humming sound from the back half of the vehicle. I would equate it to an electric antenna raising or lowering. It lasted about 4 seconds. When I stopped, locked and left the car for a few hours and returned, it did not happen.
