View 14 RepliesNoticed a rattling sound from the front end of the car when hitting certain types of bumps/rough road. Turns out my right front stabilizer bar needs replacing. Dealer has ordered part, and it's covered under warranty. However, I thought stabilizer bars were supposed to be replaced in pairs. Do I need to ask them to replace both the front right and left, or is just replacing the right ok?
View 9 RepliesWe have an 07 F150 XL reg cab. Having problem with the doors rattling going down a dirt or bumpy road. They sound almost as if door weren't shut rite even though they are slammed shut. We took it in to the dealer and they said they adjusted and replaced door stops but we still have the same problem. plus they said they could not duplicate.
View 14 RepliesOn bumpy roads, and on most highways, there is a slight humming/rattling noise to the bottom left hand side of the steering wheel. Its really only audible when there's no music on, which happens to be how I like to drive. I've tried pushing on some of the panels when i hear it, to see if it dampens the noise, but no leads so far.
View 8 RepliesI have been little irritated with my noisy/rattling sound ride coming from passenger dash, my steering wheel area and some time front passenger belt. I have taken it to dealership and they could not hear anything so they duplicate the problem and no cation was taken. But they found out passenger side ball joint was loose , so they replaced that under warranty.
I wanna know if everyone sonata makes that noise when you go over little bumps on road, rail track crossing ? it just irritates me too much,,how ever the rattle/noise is not much, i cant hear if i have music on.
Yesterday I tapped on passenger side dash and there was a after tapping noise, like vibration. I don't know if its loose plastic or what. I am not able to detect the exact location where the noise coming from. but i am sure one noise is coming from steering wheel on every tiny bumps.
I want to fix it by myself now, cause sometimes noise is there and sometime not. Is there any way to detect the noise ? Noise- more like plastic noise, like loose plastic, hinges squeaking sound, rattling sound.
I have a 2007 Lexus GS 350 with the Mark Levinson audio system. I am starting to hear a sound from the passenger side door speaker like a rattling when there is low bass in a song. I wanted to know much it should cost me to have all the speakers replaced to higher quality ones.
I don't need crazy bass that will make my windows shatter, however currently these speakers feel like if I put any hip hop or dubstep on more speakers will blow. I do NOT want to have to cut any part of my car to install new speakers, I am not comfortable with someone cutting holes or making bigger holes to fix the new speakers.
The sunroof seems to squeak a lot while driving on bumpy/ uneven roads.
Before I didn't know where the squeaking sound was coming from, I assumed it was from the doors. But when I opened up the sunroof the squeaks went away and when I closed it the squeaks came back. The sound is so irritating sometimes that I am forced to drive with the sunroof open.
I'm having an issue with my drivers side door trim vibrating. Bumpy roads, snow covered roads, pretty much any road surface that isn't perfect, this piece of trip vibrates and makes a squeaking noise. I've attached a picture and put a circle where the noise is coming from. If I hold that part with my hand, the noise stops. It's very annoying since it's right next to my ear!

View 8 RepliesI came across this issue in my Sonata Turbo. At 5K+ RPMs, I can hear a sort of gurgling/rattling sound coming from the engine. Its concentrated on the driver's side behind the firewall. It goes away immediately once I drop below 5K RPMs. It isn't too loud; I didn't notice it up until now because I usually have some music going.
This is my first Turbo that I have ever owned. That would make sense because it only engages at high RPMs. My car has 3K miles on it. Been loving it so far!
I have a sub in my passat facing the the back of the seats. When i pump up the volume the armrest rattles with the bass, really annoyed at this. Maybe the armrest needs to be opened up and filled with sponge type material. I dont mind loosing the cup holders.
View 4 RepliesI just bought my brand new 2015 Hyundai Sonata 2.4L SE 3 weeks ago and have put 4000kms on it so far and from last week I am getting a rattling noise from just behind my steering wheel while going over washboard surfaces every time. Feels like something plasticy is loose around the upper steering column which rattles every time I go over a washboard surface. My university campus has a lot of rumble strips to slow cars down and that is where I noticed this noise very clearly.
I have taken my car to the local dealer and the mechanic there have acknowledged the problem after comparing the noise with a new car there. He tightened some bolts around the lower steering rack apparently but the problem is still there. He says to bring the car in after the problems gets significantly worse because it is still not severe enough for him to diagnose it and find what is causing it. I do not know much severe I need to the let the problem get before they do something about it. The dealership still has the ticket open for me; I will probably try to visit them next week again.

The problem is that it appears the torque converter is locking up so early even right after getting into second gear at speeds between 20km/h and 40km/h. This causes shuddering/rattling coming from under the hood. If I am not mistaken a torque converter should lock up at speeds 80km/h+. I've never seen this behavior on any car before. I'm not sure what kind of damage is being done either by all this shuddering and rattling going on with the transmission. I feel that this should be something that needs to be addressed via some software update. Is there any software update in regards to this issue?

So I'm getting this ticking noise from the drivers seat belt area. Seem to be coming from where you can adjust the seat belt height. It ticks when on slightly bumpy road. Drives me nuts because it is right by my left ear.

View 3 RepliesDriving what was my wife's 2008 Prius, and for the most part the sound is adequate but I have a bass rattle in the doors and I'm wondering what's the best way to resolve it.
My source is my iPhone 6 via a Bluetooth add-on, and for the most part it is fine if i leave the iPhone volume level at Max minus 2-3 bars. But if the song is bass heavy and I have the JBL volume high, there is quite a bit of rattling vibration on the door (rattling panels, etc.), on all the doors.
Q: Is this something that can be resolved by adding a sub and rolling off the bass for the JBL speakers? Or does resolving it require more a sound deadening at the doors?
I'm getting this rattling sound/buzzing sound when I drive over bumpy roads. I'm not sure if this is the fuel line since the only time I get the rattle is when I drive over bumpy roads (brick roads, uneven roads, rumble strip, etc).
I think the rattle is from the passenger side.
I checked the VW site for recalls (not sure if TSBs will show up) for my vehicle. I think I'm going to take it in to get checked and see if the fuel line rubber washer was ever installed. Would the dealership be able to see if the TSB was ever performed while they had the car in the lot? Does the TSB only apply to certain range of VINs?
The speakers themselves are not rattling, but the door panels themselves are. What kind of cheap material did Toyota use on the Gen 5s to cause door 6x9s rattles on the panel when listening to bass heavy music
View 14 RepliesI drive 2007 ES350, lately I am getting clunking noises from rear, inside or underneath the trunk, when going over bumpy roads. I have removed everything from the inside of the trunk except for spare tire and tools in foam, etc.
