I have a 2013 prius in blizzard pearl and I've had it for about 3 months and the front speakers on the doors are rattling. I don't know if it a common thing, but it sucks to have a new car with rattling speakers.
View 6 RepliesAs you all know there are no speakers in the rear door of a Prius C one. There are also no wires for a speaker. No big deal, I have pulled wire into a door many times. Can't do it! The rubber boot that goes through the door has a wire harness connector that covers the entire boot in the pillar, it actually looks like one piece. How to remove that connector to get access into the door with a speaker wire? I managed to to unhook the harness but in doing so the plastic clip that looks it broke off. Not good.

My 2013 Red Prius C started to chip on the door edges around 6 months after purchase. My guess is it has something to do with the extremely thin/light metal used to make the car and the quality of the paint. I've owned the car for 2 1/2 years now and the problem is only getting worse. The dealership says I'm the only person to ever have this issue and blamed me.

I have been looking for a video or tutorial on how to potentially fix this myself. The dealership wants 165.00 a door to fix.
View 1 RepliesNoticed a plastic rattling noise near their back speaker housing while driving over bumpy roads? I started noticing this sound over the last week or so, and thus far can only isolate it to the rear speakers area.
I also tested the rear shade up and down to make sure that wasn't rattling against the roof, but it wasn't. I also took everything loose out of the car just to make sure it wasn't some random object. The annoying thing is.. the sound is NOT consistent-- even while driving over the SAME bumpy road AND everything I feel is very tight and solid. So bringing it back to the dealer is a bit premature I think since I can't duplicate the problem consistently yet.
Btw, I have the JBL Synthesis system -- 11 speakers.
2013 Prius 3 making a squealing or rattling noise when accelerating after car is warmed up. It only does it when the car is up to temperature and when you accelerate slightly harder, like going up a hill or something. It sounds like a pulley or something squealing. It has been to the dealer and of course they couldn't duplicate the noise or see anything wrong. Not to sound funny, but it actually sounds like a hamster running on a wheel. It is very annoying. It is not a constant noise, it only happens under load. It gets louder when the ac is on as well. If you let off the accelerator when it starts the noise goes away. I don't know of it matters but our car has the forged 17" wheels on it from the factory, and the car has 8600 miles on it.
View 19 RepliesI have a 2013 Jetta se with connectivity and it has the 8 speaker premium. I'm wondering where the speakers are located. 2 tweeters in the pillar and a speaker in each door. So that's 6, and then there are cutouts for tweeters in the rear doors but I don't see a tweeter in the cutout? That would've made 8 (lovely math skill I know).
View 9 RepliesI just got my ultra white/Black GS FSport Monday and noticed right away that the phone audio is complete garbage. When I make a call it sounds like my speakers are blown. Really bad crackly and cutting out of the audio, as if my phone was just outside of the BT signal range, when in fact it's in my pocket. Tech guy at Lexus said to disconnect and remove device from both the phone and the car and pair the phone again...but same problems.
View 1 Replies2013 GX paired with iPhone 5s via bluetooth. This has worked flawlessly for a long time but now it is acting up. When I make a call from the car with speed dials, call history or contacts, I do not hear the "ringing sound" from the car speakers. I just see "calling" and then "talking" when it is answered. I checked volume on both phone and touch screen, made sure my phone was not on mute, disconnected and paired my phone again, all to no avail. The crazy thing is sometimes it works normally, and sometimes just silence.
Once the phone call is answered I can talk normally, etc. just no ringing. Yesterday, I used the redial to call "Time" about 7-8 times and it worked correctly 3 times and the others it did not. The thing Is, this necessitates looking down at the touch screen while driving to see whether it is dialing and when the call is being answered. When someone calls me it rings normally. I am under warranty but my dealer is quite a drive away and since it does this intermittently I am sure when I took it in it would be in a "normal" phase.
I've had the rear barn doors and window start rattling lately no matter how tight I think I've closed them. The seals look ok.
View 10 RepliesI have grown extremely irritated over rattling inside the Touareg and decided to listen closely in an attempt to identify the guilty panels or whatever is causing all that noise that makes the cabin of my 2004 Touareg sound like the interior of a 1994 Ford Explorer with about 200,000 miles on it.
I identified the rear seat bench as a noise generator a while ago. I wrapped electrical tape around the latch bolts, but that didn't work too well. It seems that the rear middle arm rest rattles quite a bit in itself. The rest of the rattling seems to comes from the rear seat backs, but this is old news.
I noticed that the door panels (or at least that's what I thought) on the driver's door and right rear passenger door were rattling and creating a lot of noise. However, as much as I tried to hit (lightly) the door panel with the palm of my hand on different areas of the door panel, I couldn't get it to make the same noise.
After listening closer while I drove, it sounded like the doors themselves weren't quite closed. They sounded like they rattled on their latches. Something like taking off with a door ajar, but the noise isn't as pronounced. Then I remembered that every once in a while, during a visit to my friendly local car wash, water was entering my vehicle and accumulating on the rear seatbench. Upon closer inspection, I would notice that the water was getting in easily between the rubber door seal and and the door sill.
Two days ago, I decided to check something, and low and behold, I think I found the problem. Those two problem doors don't shut as tightly as the other two silent doors. I ran my fingers along the door crack near the door handles on all four doors and discovered that the two noisy doors "stuck out" some. Just a few millimeters (maybe 1 or 2 at most). I then tested it with a flat edge and it was even more apparent. I then stood behind the vehicle (far rear left and far rear right) and looked straight down the vehicle's edge and noticed that those two doors were sticking out.
I tried to loosen the door latches on the door sills to move the latches in a little, but I found that a T-40 torx is too small and a T-45 torx is too large. In fact, the T-40 worked on the top bolt on both front door sill latch hooks, but would strip the bottom bolt on the same door sill latch hooks. Those 8 point bolts are not torx (duh). I'll have to wait till Tuesday (Monday is a holiday here) to get this rattling fixed. I really hope that this eliminates most of the noises I am hearing. I notice that the front right door doesn't make any noise, and I also notice that that is the one door in the vehicle that needs to be shut extra hard in order for it the shut the first time. If it's not shut hard, it usually takes two or three tries to get it to shut. My 2003 GTI did this as well, with the very same door.
We have an 07 F150 XL reg cab. Having problem with the doors rattling going down a dirt or bumpy road. They sound almost as if door weren't shut rite even though they are slammed shut. We took it in to the dealer and they said they adjusted and replaced door stops but we still have the same problem. plus they said they could not duplicate.

Kind of wondering how this could happen, but since I like it that way I don't really want to change it back. Is there a way to toggle this and can I change it so that rear doors and hatchback unlock also when I turn the car off?

View 14 RepliesMy iPhone 4s shifts from car (Lexus 350RX 2012) speaker to phone speaker and back constantly when I'm on a call. I have erased the pairing between the phone and the car and repaired it, I have also reset the phone to no avail. Lexus says my car firmware is up to date. It has to do with Bluetooth AVRCP 1.4 compatibility.
View 3 RepliesI have a 2000 F250 super cab and the doors rattle going over bumps. I've seen the weather stripping mod and intend to do this but my drivers side doors are touching at the top. Would this indicate that the busings are shot? With the doors open, when I lift on the outer edge there is no movement in the hinge area. The drives door and drivers side back door actually touch and rub at the top. Any pointers?
View 10 RepliesHaving problem with the speakers popping like they are busted when listening to HD radio only. I took it by the dealer and they told me to not listen to HD radio.... Really, I paid all this money and now I can only use some of the features....It has the Sony system with Mytouch. Any update or TSB on this. It's really annoying when your trying to jam out and your speakers sounds busted!!!
