Prius (Gen 3) :: Blank Display After 12v Battery Went Dead

The battery went dead on my 2010 Prius and when I had AAA jump start the car the clock plus the display with odometer, mpg, hybrid battery graph etc, no longer light up. Everything else seems to work.

Is there any easy way reset it other than taking to the dealer? (Could a fuse have blown etc.?)

Prius (Gen 3) :: Battery Dead / Jumped Then Display Freakout With Check Hybrid System

My 2010 Prius sat idle, parked for 7 days while my wife and I were on vacation. When we went to pick up the car, the airport valet said that the Prius wouldn't start, and so that they'd have to jump it. I approved the jumpstart, and got into the car. We got about 1/4 a mile before the display totally freaked out, including the "check hybrid system" as well as about every warning light there is. The car was beeping, acceleration was lost and it eventually died on the side of the road. The car would not start back up.

Had it towed to the nearest dealership. Initial diag from the service manager was that the 12v battery was dead. I approved replacement of that, and also authorized clearing out "a few software alerts". Got a call later in the day from the same manager (very nice guy) and there are about 11 errors that cannot be cleared out. Now he's asking for 3-4 hours labor to "trace the wiring" as suggested by Toyota. Apparently the tech had been in touch with them all day.

Prius (Gen 3) :: Speedometer Display Went Blank

I took the Prius on a ski trip and halfway to our destination the speedometer display went blank and has not yet come back to life. It was fairly cold outside (-5 F) and I have seen other people blame the cold weather for a Generation II Prius.

Prius (Gen 3) :: Multi Information Display Blank / Not Working

My wife on her way home from work called me to say that the MID screen was blank - not working. I asked if she could drive the car, she could, but the energy monitor screen that she has on usually was not coming on. Her concern while driving was that she could not tell how fast she was going.

Fortunately, just a week ago I had installed Scangauge II in her car and had her convert one of existing gauge to MPH. This is a new 2012 Prius IV that is about 2 months old. I'm pretty sure that MID can't be turned off.

Prius (Gen 3) :: 2010 Dash Display Has Gone Out - Screen Blank

Went to a meeting one evening last week with my 2010 Prius, everything working well. After the meeting we drove away and noticed that most of the dash display was "dark". Driving home and feeling a little gloom as I wondered what it might cost to fix the display problem.

I noticed the poster announcing the meeting we attended was laying on the dash and was pushed up to the display screen. I pulled the poster back an inch and the display came back on !! Pushed it forward and when it got within 1/2 inch of the display, it would blank out ??

It appears the dash display is some sort of bottom projection system to the display screen. Pushing anything up to the display screen blocks that bottom projection and blanks the screen.

Prius (2004-09) :: MFD Blank And Unresponsive - Replaced 12v Battery

I have a 2008 Prius, MFD died one day, screen completely dark and all buttons on it are unresponsive. I used a voltmeter to check the 12v battery which had troubles last winter (had to jump it once) and it was at about 10.6v so I just replaced it with an Optima battery. Sadly the MFD is still blank.

The MFD actually came on for a second a couple weeks ago which led me to believe it was still functional and just not getting enough power from a failing 12v.

Prius (2001-03) :: Car Stopped, HV Battery Shown Blank On Energy Screen

My 2002 Prius stopped while driving down the road and will not restart.

The fuel level is flashing and was ~ 1/2 when the car failed. My scanner will not read the OBDC 2 (not connecting). The windows other than the drivers will not go up or down.

The PRNDLB does not show gear.

The 12 volt battery is OK, but the HV battery shown as blank on the energy screen.

I hate to put too much into a 2002 with 190,000 miles, but it does still have value if I can get it running again.

For example if I needed a rebuilt battery for 15-1800 I would probably go for it. So far the car has been 100% reliable.

Prius (2001-03) :: Car Dead In The Morning, Display Won't Come On

Have had my 2002 for one year now, with 96k miles. Occasionally I get the red triangle but after 5 restarts it quits showing.

But now I have a different problem: in the mornings the car is dead, I turn the key all the way but not even the display comes on. But, if I turn the key all the way to where it says "start" and hold it there, energy slowly starts to flow and after about 2 minutes I get a lighted-up display and the car gets back to normal.

Seems like the 12-volt depletes overnight and when I hold the key in "start" the main battery charges the aux. I'm afraid suddenly this won't work and I'll get stranded anytime.

Passat (B6) :: A/C Not Working - Temp Display Blank

I just picked up my car from the body shop and noticed the outdoor temp display in the MFD blank (3 dashes) and the AC is blowing hot air. I don't hear the compressor going on either. The AC was working fine until I brought it in. (Why does it always end up like this?!)

Since this was an insurance claim due to a motorcyclist hitting the front driver panel and ripping off a portion of the bumper, the body shop said they didn't touch anything with the AC.

I'm bringing the car back in tomorrow morning so they can have a look and determine whether it was loss related. Is there a sensor in that area? What to check? I have the manual climate system (climactic?).

Prius (2004-09) :: 2008 - CEL Came On / Battery Display Shows The Battery Is Green

I tried to turn on my car this morning, but the "Ready" sign didn't go on. The whole display is black. "Check Engine" sign blinked briefly. Battery display shows the battery is "green". Everything else works - cd/radio/bluetooth, etc. As I tried to start it, the screen showed that the engine briefly charged the Prius battery, then it was all quite. I tried to wait and restart a few times, but still the display was all black and no "ready" sign. I WAS able to still move the car, but I didn't chance to drive it out of the garage. I just had it serviced (oil/fluid change). Small battery was replaced in July.

RNS810 ... My display went blank even though all the touch screen features are available (but hidden from view). Phoned VW who say there is a software update to address the blank screen issue - will try and get it done tomorrow.

The instrument cluster screen in my 2004 phaeton suddenly stopped displaying anything today, I've tried removing and replacing fuses but still nothing, not even the backlight for the display is on, everything else is working fine its just the display. I need the car for a 600mi trip in 2 days.

Camry 2012+ :: Multi Informational Display Screen Blank

Recently brought a 2015 camry SE and wouldn't you know it, someone pulls out in front of me on the highway within a week of buying it. After getting the car back from the auto body shop, I've noticed that my multi information display has a blank screen. Didn't notice that before the accident. The first 3 screens I can set up as I want, the 4th screen is tire pressure and the 5th screen is blank. I've tried to find out what the 5th screen should be but I haven't been able to find an answer.

Lexus LX 2008+ :: Rear Seat Entertainment Display Blank But Opens And Closes

I just got a 2009 570 with rear entertainment, It opens and closes on command when prompted from the front screen and when i use the remote control, it also tilts at various angles but that's all I get from it. it is completely blank. No display whatsoever just tilts, opens and closes. I have a DVD loaded in front. Its a Mark Levinson system the DVD plays fine on the dash screen when I put the parking brakes on but the rear screen remains blank I would call it dead if not for the fact that it opens and closes.
