All passengers in my 2016 Three Touring notice some intermittent plastic noise near the driver left knee. Just a few squeezes sometimes. Definitely not electronic (braking or others). Feels like dashboard plastic noise.

View 3 RepliesMy son just changed my oil, radiator fluid & transmission fluid on my 2007 Prius with 125,000 miles. Now it makes a fairly quiet, intermittent pumping or quiet growling/humming noise. A vibration can be felt near the driver's left foot when the noise is heard. The noise starts about a minute or two after starting the car & goes on & off, about every 30 seconds, for the entire time the car is running or driving. The car seems to drive normally, although I've only driven it a few miles, a few times. The only unusual dash light is the "maintenance required" indicator which has been on since before the fluid changes.
View 12 RepliesI have a 2006 Prius (150K miles) with a noise coming from the drivers left wheel. It is a hollow metallic squeak that only occurs while the vehicle is moving. It sounds like the wheel is making brief contact with something metallic at the same point on every rotation. The pitch of the squeak increases with the speed of wheel rotation. It does so while rolling, with breaks and without. The noise gets louder when turning right, and softer when turning left, though it begins to get louder again when the wheel is turned hard all the way left.

View 2 RepliesSo I cold started our V today and the electric motor turned on. When it switched over to the gas motor when I turned the heat on in the car, there was a violent plastic on plastic clunking or clanging type of noise. Sounded like something sheered itself off the motor. Then after about 5 seconds, it went away. Drove the car for a while, no check engine lights, no other weird noises, no problems. Engine seems like it has been ticking a bit in all this cold weather but I figure it was just lifter noise so I ignored it. Car is a 2012 with approximately 17k miles on it. Going to try to see if the same thing happens when I cold start it tomorrow morning in the frigid air. Car just had its 15k service and the dealer said it was perfect.....I don't get it. This noise was freaking loud. We LOVE this car btw...never thought I would say this about a hybrid because I am a HP nut, but this is the best, most functional car we have ever owned so far.
View 5 RepliesI am a fairly new 2013 Prius C (Four) owner and I was wondering about cabin noise, specifically plastic clicking and popping. My questions is about, plastic clicking and popping sounds coming from the dash area?
It's hard to pinpoint exactly where but most of the sounds comes from the far left and right corners, close to the window vents where the windshield meets the dash. I do also notice some noise around the middle of the dash as well. This occurs on any type of road condition but is of course aggravated with rougher road surfaces. I don't believe it to be a small piece of plastic bouncing around but more of loose panels or something of that nature but I'm not sure.
Just bought a new to me 2009 prius with 50k. Love the car thus far, and am learning more and more about the hybrid stuff.
One question i do have, that the dealer didnt explain well, was the planetary transmission. specifically the noises.
Its pretty quiet, but from a cold start, and into reverse, its the really odd noise. It sounds kind of like im backing a front plastic lower air damn off the curb. Like the hard, hollow plastic ka-klunk. it never does it from park to drive, or after a while of driving from park to reverse.
My problem occured at beginning of 5,000 mile trek to pick up my wife at her Florida friends place and make some visits heading north. The solution (not done until yesterday at Lexus) is appearing quite often now.
In fact at the feet of my Service Person's desk was failed part which is a plastic cover under the car for the fuel tank which loses rubber dampening lead strip over time. Then it clatters in thw wind (especially at Hwy. speeds) and telegraphs up thru' door and frame channels to seem like it comes from roof.
I thought my hearing bad at detection when I found this out but apparently they have speant all kinds of wasted time with roof channels/ rubber strip replacements (which I had done on right side of car and had done left side of car yesterday before we figured this thing our)/power moon roof assemblies. The problem is under the car.
So in the last few weeks I've been getting a hard knocking noise from the left front wheel-well, it's very repetitive if I turn the wheels to the left and drive.

There is a black plastic piece hanging and touch the ground, the noise was from this black plastic piece touching the ground. Attached is the picture.Is this a big problem? Can I continue to drive the car to repair shop to get this fixed?
View 6 RepliesI have a 2013 GS350 thats lowered on Tanabe Springs and 20s. It looks nice but the only problem i have is rubbing against the plastic (that what it sounds like) lining in the fender well. This only happens when I make a quick left turn or U turn. The tire size is 245/35/20.
View 5 RepliesI am trying to install the Red TRD ignition switch push start button. I have already removed all the panels I need according to the Toyota instructions. I have two questions;
1.) How do I disconnect the knee airbag ? I was trying to remove the connector but was not sure on how to remove it. The instructions just says be careful.
2.) How do I get the ignition switch out ? There is barely any space to put your hand underneath the dash to remove the two back clips. (after removing all the necessary panels) Since I can not disconnect the knee airbag , It's hard to lay down and look under the dash.
Noticed my 5 week old MK7 GTI is making squeaky noises on the driver's side when turning left at slow speeds. What this could be? Occurs intermittently, not all the time. This is a leased vehicle, would this be covered by warranty?

View 10 RepliesThe carpeted footrest on the left driver's side of my C has a bubbled/raised area on the left side, which causes my foot to roll inward uncomfortably. It feels wrong but it doesn't really look wrong, so I don't want to waste a trip over to the dealership if the area was just poorly designed. Do footrest accommodates the whole foot comfortably or if there is a raised area under the pinky toes? I'll see if I can get a picture.

View 10 RepliesI know that to remove the lower knee panel under the steering wheel all that has to be done is to pull it off and the attachment snaps will pop free. However, How do I go about removal of the dash panel to the left of the steering wheel? This would be the narrow panel that also houses an ac vent, headlight and I believe it is the adjustable pedal control.
View 5 RepliesNoticed that my drivers side back up plastic cover is cracked with a small hole in the top. Would like to RTV the damaged area to seal it but I need to remove it to make the repair. I've pulled some of the inner plastic on the door but can't get at the back up plastic cover.
