I'm experiencing issues with the radio when I change from AM to FM. If on AM mode and I go to audio button or on Steering Switches and push FM, it switches to FM reception (get the radio station on FM) however read out on the screen still says AM and all the presets are in AM mode.
On the reverse from FM to AM same occurs.
Is this a software issue?
I have a 2012 PIP (assume same technology as non-PIP Gen 3s?). I paired my Galaxy S3 phone with the PIP and when my phone receives a text message, I get the prompt on the Prius' screen to read the text message to me. I then paired my wife's iPhone4 to the car, but when she gets a text, there's no prompt on the Prius' screen to read the text. Where should I start troubleshooting this?
View 2 RepliesI found this issue today after using my PIP for about a month. Front driver side's windows switch can not open/close the rear windows ( With un-lock button depressed), It can control front passenger side windows.

View 3 RepliesNoticed poor FM radio reception in 2012? Mine seems to just barely fade in and out. It's not terribly noticeable, but definitely happening. It's frustrating when streaming Bluetooth actually sounds better than the FM radio reception! I'm wondering if it's a problem specific to my car or if it's an issue everyone is experiencing.
View 16 RepliesI bought, new, a 2012 Camry back in 2012. I got the satellite radio option. The reception with satellite is horrible. On the clearest of days, I lose signal all the time making it useless trying to listen to it.
Yes, I understand vegetation can hinder reception. But, it shouldn't to this extent. Not long after I bought the Camry, I purchased a 2010 Ford Fusion. It, too, had satellite radio.
I think, in the 2 years I had the Fusion, I lost signal 2 times. On the cloudiest, foggiest, snowiest, and raniest of days, the Fusion never lost sat signal.
I had the dealer check out the system and they found nothing wrong. I've let my subscription to Sirius expire since I can't even get a decent signal. Is this typical of the satellite radio with Camry's???
I have noticed that when driving in EV mode when the car switches over to HV mode the Eco icon always lights up! Of course you can select Eco, or Power mode manually, but when it does this automatically, after the EV battery charge is used up, it keeps showing the Eco icon being lite not HV.

View 19 RepliesI've looked in the mounds of user manuals as well as searching here but can't find the answer to this question: How do you keep the EV screen showing on the upper dash after turning on radar cruise control? Even if I switch back to any of the EV screens the dang radar ready or the active radar screen takes over no matter how many times I go back to the EV screens. I have already set the option in setup to not automatically return to the previous screen on the 7" HDD screen.
View 8 RepliesOccasionally, right after I start the car, the HDD display screen will be dark for a minute or two, and then display the map. I can go to the other screens, like Audio or the setup screens, but the map and the backup camera screens are dark. The still-functional buttons are responsive as usual (no delays/hangs). When the map finally "wakes up", it behaves normally. I don't have to do anything other than wait for it to wake up. It does this about 10% of the time. I have tried to correlate this to something, but it seems totally random.

View 3 RepliesI noticed since day one that my 2014 PiP radio is more static than my 2006 Prius. I also noticed that when I started moving in ev only, the radio volume level would drop. Well, I never really thought about it why till I got LED headlights. Now, the static is worst due to RF interference from the LED. So, it looks like there were more interference due to the ev electrical system. With the LED headlight, it made it worst. I have put a choke on the leads of the headlight, but it does nothing.

View 10 RepliesRecently, we had to change the 12V auxiliary battery on our 2010 Prius IV. Everything went smoothly and the entire procedure took less than 20 minutes. We thought everything was good, until we turned on the radio.
Since we changed the 12V battery, the FM radio (which is part of the NAV console) has great difficulty keeping any station tuned. Before changing the 12V battery, we could drive around and listen to our favorite FM radio stations; now, the radio frequently loses reception, and our music frequently gets interrupted with static.
It's been a couple months, and the situation has not improved. We took a look at the antenna, and nothing looks out of the ordinary. It seem odd that changing a 12V aux battery would cause this problem, but we have not made any other changes (not even an oil change) for several months.
So I just installed my Pioneer 4400BH - Took several hours and all went well - EXCEPT - no AM reception after I installed the radio. FM seems fine.
Two possible guesses:
1. Did not push the antenna connector in far enough.
2. Gen 3's use an antenna amplifier. I did not think that Gen IIs used on so I did not connect the Power antenna lead to anything.
So, I've owned the PiP for 10 days and 140 miles, and this is the first car I've ever owned with built-in navigation (TomTom and Garmin have served me quite well previously). One of the benefits of built-in nav should be the integration of the voice guidance with the audio system. Yet on my PiP, the system does not mute the radio when the voice guidance announces a turn. Am I missing something? Is there a hidden setting? I've searched the manuals fruitlessly so far.
