So I lent my santa fe to a buddy to do some hauling, I got it back yesterday and the turn signals and the brake lights don't work...notta. Regular running lights are working without issue, but no turn signals, no hazards, no brakes. Even the "tick, tick, tick" of the turn signal is gone, it's just dead.
View 1 RepliesI found out last night that all 3 of my brake lights are out. However, my tail lights work, and my turn-signals work. So obviously its not a big wiring deal. I was looking for the brake switch but i don't know where its at because i looked underneath. What fuse is the brake lights cause my manual doesn't have it listed. I drive a 04 Elantra GLS.
View 6 RepliesI just bought an 05 F250 XLT. I noticed tonight that the rear turn signals and brake lights don't work.
The front turn signals work fine, although they flash fast. I know that usually means a light on its way out. neither taillight flashes though, which puzzles me.
My second issue is that, of the 3 brake lights, only the high mounted light illuminates when I hit the brakes.
I've got a 98 Silverado. Break lights and rear turn signals won't work but tail lights and reverse lights work. Also the brake light on the cab does work.
View 6 RepliesThis has been driving nuts for 2 days.... Brake lights dont work. Either pushing pedal or turning on lights. Turn signals work just fine.
Cab/cargo/3rd brake light on back of cab doesn't work either. I have checked/done the following:
- Checked Brake pedal switch for continuity. Tested fine.
- put multi meter on wiring all the way back to brake lights. No drop in voltage.
- changed bulbs. #3157 dual filament.
- positioned steering wheel all the way up and all the way down as suggested on here. No change.
- checked multi function switch (turn signal switch) for wiring issues. None found.
- kicked rear quarter panel for caveman adjustment out of frustration. No change.
What am I missing?
All of this happened at the same time so has to be related. The a/c system has no power, the brake lights and turn signals don't work, windows wont work, air bag light on. However, the park lights, head lights and hazards work fine. Starts and runs fine. All fuses check out ok. New battery as well.
View 3 RepliesI have checked all fuses, checked wires on top of steering column all checked out ok. Hazards work but when I press brake tail lights just blink with no brake light but the 3rd brake light works??? Signal switch maybe??
View 14 RepliesMy sons 2006 F350 brake lights and rear turn signals quit working. When the headlights are on, all the lights operate but the rear turn signals and brake lights do not nor do the emergency flashers. The front signals work but flash very rapidly. Although I'm not an auto electrician, I'm fairly mechanically inclined but the fact that the front signals work, the rear don't and all lights work as lights, just not as turn signals or brake lights.
View 4 RepliesEvery time I step on the brakes, there is a bright spark in fuse #13. My brake lights, turn signals and hazards don't work. At this point my truck isn't drivable.
According to the owner's manual in my truck, says circuit #13 is for "stop lamps, CHMSL/hazard, trailer tow stop lamp, and speed control."
I'm assuming that the hazard part covers the turn signals as well, but I know the cruise control works even when the fuse is blown. I used it last night on the way home (this was before I realized I didn't have brake lights).
So I know I have a short somewhere. The only mods I've done to the lights are aftermarket headlights, but if the fuse only gets blown when I step on the brakes, I don't see what that would have to do with it. Also, the lights have been installed and working for about a month before this started. The only thing that I did around the same time was install the gauges. I ran the power to them from #5, the customer access circuit.
Are there any other "common" areas for this to happen? I already removed the rear brake lights and it didn't work. I am quickly running out of 20A mini fuses.
2005 F350 Super Duty. I have no brake lights turn signals or hazards. dealer suggested the multiswitch but changed it and still not working?
View 2 RepliesOk so my santa fe is doing some weird things. No dashboard lights work the car wont turn over, it has new battery new starter new ignition and no fuses are blown. Basically it seems electronically dead.
My mother in law was driving it and it just killed, my brother in law changed the starter and battery first then the ignition switch.
I have been working on cars for 15 years and i've never come across this problem.
For some reason my back brake lights on my 2006 santa fe are all goofy. The two in the rear window work fine. The turn signals work fine but the right and left brake lights don't work. I replaced the10 am fuses and the lamps. It did not work at all. I don't understand how the top lights would work but the right / left wont. I even tried the flashers and the brake lights are not on either. I don't see a fuse in the box in the engine compartment labeled for rear brakes, so I am at a loss.
View 9 RepliesSo We just got this car from a used dealer 10 days ago!!! Already has multiple issues even though it only has 115K miles on it!
1. Brake lights will not turn off! All 3 rear lights stay fully on even with no power unless I disconnect the battery or remove the fuse. Made sure all the doors are closed and the trunk is too. Only way to keep it from killing the battery has been to take the fuse out when I park, then putting it back in when I leave, but wife usually drives it so it needs to be fixed ASAP.
2. AC blew a fuse after 3 days!! They claimed to have replaced the compressor, but I cant understand how a fuse blows on the AC. Is this normal or just a fluke?
3a. There is an on off switch next to the drivers right leg along the center panel to the left of the radio. It's a simple on off switch, but I dont see it anywhere in the manual. Is this a switch to turn on the 4WD?? I can't figure out what it is for.
3b. only the 2 right side window switches also dont work. They work with the drivers main panel. I assume its the switches in the doors that are bad and I need to replace them? Hope that will not be too much drama to find and do.
4. It has a preinstalled video dvd system. It only turns on when the engine is on, or key is in on position, but when I restart the car it has to reboot and reload! Any way to rewire it or jump the fuse / relay so it's always on standby and getting power so it doesn't do this? Which fuse is for this unit??
I have an '05 Chevy Colorado and the front turn signals don't work and no flashers. I've tried replacing bulbs and checked the fuses. Looking for info what would work.
View 3 RepliesMy service advancetrac light comes on about once a month, seems random but when it does the turn signals will not work, you have to hold indicator in place for signals to work-not to safe. My local dealer has not been able to fix issue...
View 3 RepliesWhen it is hot out and the interior of the car gets really hot these things do not work: the electric windows will not work, the turn signals will not work, the display on the air conditioner does not work the blower on the air will not work but the air will come out of the defroster. All the dash lights come on abs, trac on trac off. After the car sits in the shade for at least an hour all these things will work.
View 1 RepliesI own a 2004 hyundai santa fe and just recently my turn signals have stopped working. My bulbs are fine because they still light up when I lock my car and my hazards work too. The flashing arrows on my dashboard wont show up for my turn signals but they will show up for hazards. I checked the fuse and its completely fine. I am so confused with what is wrong. The only thing I was doing before was messing with my new head unit which involved unplugging a lot of the stereo and fog lights and hazards but that all should have no affect on my turn signals.

View 2 RepliesI recently bought a 07 Expedition with light left front damage. After the repair I noticed that I'm not getting any power to the rear turn/brake, and backup lamps.The tail lamps and third break light work as does the trailer plug. I know that they were working prior to repairing the front. I did disconnect an aftermarket alarm during the repair. Basically all I replace was L/F sheet metal. Of cause I checked the obvious things like fuses and current to the tail light sockets.

View 1 RepliesI was using a 2004 Heritage F150 and when I connected a trailer to it something got fried. I lost both my turn signals and brake lights. The trailer worked fine on my friends truck so I don't think the issue was there but with the 4-pin round connector that was on the truck.
I found two 10A fuses blown under the hood and replaced them but that didn't work. They were in slots 19 and 20 and are listed as the camper/trailer adapter fuses. The running lights still work. The interior turn signal arrows don't even light up or anything when the turn signal is activated.
