There is a number that is displayed above the mileage when my 2006 Sonata is off. Sometimes it will be really low, and sometimes high. I have looked through the Manual and searched the forums, what this number represents?
View 1 RepliesAs part of my 60 mile commute everyday to work and back, I would stop by a gas station in a town on my way home that has 30 cent cheaper gas than where I live. The first time I fueled the car there was no problem. Then today even though my gas was at 3/4 full and I stopped anyways to put in 5 dollars.
What happened next was strange, before I stopped to fuel my range was at 448 miles, with the needle exactly on the 3/4 mark, then I put in 5 bucks the needle did not move at all and my range was still at 448 even after I started driving back on the highway again hoping maybe it would reset. The needle then slowly went up but then the range didn't go any higher and was still decreasing as I kept on driving.
The thing different today was I accidentally put in Unleaded PLUS so it mixed with the 3/4 tank of just regular Unleaded gas..but as far as I know that shouldn't affect anything..right?
Why does the trip computer not reset after every stop, and can it be set this way when required. I've read one explanation abut the Phaeton being a "motorway car", so there is period between stops within which the trip computer does not reset -

View 4 RepliesMy battery had died and i purchased a new one. Once i had put it into the car i noticed the trip computer no longer worked. The time reset to 12:00 like expected but i can no loner change the time. Its still illuminated at night but i can no longer monitor gas mileage etc. I looked in the manual but could find no answer. Is there a way to reset it?
View 9 Repliesjust had the car in to be tinted...drove home, parked...and now the center trip computer display will not turn off. cars off, doors locked...it just stays on.
The guy who did my tint has a VW tatoo and loved the ride...he knew it had a euro switch (not installed by me), and said he had to disconnect the battery while doing the job because the headlights wouldn't go off unless the key was out of the ignition and he needed to roll the windows up and down (obvi).
I just bought my excursion, an 04 and the trip computer is not working, its dead, when the truck lights are on, the two buttons above light up, but thats it, its as if it has no power, I cant find a fuse for it directly?
View 10 RepliesI've had this car for a couple of years now and I think this week is the first time I didn't 'fill up' when I got gas. So now the trip computer is all confused on miles to empty vs the almost half tank I have on the fuel gauge. I've tried resetting the trip & holding the button to reset when miles to empty is displayed. I'm a little nervous with the miles to empty in the single digits now.
View 15 RepliesI used to drive an Acura which had an option to have the trip computer automatically reset each time after refuel. I spoke to my dealer and they mentioned that this is an option.. I was able to get the 'range' to display be default but haven't been able to figure this out yet.

View 3 RepliesShort, the dome and interior light fuse keeps blowing. Car is 2009 hyundai sonata nf. Is the bcm computer gone? The fuse pops as soon as i put a fuse in the car. The car can be off or on..it doesn't matter.

View 3 RepliesI noticed that lately my navi in my 07 GS, hasn't been able to locate the addresses i input. It would say that there's no such address based on the number of the address. If i search up the range of the number (ex. 400-430), then it'll be able to work. When i first purchased the car, it was able to search up the exact address. I was wondering if maybe i might have messed up something that it can't find the exact address anymore. Also, the places i searched up, they're not newly built so it should've been in the navi maps.

I have the car since day one and absolutely loved it since. Starting finally to a couple of Mods, recently installed a Strut Tower Bar, this weekend installing F-Sport Sway Bars (front and rear).
I have a 2006 Camry 4 cylinder. The bigger rubber hose coming out from the power steering fluid reservoir has been leaking for quite some time now. I've tried putting a second clamp on it which has worked but hasn't stopped the leak completely. As far as I understand, the big hose has a certain bend to it so I can't just get any rubber hose from an auto parts store and chug it in.
It is leaking all over the nearby surface:
I need to identify the part number for that power steering rubber hose so that I can replace it once and for all. Once the power steering fluid leaks out, my steering starts groaning whenever I turn it.
Can't seem to find a number for just the bearing and snap ring. All I can find are the dang assemblies.

There was no driving done. The car was turned off, and turned back on a few minutes later and the message was no longer present. The overnight temps were around -15*F, so I'm not sure if that had anything to do with it. There was no other message displayed, but the coolant light flashed for a couple of secs during the initial start but not the follow-up. Coolant level is normal, and wasn't frozen.
Does it come on for multiple reasons or only one?
So, one of the features in late model Toyota nav systems is supposed to be the ability to have the speed limit displayed. I've come across a bug (admittedly, others have too in other vehicle forums) where the speed limit isn't displayed unless you set a destination. After you do, the speed limit for the road you're on will be displayed if you have it turned on in the options menu. If you reach the destination or delete the destination and continue driving, the speed limit will stay on the screen, as it should have been the entire time. Once you shut off the car and turn it back on, the speed information is gone again. Repeat the destination, then delete, and it's back.
I went on their website and reported the bug last Friday and got a call this morning from Toyota. They are having me bring my car in so someone can inspect it next week. The more squeaky wheels...
For reference, I have a 14.5 with the JBL and nav. I don't know for sure if other years are supposed to have this feature. I found the button in the options button at the top left of the nav screen. '15 Highlander people are having the same problem, and I'd guess the '15 Camrys are as well. I'd guess the software driving the units is pretty close to identical.
