I have a 2011 Sonata GLS2.4 and I facing the following situation:
Everything started with the traction light coming on intermittent, then I notice that the cruise control can be activated but CANNOT be set (sometimes it gets set) and now along that the airbag light is on permanently. I put a scanner which said the computer is in good shape, and I was told an special scanner is needed in order to detect what is going on.
I am trying to dynamat my inner doors. I can get the outside door panel off, but am having an extremely difficult time getting the black plastic piece off.
View 4 RepliesBeen having another strange issue(2011 gti) but after searching it seems 50% of people say it's normal. The car starts to warm up and finally reaches dead center 190, then until the car is fully warmed up I notice the temp gauge will drop a bit sometimes go back up then down a little again until the car is fully warmed up then it's fine for the rest of the day. I think it may be normal but the dealer wants to replace the thermostat anyway which requires a ton of other parts to be moved. Looking for opinions if its just how it works and have never noticed before or is it maybe my thermostat beginning to stick??

View 3 RepliesI have a 2013 Hyundai Sonata GLS and my fog lights wont turn on with the HIDs installed but they turn on with my regular halogen bulbs? I installed HIDs on the low beam headlight and they work perfect with the computer warning and anti-flicker. when i installed the fog light HID kit on my fog lights, they just make a quick flicker for like 1 second then they turn off. I have switched ballast, reconnected wires, and thought of switching polarities. Haven't done that yet because power is reaching the bulb.

No code in the ECU. 2011 Sonata 2.4L.
I read that pulling the fuse will reset them but I don't see the fuses being labeled with 'ABS'. Which fuse controls the ABS and TC?
I found ESR along with several ECU but nothing that jumps out at me.
JUst installed Xenon Supply HID fog lights and Low beams with separate relay harnesses.
My HID low beams look great and everything works fine but...
my HID fogs dont turn off, even if the cars off, keys out of the ignition and the the fog light switch on the steering column is in the off position.
I recently had an oil return hose for my turbo and my head gasket replaced. When I picked up my 2011 Sonata 2.0T, the ABS and ESC lights were on all the time. The steering wheel is also tilted towards the right. Could this be related to the repairs or is it likely, like the dealer service department says, that the sensor went bad and it's just a coincidence that it happened at the same time as the repair? When they checked it, I was told that the left front sensor is bad.

View 9 RepliesI've been lowered on coils for the past 6 months. I have been running aftermarket wheels since day one. I switched wheels out and lowered a little in the front. Drove it yesterday morning at 10am,and all three lights came on. Stopped turned the car off and turned it back on and all the lights went away. Drove the car at 6pm and the lights came on. Stopped turned off and on and the lights are gone. Don't know whats going on . The cables that I believe are the abs/ speed sensors are fine no rubbing on the passenger side the wire circled looked like it was at a weird angle but idk. Drove it this morning and no lights. No clue whats going on.

After depressing and releasing the pedal a few times the lights go off, then 2 or 3 seconds later, they're back on even when the pedal is released. This happened all of a sudden. I'll pull the switch in the morning and test it, but what else could it be but the switch, right?
View 1 RepliesI got the aftermarket lights through Yefeng, with quad HIDS. So after a while, Cluster lights, Vanity mirror lights, tail lights, cabin roof lights all started to flicker or strobe faintly. Very noticeable either when lights are on or off, drive or park.
Car has less than 12k miles.
I've been driving it like that with no problems. Except one morning before I left to work, car wouldn't start. (Happened randomly) Battery is good, alternator is good. Could something be pulling power from the alternator? I have no clue.
My cruise control works just fine when my headlights are off as do my brake lights, but when i turn the lights on the cruise won't engage and the brake lights don't work. I've got 150K on the car so no longer under warranty...
View 1 RepliesI have a 2012 Sonata for 4 years. In the past year I've experienced the ABS, Brake, TC lights staying on. Then had a bad battery and a headlight go out. Got all that done but after 4 months on new battery, it failed, and the 3 lights came on again. According to codes, dealer says the issue is a valve and they cannot give an estimate for repair but to tear down the valve and probe to find it, will cost me $132. That doesn't set well with me so I elected to drive on with lights on. They did say the battery & headlight issues were not related to the 3 lights staying on.
View 1 RepliesA week into owning my Sonata, I noticed the right tail light had become ajar, with the plastic fittings completely snapped off.
I had to take it to the dealership to get it serviced, whatever, problem solved. Right? Yesterday, the left tail light snapped off in the same way.
I have not been hit or gotten into any kind of accident for that matter. I got it serviced again today and asked if this was some kind of a defect in the car.
For both tail lights to snap off is really a mystery to me.
I just finished installing my interior leds from Diode Dynamics. I am having one small problem. The dome lights and map lights stay on very faintly. The weird part is had to get a new led board for the dome light and I put back in one of my stock bulbs and all the leds are off but once I put the second led in the dome area the leds have faint light look again. I have a sunroof so I have the dual lights.

View 40 RepliesI have a 13 Sonata GLS completely stock and today I noticed that the whole right side parking lights and tag lights are not working. I changed out the bulbs and no luck. I also tried looking for a fuse that controls them and no luck. I also disconnected the battery to try and reset and nothing.
View 1 RepliesI know I'm not the only one that think the dash illumination lights are too bright! Even when turn turn them all the way down, yes they go down but still too bright. Any mod to make the inside lights dark? I have thought about buying tint and tint the over the speedometer and the clock and radio... Not sure how it would hold since its plastic......
I use my personal car for side work (at night) and need sit in my car and if the car is running and I cut all the lights off, and use the emergency brake to cut the day time running lights off, the dash lights go bright...wtf. I've also thought about removing the fuse for the lights, but I read the same fuse is used for the airbags as well.....
