1996 K2500 Sub. My driver's door inside handle broke. I can get just the handle, or the whole inside unit w/handle for about the same price. Any difference in installation? One easier than the other?
View 1 RepliesSo the driver door handle on the inside is no longer solid... it pulls out about 1/4 inch and pulls everything with it. Is this going to be a major adventure to fix (ie ripping the door apart?) or is it something pretty straight forward?
View 2 RepliesWe just bought our 2008 Elantra. The door handle just fell off. I have a warranty and have been trying to get the dealership which has been futile. The handle is plastic. I am tempted to just glue it. This is not the greatest first problem to have right after buying the car and bein unable to reach the dealer.
View 2 RepliesI have a 2007 Sonata and the rear driver side exterior door handle broke. How to repair it? Does the interior panel need to come off? I see a screw under the pivot side and an interior bolt through an access port from the inside.
View 1 RepliesI had my '09 F-150 Super Crew lock punched out on driver side door. To prevent this from happening again, I am replacing that handle with a handle for the rear door that has NO lock. I will no longer have key access to the truck. I am also ordering a spare remote. Is there anything I should consider before following through with this decision? Why I shouldn't do this? Is this a common thing to do?
View 14 RepliesOn my passat, the right passenger door handle does not work from the inside. I recently had the window replaced on that door because window slipped.. But since i got the window fixed, the handle inside does not work properly. It opens the door, but you really have pull and push the door open. I only found one screw at the bottom of the panel inside to take it off, but the rest of the panel feels pretty tight, and i dont want to break anything either.
View 4 RepliesMost of the info I could find recommended replacing the entire glove box, and removing the center console to do so. I found a replacement door on ECS tuning's website, but I can't find a DIY on replacing the door/lid only. Any way out on replacing the door only, are the same steps required/removing the center console and taking the entire box out, or can the ECS tuning lid be fitted without as much disassembly?

Apparently the plastic connector/retainer to the door latch cable is broken off so that the handle no longer moves the cable.
Does the replacement door handle come with the connector/retainer to the latch cable?
To complete this repair, does the whole inner door panel have to removed or simply the assembly around the door handle?
I have a 2002 xlt excursion. My passenger rear door handle is broken. It is the plastic clip that hold the linkage rod to the assembly (slotted) inside the door. I can't find a diagram to get a part number. Just not very technical looking things up... looking for a parts diagram or a part#?

View 7 RepliesI'm having trouble figuring out how to remove the interior rear door handle from my 2009 Sonata. My wife scrapped the back door along a concrete parking post. I was able to find a replacement door in the same color, but the interior doesn't match. I'm able to get both door cards off but cannot for the life of me figure out how to remove the inside door handle.
I have: removed the screw and slid the handle over to get it off the side of the door. Popped the two cables off the door housing and was able to remove the cable from the door handle connection. But for the lock switch mechanism, that appears to be encircled by plastic and I can't see a way to remove it without breaking the locking mechanism.
I always have humidity marks on the black portion of my interior door handle area and it seems like the water that gets in the door doesn't flow out completely. It kinda pools at the bottom in between the 3 small holes at the inside bottom of the door. The drain holes are clean but it seems there is a lip the water gets caught on.

View 11 RepliesWent to get into my B7 this AM and the outside door handle won't open the car. You pull on the handle, and nothing. It pulls out like normal, but acts as though it's not connected to anything. After getting in the passengers door and crawling over the console , the inside door handle moves maybe an inch, and then stops, feeling like something is jammed. Just made an appointment with the dealer, and he said they've had a few problems with the cables inside the door that controls the handles and latch.

View 15 RepliesI have the car door apart, how to remove the panel on my camry. I got all the way to where I have to remove the outside handle to completely take out the part that has the actuator built in. Everything is all good until I got to this part. How to finish getting the handle off so the part that goes into the electrical mechanism where the actuator can be removed is done. I got the mechanism basically hanging there. I got the two bolts to what I thought was holding the outside handle on. One bolt is on the side of the door covered by a rubber grommit and the there inside the door in the middle of the handle.

It will not unlock the driver side door with either from the handle (while key in your pockets) or with the key fob (when pressing the button). If i go to the passenger side and place my hand on the handle it will unlock the doors except the driver. Is there any remedy to this? Does it have to do with the Actuator?
View 2 RepliesToday I took the car in for the 15k service, I asked them to reprogram the car so that when I touch the driver door handle it would unlock all 4 doors. I went to my car this afternoon and this did not happened as I wanted.
