I just bought a 2011 Tiguan S. Loving it so far, but I can't seem to get the high beams to stay on? I'll pull on the lever and it'll go on but then will snap back. I thought it was strange since none of the cars in our family does this. I tried turning it on with the headlights turned on as well and it wouldn't work.
View 3 RepliesThe other night on my way home, I flipped on the high beams and the low beams didn't shut off. Flash to pass still works, and pushing in on the end of the stem turns the low beams off as well.
Having the column switch apart, is it possible this could be fixed without having to pull the steering wheel? Or, am I better off just spending the hundred dollars of so and putting in a new part?
My regular beam light stopped working today. If i pull back on the high beams, both come on and work, however, if i push the lever forward to leave them on permanently, they don't come on at all. Is this because the regular bulb is out, or is something else wrong?
View 6 RepliesI love this car- i just bought it , but it has one problem i cant figure out .The high beams didn't work at all -till my mechanic figured the prior owner took out the two fuses - now they stay on all the time - even when the car is turned off . My guess is the light switch - my mechanic said it is probably more than that...

View 2 RepliesFirst time driving my 'new' 2000 7.3 Ex and the high beams won't stay on for more than a minute or two. Playing with the switch in the driveway, they came on after a minute of not being run, but after throwing the switch a few more times, they wouldn't come on again. The indicator light corresponds with the high beam function. I'm thinking a relay is going bad? The switch is brand new and the bulbs are definitely working. Also, I did not get an owners manual with the truck, and the fuse diagram I found online did not match the box at my left knee.

I have noticed if I am on low beam with fogs on, switch to high fogs go off, switch back to low, and fogs come on but highs stay engaged until I turn off fogs, the go low beam... I have heard this has happened before with other trucks and that it was called a Bambi something? And that there was a possible fix...

View 18 RepliesI have a 2011 ford ranger XL and I get no high beams. My low beams work fine but when I try to either activate the high beams or pull for the flash to pass they do not illuminate and the indicator on the dash doesn't come up either. I have replaced the fuse with a fresh one, even though it didn't need to be replaced, and also replaced the headlights as well cause one was burnt out.

View 14 RepliesI have checked fuse 46 and 47, and installed new headlight bulbs. I have high beams, but no low beams. I have searched this topic but no one has the same prob it seems. My headlight switch has broken. Could it be the headlight switch?
In my manual, it says the 2002 has a fuse panel behind the glove box. I took glove box out but it doesn't look like a fuse panel.
I recently installed new halo HID headlights in my 2003 f150 with HID bulbs and ballast the passenger side worked and the drivers side didn't nth lights wired exactly the same. I switched everything from the passenger to the drivers side still nothing I switched everything back to passenger side and they don't work now. I tired regular bulbs in the passenger side an it worked then on the drivers side and it worked for a split second and went out and then I retried t on the passenger side and it worked for a split second and went out a now neither are working. I checked all the fuses and their good. What the problem could be?

I changed the bulbs no luck they still only work on high beams checked fuses they looked good is there anything else I can check?
After spending weeks ordering parts and doing research on this issue all my attempts have not solved the issue. To reiterate the issue, the high beams work, and the low beams do not. Thus far I have attempted the following without the desired result-
1. Changed the headlights out just in case both bulbs burnt at once.
2. Changed the blinker stalk in hopes of a faulty switch.
3. Changed the headlight switch to a brand new OEM Euro style switch.
4. Checked all fuses (did this first actually).
It ford related but I just bought a used car that has hid low beams and when you turn on high beams there is no light at all. The blue light on dash comes on and head lights go off. I just got this car 2 days ago and haven't really looked into it.
View 5 RepliesHave just picked up a 2011 Tiguan Highline, and there is a loose clunk in the front going over high frequency bumps in the road. I own a MKIV Jetta TDi and it feels similar to bad sway bar bushings on my MKIV, however it's not the bushings on the Tiguan.
I crawled underneath and tried to find looseness in the suspension with no luck. The sway bar end links seem tight (compared to the MKV Jetta I also have), and the strut mounts do not seem to be loose.
What I did find were some suspect control arm bushings. I'm new to suspension noises in this platform, our MKV has been flawless for the past 7 years. Could these worn bushings cause a loose clunk?
I also checked the subframe bolts and fuel lines that come up in common searches.
Just picked up my new 2011 Tiguan High Line today and after I got home I realized that the driver power seat does not work. Is there a way to reset it myself? Or I have to go to the deal again to have them do it?
And also, the fog lights do not turn on. I tried to turn on all the light while vehicle is parked in the garage, but everything works except fog lights. I referred to the Owner's Manual and pulled the nob out, turned it to the required location, but nothing happens.
How to modify this light so that it can stay on with the low beams? This light only works in "auto" mode.
View 1 RepliesI have a 2001 F53 chassis Coachmen Mirada. My low beams, and only the low beams, blink off and back on ea. 2 seconds, and the low beams stay on with highs on. I have confirmed with a friend who has the identical model that the lows should go off. The dip is momentary and happens regardless of anything else. The highs don't blink and do go off when they should.
The headlight switch seems to work normally. The multi function switch does turn the highs on and off as it should. Both sides behave the same. The Daylight running lights are separate and work fine. The high and lows are 2 different bulbs. Where do you think I should start checking? With previous cars I was led to believe that a headlight that goes off meant a breaker being tripped due to a short or bad breaker. I can't find a breaker to check.
During my break in period, it seems to be only about 30 seconds, however, as of late, it's been a couple of minutes. Typically it's about 3 minutes, but last night it ran for close to 5 minutes.
