Is it true I can never have different types of tires between front and rear? Even if the size is the same? I put on winter tires the other at the front. The result was a nasty noise when I would accelerate and release the pedal suddenly... I had to switch back to my old summer and (unequally) used front tires.
I wonder why that is. Furthermore, the wear on my tires is not equal between front and back.
I have used (or tried to) the rear window exactly twice over the last year or so and it has never opened easily.Is there some trick to opening the rear window? I've searched the manual and threads and have come up empty.
As reference here is what I've tried to open it:
-Using the key fob and door buttons to unlock the "trunk"
-Pushed button under the wiper blade housing then pulled the housing to open the window
-Pushed the button under the wiper blade housing while simultaneously pulling the housing up to open the window
-Used the door button to unlock the trunk and immediately ran to the back of the truck to open the window
-Used the convenience function (meaning did not push any buttons)and pushed the button under the wiper blade housing while simultaneously pulling the housing up to open the window
BTW, the hatch is always closed when I try to open the window.
As I said, I used some combination of the above to open the window twice after numerous attempts. Last night I tried everything and could not get the darn thing to open so I used the ski bag and rear seat pass-though to store what I needed while the front of it rested on the front passengers' armrest. I don't think anything is broken, it is likely that I just don't know how the darn thing works and the manual stinks.
I have a 2004 v8 phaeton. Recently I found out the front shocks cannot work properly to absorb the shakes. I can feel stiffened and the car swayed badly on those light offroad. How come it doesn't happen to the rear shocks but just the front one?
It is so uncomfortable while driving in my car. I also drove it to vw 4s and have the tire rotation, wheel alignment done, then they checked the air suspension and said it still worked. Actually they didn't make my car being better, coz when i drove it back home i can still feel the same, shocks are tough and the car swayed, I wondered if the front shocks have been worn out. Then I ask the advisor from vw if he can order the new parts for me, then he answered they cannot replace them for me, coz it is air-shocks, i am so confused , what's that mean by air shocks?and air shocks can not be replaced?
My budy took his touareg to the dealer today because his front tires are wearing funny (cupping). The dealer said that is normal for the touareg. I am having trouble believing that.
View 8 RepliesNoticed a rattling sound from the front end of the car when hitting certain types of bumps/rough road. Turns out my right front stabilizer bar needs replacing. Dealer has ordered part, and it's covered under warranty. However, I thought stabilizer bars were supposed to be replaced in pairs. Do I need to ask them to replace both the front right and left, or is just replacing the right ok?

View 6 Repliesi have noticed that my front tires are wearing quicker on the inside. that is to say they don't seem to be wearing evenly. have almost no tread left on the insides of front tires and these tires only have about 13000 mi on them. is this and aligment problem? dealer says no.

How much in the front tires and how much in the rear?
My passenger side front and rear windows dont work. Both driver side windows work, just not the right side/passenger side.
Also when I press the master door lock/unlock switch on the driver seat, every door except the rear passenger door works. It stays unchanged so I guess it is not receiving a signal or something is not letting the signal reach the lock.
04 V8 Touareg. The switch for both the fuel hatch and rear hatch dont work. They worked the other day. I checked all the fuses and everything looks good there. I had disassemble the right rear interior panel to remove the CD changer to get at the manual release lever for the fuel hatch.
View 7 RepliesI recently went to Northside Lexus for the two TSB on hesitation. The service lady sent me a print out telling me all the dealer fixes that I need to do. This print out told me that I need new tires.
I went at the one on 1960 in Houston. The service manager looked up my records and found out that I purchased a new set of Michelin Pilot MXM4s in Jan. 2010. I have 12,000 miles on these tires and they are all at 3/32s. He told me that they did not have any warranty. Then we both agreed that this is not right for MXM4s. Bought a new set of Michelin Pilot Sport AS Plus to replace the previous set. He gave me 1/2 off the price of a new set.
We could see that all four tires were wearing on the inside. Discount tire guys told me that Lexus sets the alignment on the LS to wear on the inside. They said Lexus does this on all their sports sedans. Did I have bad tires or did I have a bad alignment?
The front and rear driver's side tires are wearing on the outside edge. Searching about, I find that camber problems are indicated with outside edge wear -- but....

I parked my car in the driveway overnight and noticed oily fluid on all of the tiresand on the ground in the morning. The fluid spill was worse on the driver's side front and rear tires, but was noticeable on the passenger side as well. I did not notice an odor to it. I used the brakes alot on the way back down from the mountains..... I have taken this car places where I have used the brakes a whole lot but have not noticed this before. How bad is this? Is it possibly "normal?
View 5 RepliesI just had my treg serviced. One of the tsb's performed was the remote antenna fix. Range is much improved but one problem; the center button on the key remote which used to open the rear hatch doesn't work anymore. Now when pressed, the lights flash and the hatch does not open. I checked the comfort settings and they are still set at unlock doors and hatch.

View 8 RepliesI have a 1984 jayco mini 25 with a 7.5(460)in it. It has been in storage for the past 3 years and has not been started. It turns over and I do get spark. The problem is fuel. I am getting power when I jump the oil pressure switch and ground at the wires on the frame rail that go back to the tanks. My gauge does not work on either my front or rear so at first I thought it just may be as simple as a bad ground since the ground is used for fuel level as well as the pump but I wasnt that lucky.The tank switch is working, I can hear it. What are the odds of both fuel pumps being bad?

View 1 RepliesMy radio does not work kinda... when i turn the car on it works for a minute just fine, then the volume goes off and i cant put it up or down, but i can use and other function cd/casset fm, change stations and all that i just cant use the volume, or hear anything if i turn the radio off and then back on it works for like 5 sec then same thing happens.... I know sounds like fuses, but why does it work then shuts off?
View 3 RepliesMy air conditioner (from new) seems to work properly only when I'm driving over 50mph. On the interstate, for example, it's fine. Recently I had a passenger who really drew my attention to it. "What's wrong with your air conditioner. You should get it fix!"
It seems that, when I am stopped (as in stop-and-go traffic) or parked with the car running, the air conditioner blows warm air.
Is this normal for this car? It's a 2006 Azera. If not, is there an easy fix?
This happened from day 1, so I just thought it was normal. But I guess it's not.
We just bought our 2012 Chevy Cruze in April (it was a rental return) and in the last couple of weeks the (computerized) radio has started to go berzerk. It doesn't do it all the time -- which is why the dealership hasn't caught it yet -- but when it does, it keeps rebooting itself in the manner of this other 2012. Will the car suddenly die on us without warning? We're going to make the dealership take it back if they can't find the cause and fix it.
