I took the battery out of my key. When I replaced it, my remote does not work anymore. Does it need to be reprogrammed when you remove the battery? If so, what is the process?

Yesterday, I noticed the one of key fobs stopped working (2009 Tig SEL). The key fob battery was dead (tested the battery in another device). My 2nd key fob still worked, so I used that until I was able to pickup a new battery (2032) from the local store. Got home replaced the battery in the key fob that did not work. The key fob now lit the LED whenever I hit any of the buttons on the remote, but would not actually unlock/lock any of the doors / hatch or PANIC functions.
Called my local VW dealer and they to swing by (I work less than 5 minutes from them). One of the techs came out an verified the the key fob did not work, but did light up the LED. He told me they have seen this before and it does not always happen from changing the battery, but here is how he got the key fob to work:
Use the flip out key and manually open the driver's side front door (remove the little key cover on the rear of the door handle). 'Cycle' the key clockwise and counter-clockwise. Doing this locked and unlocked the veh / flashing the lights and sounded the beep. Remove keyfob and then use. The keyfob was now recognized and worked.
I, like many, have had issues with my aux jack and decided to have it replaced with an aftermarket device. My aftermarket device plugs into the rear of the radio in place of the OEM aux harness. After removed the old OEM aux harness and installed the new one and put everything back together i had a problem.
The new AUX also comes with a USB slot as well and it all works properly, thats not the issue.
The issue is that my keyless remote has intermittently stopped working. I got out to lock the doors with the remote and nothing happened. I had no time to fiddle with it so i locked the doors via the keyhole and left it. The next time to went to my car, i tried to use the keyless and voila it worked! it locked AND unlocked. I was releived that it worked. Unfortunately once i drove and parked and tried to lock again - it didnt work . Needless to say it doesn't always work, ususally if i lock the doors with the key and come back more then 30 minutes, it unlocks keylessly.
The remote LED light turns on when i press any of the buttons so i know the battery is fine. I already opened the remote and confirmed the contacts are working properly. The only thing i haven't tried to do is reprogram the keyless remote (which i dont think is necessary).
Random symptoms - there are 3 circular dials (fan control, fan speed, temperature control) in the centre console. Originally ONLY the center dials LED lights would turn on. Now randomly the 3rd dials LED lights turn on again. I wanna start checking fuses but would like to know where to start.
I Have a 2005 Camry LE. My remote is not working.
I had the remote battery changed, and also bought a new one on ebay and did the programming, which was successful, but still not working.
I have changed the batteries in the remote for my MY 2000 Jetta MKIV VR6. Now the remote is not working. A search suggests I need to program the remote using a specific procedure. Alas, I have found various procedures, and so far none has worked.
First of all, I have two keys, Both were functional. One still is.
What I tried:
-Put key with fob in ignition and turn key to accessory mode position.
-Wait 5 seconds
-Hold lock button on 5 down for 10 seconds.
-Turn ignition off and remove key.
-Close doors on car and trey to lock/unlock - not working!
I'm sure I can find a few more suggested methods, but what's the proper method?
2008 rx400h issue with the intermittent wiper setting. I replaced the battery and now. The intermittent wipers are not working. I reset the windows, no issue there, but haven't seen any posts about battery replacement affecting wipers.
View 1 RepliesI replaced the battery in my 2011 Sonata. After the install I reset the radio, clock etc. and everything seemed to work fine electronically. The car was very low on gas and when I filled it later that same day the "Distance to Empty" display in the dash only read 271 miles after fill up. Typically when it is filled it reads 550+ to empty. After three tank fulls the display now reads 375 when filled up. Is there a reboot for this function? Does it have to be done by a dealer?

After i got my work done, i pulled the key and closed the door. when i was pressing the lock button in my remote key, it wasnt working. Then i went inside my car and even the locks and other things werent working.. nothing was working eventually.
View 7 RepliesI have a 2009 F 250 5.4L, couple days ago it acted as if the alternator had gone out and killed the battery. I swapped batteries with a coworker to get the truck home and when I hooked the battery back up, the battery and the alternator both tested fine. I've put the voltmeter on periodically and everything seems to be fine and all electronics are working except for the radio. I did a light test on the fuse and it showed a bad fuse so I tested the fuse and it tested fine and I put a new fuse in and tried the light test again and it failed. What the problem could be?
View 1 RepliesI had left my car for about 30 hours without driving, which I've done before all winter with no issues. Went to start it up yesterday morning to head out and when the key FOB failed to open the door, I knew I was in trouble.
I unlocked the door manually, and put the key in to start it up and the Treg was completely dead and the key wouldn't release from the ignition. After a call to VW roadside assistance, and a jump start, it started right up and I dropped it off at the dealer for them to look at.
The service report says "diag and found low state of charge. charged battery and found passes tests. performed TSB 27-05-01 and cleaned ground point for battery. rechecked OK"
This is a V6 Touareg (there is a similar TSB I understand for V8s).
This morning while attempting to unlock the Touareg, the remote failed to "talk" to the Touareg. We just purchased our Touareg last Wednesday. The low battery warning was indicated when we bought it. However, battery had enough juice so that the remote still worked. I put a new battery in the remote the other day and remote worked like a champ, plus the warning went away. Remote was working great until this morning. Small green light on remote lights up to indicate signal is going out but Touareg doesn't respond.
I unlocked the truck by the key but I do not know how to disarm the alarm with the key. I tried turning and holding the key toward unlock but no luck, the truck does unlock this way, but the red lights still flash indicating alarm is still active. Tried a second new battery in the remote, no luck. Finally, after about 20 minutes, I left the Touareg in the driveway and took our other car to work. What do I do to get the remote back in sync with the vehicle? Also, how do I deactivate the alarm with the key in case the remote fails again?
Is there anyway to make the remote unlock/lock the car from a farther distance? Mine doesn't work unless you're about 3 feet away from the car!

View 10 RepliesWhen I went to unlock my trunk hatch last night the remote did not work. I then attempted to unlock the doors....still no joy. I attempted to lock the doors....nothing. I then manually opened the door, fearing my battery was dead (after reading the numerous battery threads) and the put the key in the ignition and it started right up? I then took the key out and locked the door using the reote. I unlocked the door and opened the back hatch with the remote. The only thing I could think was my step mother had unlocked her Dodge Durango that was parked next to mine...and maybe this confused my poor touareg!?
View 2 RepliesWell now I have to replace the multi function switch due to moving my steering wheel and the headlights sometimes working and turning signals not working. I saw a great video on youtube about changing a Multi Function Switch and it shows where the air bag needs to be removed. I was hoping that since my truck is an older 1997 F250 LD I wouldn't have to remove the airbag. Is there a way to do this w/out messing with the airbag on the 1997?
View 1 RepliesIf Touareg rear hatch actually opens when press the remote or just unlocks? Mine opens only after you touch area above license plate. Also I cant open at all from door switch. Gas Flap also doesnt work from door. I ran output test with vagcom and both the gas flap and hatch work.

View 7 RepliesI unlocked my 2010 Elantra yesterday afternoon with the fob. Opened the passenger front door. Turned on the ignition to Accessory for a while, then turned off, removed key, closed door, and locked with the fob. Sometime after dark, a neighbor alerted me that the car lights were on. I checked, all the doors were completely closed and the trunk was shut. The key fob would unlock/lock the car, but the lights would not go off (they were in the "automatic" position and normally work just as they should). Pushing the lock button twice would not beep the horn, either. So I turned the light switch completely off, and that did turn them off. Even the dome light would not go off until I put the switch in "off" position. By then, the battery was too drained to start the car so I put it on a charger for a while. This morning it started and all the remote functions seem to work as they should.
View 2 RepliesThe battery in my remote appears to be getting exhausted quickly.
The fist time it happened was in 2014 when batteries on both remotes got spent. (for a 2011, I figured that it was normal).
I picked up a 8 pack from Amazon and replaced batteries on both remotes but the frequency of exhaustion has increased dramatically.
Four questions:
1) I know that Executive has keyless entry, but does it also have the remote-start feature?
2) Do 2012 Tregs show which tyre is underinflated or does TMPS just show a general warning that tyres are running low?
3) Does 2012 Treg have a power liftgate and if so, can it be opened/closed with the keyfob?
4) Do 2012 Tregs now come with the backup camera or is it still not available due to the parts supply shortage?
