When attempting to back slowly the T2 revs the engine to about 1700 and tries to over power my brake. My foot is on the brake not the gas at all. The harder you hold the brake the more the T2 tries to over power it. It cause the truck to lunge when you ease off the brake. The is amplified by any pitch to what you backing up. Any slope makes it worse.
View 2 Replies33K and no problems until this morning. Wife gets 400 yards down the street, car "lurches" and goes into limp mode. Transmission won't shift out of whatever gear its stuck in (going forward) Car will back up. Only indication of any possible trouble is occasionally the very first time the transmission shifts in the morning from 1st into 2nd its a little spirited rather than silky smooth.

It is difficult to describe, at freeway speeds they seem to work fine. Around town, say 45 mph and below, the brakes work as though I'm a 16 year old learning to drive for the first time. I'll press a little, and get nothing, press a little harder and they really grab and the car lurches. But it also seems inconsistent, it doesn't always happen.
This has had NO perceptible impact on the "grabby" braking performance. Further, I would describe the hydraulic only braking as "excellent", they work just fine and I do not get any of the pulsing or weird brake behavior when braking with the car in neutral.
I ease off the brake and i hear this rattle coming from my car, like metal on metal. But really high pitched like something got loose or something. Tick tick tick tick. So i give it gas and it goes away. Its only there if i brake and release the brake...So i get home and everything is normal. I go outside and move my car and there's the weird rattle again ...

1. Car "lurches" when at a complete stop w brake fully applied out of no where, so strong that I could easily rear end someone...
2. told dealership car was pulling to right, they said (after some teeth pulling) that a ball joint was replaced and Santa Fe's don't need alignments but in MA this is part of state inspection and considered a safety issue, needless to say, they say I have to pay for it...
3. Rear brakes seem to be hanging up...
All I want is the issues fix.
I have a 1999 Hyundai Accent manual transmission. It's been a great car but over the past few months there is a problem that the mechanics can't figure out. The car is fine driving initially. Once it's warmed up, parked for about an hour, and started up again, it bucks every time I ease up on the gas. It seems to be worse at slow speeds - 30 or under - but still occurs at higher speeds.

View 1 RepliesThis just started 2 weeks ago and has progressively gotten worse. I can take off fine, but when i ease off the throttle to level out my speed (it can be at 30mpg or 70mph it doesn't matter) I get a shimmy in the engine. If i give it gas or let totally off the throttle it goes away.
I've even heard some clanking a few times. Almost feels like a car with a broke engine mount...other than the fact it only does it when leveling out.
I had a local shop just check the basics underneath, axles, mounts etc and they said it looked fine.
No engine light so I don't feel its a sensor. Kinda of makes me think the link between the electric motor and the gas motor is sending mixed signals.
When I ease off the gas in D i hear a clunking noise (not too loud) from the drivers side (and even feel a it a bit in the pedal) over the slightest road imperfections in the road. it is not as loud as bad strut mount noises i have heard on other cars. sounds somewhat like what slightly loose lug nuts sound like except its intermittent. Could it be the ball joints?

Having issue with the hand brake? It works fine, just when I want to release it, the brake light stays on and when you drive away hand brake warning comes up and I have to play with the handle to make the brake light go away after release...
View 8 RepliesI have a 2004 Treg with 28k miles. This car has the air suspension and the dashboard with the LCD display.
When the foot pedal break is released, the break light remains on and the center display sounds off the alarm that the foot break is on as the car begins to roll.
After half dozen additional pulls of the break release handle, the issue goes away. This is now happening almost every time the foot break is used.
Changing the OEM steering wheel to something sportier? I have a 2002 1.8 Passat, without the multifunctional steering wheel. The wheel is huge. I am thinking of changing to a hree 'spoke' wheel, a la GTI or R32.
How would that effect the airbag? What about ease of turning?
My truck has been doing great lately after the major surgery she's been through. She is an '06 F-250, with about 238k miles. I've noticed a few days ago that there is a grinding noise and feeling in the gas pedal. (Or diesel pedal..? ) I can feel it right when I slightly ease into the throttle. It goes away once I'm up and going. But its the kind of grinding that sort of worries me. It is also apparent when in reverse, almost more noticeable.
View 3 RepliesTouareg's reverse lights seem a little dim? I was out in the 'burbs for turkey day and as I was backing out of a driveway to go home this evening I had a tough time with visibility. Granted it was raining a little and I'm used to backing in the city where there is always illumination from street lights, signage, other cars, etc, but it seemed to me that my previous Mercedes had a reverse light that was a lot brighter. And yes, both bulbs were working. to replace the OEM reverse lights with brighter ones?

View 6 RepliesSo I noticed my Treg makes a clunk when I break when backing up. If I hit the gas, then brake, 'clunk'. Sounds like its coming from the rear or undercarriage. Hopefully not serious but its going in for service soon.
