I have a 2014 Toyota Avalon limited and noticed that when you're parked you can notice a sound like water swishing around when your AC is on? This happens intermittently and I was wondering if it was normal but with the radio off in the car just idling after driving and the air condition on it makes this weird water swishing sound.

But when im parking the car, and navigating into my spot; or on an incline or decline or come to a stop i hear swishing coming from the back of the car, like water in a bath tub. Would think its the gas tank but that seems odd, as i never heard that noise in any of my other dubs.. Heard this noise or think maybe water is trapped somewhere. I am really not diggin the fact that my dealer is gonna take the car apart.

View 4 RepliesI have a brand new Camry SE 2014.5 and since day one, when ever I park the car and come back after a short while or when ever I start the car and keep it on for a while, it looses water under the front passenger side. Initially I thought it is the air condition but now I am afraid that there is something wrong with the coolant system. BTW: The temperature of the engine is always in the normal zone. The car is about 2 month and 1500 miles old. What it could be?
View 7 RepliesJust purchased a used 2008 Avalon from my uncle. The car hasn't been driven much the past few years. I'm driving across country right now from Chicago to Seattle. We are about half way through the trip and I notice that the engine has what appears to be water dripping out near the center of it. I have checked the fluid levels and everything appears to be normal. The coolient is full. I have read that it could be the AC dripping water, however, it is a relatively cool day 45 degrees F at the moment and we just had the heat on in the car. Is this something I should be concerned about?
View 4 RepliesMy 1996 Toyota Avalon runs great. However, it is starting to smell musty because rain water is somehow entering my rear passenger door. I have checked the seals and there does not appear to be any leaks where the water could be collecting. When I open the door, I hear water swishing inside the door. The mechanic drilled holes in the bottom of the door but water still stays in the door. I would like to keep my car for several more years. I placed 4 Damp Rid containers on the back seat and they collect water! I replace them every time it rains.
View 5 Replies2014 Avalon Limited, once in a while (mainly when taking off) I get a hesitation nearly to the point of stalling, then it picks up and runs normal. When I mentioned it to service advisor they said it was bought on by the AC fans kicking in. Now that the colder weather is starting and I'm not using the AC I've noticed it hasn't made any difference. Other than that, I love the car.
View 6 RepliesMy 2014 Avalon XLE connects to my iPhone 6 Plus for music and phone - nothing else. I am with ATT. Is there an update coming from Apple or ATT, or is there something I need to do to make the connection work? It's hard to believe that Toyota would not be compatible with the iPhone.

When I start it, I hear a "gurgling" sound, like bubbling water.Sounds like it is coming fom under the dashboard, but can't be sure.Heater core is my first guess, but heat is fine and it seems to be coming from the driver's side - not the passenger's side where the heater core is located.
View 5 RepliesRecently blew the belt that runs the water pump, etc while on a vacation. Had to leave the car at a small mechanic in Winthrop, WA. He replaced the Water pump which had gone bad and the belt that shredded. The car ran beautifully for a week. Now there is this constant rattling sound coming from the water pump area. I attached a video with the sound. The sound will quicken as you accelerate. At cold start up it is usually not present then starts a couple of minutes in.
View 2 RepliesI'm posting for my Dad who recently bought a black 2009 Avalon XLS. He loves the car but there's one annoying glitch: if the car sits too long in the sun, the driver's side door cannot be opened with either the FOB or even by inserting the key in the door. He then has to go around to the passenger side, and either climb over the centre console or reach over and manually unlock the door. What surprises me is that he can't even mechanically unlock the door with the key.
I've spent a lot of time research this, but I've been surprised at how little I've found. Eventually I came across similar complaints with black Toyota or Lexus door locks failing in the heat, but nothing for the 3G Avalon and "heat failures". To confirm, this problem only arises when the car is parked in the sun on a warm day.
I have a 2000 323i BMW and have had water leaking out of it on and off for the past few years. I have tried replacing the hose which has not worked and have been unable to find a leak. Sometimes I refill the car with water and it will be empty in a few hours and there is no clear pattern. It will lose water when it is parked but has also happened when I am driving.

Have a "06 Solara V6, 82K conv. and it's started making a swishing sound under the hood especially upon startup. Sounds like a belt may be rubbing.
View 1 RepliesThere is water sound under dash. I read about clogged drain so I tried sticking up a thin rod from drain line and gets stopped after some length. Should I force it up (push, hit harder) or will that break something? Is there a angle bend?
I did not get a water leak on carpet yet but the sound is getting more so more water collecting? What should I do next?
It's from rain, but only getting to the front passenger floor area. And this just started in the last month. Decades ago I had a VW Rabbit that would get serious water, in all 4 quadrants, in rain or a car wash. But I figured that one out, the "gutter" in front of the windshield was jammed up with dead leaves, once those were cleared, no more water coming in.
So, when this Avalon leak appeared, that was the first area I checked. There was a bit of leaves and twigs, which I cleared away, but the worst of it was on the drivers's side and as I mentioned, no problem there.
Just took 2005 Avalon XLS to place-they said all the sunroof drains are clear (4 drains in each corner). We have to bring it back. Leaks are located in rear corners on two back post and ceiling around rear window.
I noticed it a couple years ago but just thought it was glue that turned brown with age. Can't believe I didn't do anything then. Plus we park car up hill on our driveway with front pointed high.
2006 Toyota Matrix 60k, brake noise when car is off and parked. I hear a noise when I push the brake pedal. It happens whenever I press the brake pedal. I hear it when the car is on, or even if the car is off. It is a squeaking noise that is coming from outside the car. When I open the door the noise is louder. I only hear the noise when I press the brake pedal.

View 1 RepliesI have a '96 4Runner (4WD V6 SR5) with 215k miles which had been running great until I parked it at work for a week & a half business trip and came back to a dead battery. I jump started it this morning and it ran fine until I disconnected the jumper cables, at which point it immediately started running rough (hesitating, almost dying) and the windshield wipers went to the high setting (they weren't on before) and all the lights on the instrument panel were on (check eng, etc.).
View 3 Replies2006 Prius. Parked it last night and it was fine. Woke up this morning to a shredded tire, falling off the rim. (Right front tire). Question, can this possibly happen while parked? Maybe thieves tried to steal the tire but could not? Or, did our teenage son sneak out with the car and damage the tire?
