All lights and wipers just stopped working on my 78 corolla. Replaced fuses did not work. Where do I go from here? I am an absolute novice but want to figure this out.
View 6 RepliesMy '78 Corolla SR5 with 2TC engine, starts sometimes, and sometimes not. If she has rested in the carport for a few days, she cranks right over and goes like blazes. After a twenty-mile run, if I shut her off, she won't start again. Not a sound not a click nothing. But if I leave her alone for a couple days, she cranks right over. I need to take the old girl through emissions pretty soon. I don't want her to go into a coma in the emissions bay. Her mechanics can find nothing wrong.
View 9 RepliesI own a 2000 Toyota Carolla, in reasonably good shape (95,000 miles) with no rust on the body (it was a Texas car until last year). This problem happened in Texas, on the unusual times that it froze, and in Michigan, obviously very often. The car freezes: the doors edges, locks, latches, wipers, wiper fluid, windows, and trunk freeze solid. I've tried using the lock de-icers, hand sanitizer, WD-40, hairdryers, special fluid for the wipers etc. all to no avail. I live in an apartment complex so I do not have a heated garage at my disposal. This is a very annoying problem, which often means I cannot use my car, even though the rest of it works perfectly. I've searched the Internet for more answers, but find none. Clearly, there is moisture inside the car that freezes up in cold weather... but I can't imagine how or why. I've never spilled anything in there, and it's had a long, hot summer of drying out if there had been something there. But on the first freeze of the year, viola: no frigging way can I get into my beloved little auto.

View 4 RepliesSo I took my 2005 Corolla this morning to get it detailed at a Eco Detailing place. They use steam instead of water. When I picked it up it looked good and I left. On the way home I went to turn on the radio and nada. No lights, no sound. The rest of my dashboard was working fine. So I called the place and told the main dude what happened. He said this happens sometime when the doors of the car are left open for three - four hours. He said give it a couple of days and the radio would reset. I'm pretty doubtful. I have all the windows down in the car to dry out any left over humidity.
View 3 RepliesThe air conditioning blower motor stopped working this past summer (worst timing ever). I took it out, put it back in, and it worked again for a day before dying for good. So, I ordered a new one and replaced it. The replacement was working fine for about 5 months, but it then began exhibiting the same problem as the original: it wouldn't come on until after I'd been driving for a while. The new unit never made any unusual noises while running (the old one got noisy just before I replaced it), but now it isn't coming on at all. I find it hard to believe that the replacement blower motor has failed after only 5 months. What else should I check?
View 5 RepliesI have a 1996 Toyota corolla base model,my dome light stopped working a bout a year ago,I clean the contacts and bulb with sand paper,light would then work for about 2 weeks now When I clean contacts light will only work for a few hours. Have tryed new bulbs many times does not make any difference, don't know what to do.

View 3 RepliesDash lights are not working in my 78 F150. The climate control lights come on and are dimable with the headlight switch. I pulled the cluster and the Blue/Red wire has voltage. Which might be the ground? The Seat belt light comes on at start and the left turn signal will blink. What am I missing. Oh the cluster is deteriorating. some of the bulb holes are chipping out.

View 1 RepliesThe rubber (insulator?) around the antenna mast was seriously compromised, I noticed, when it was removed for a car wash (an infrequent occurrence). The radio worked occasionally after that.
Then I had a minor water leak through the vent system due to a blocked drainage lip on the particulate filter. The floor was soaked, causing the alarm to go off without warning (now dried and working correctly), but the radio stopped altogether if i remember correctly.
Then the wipers stopped working when it rained (they worked when dry). Replaced the wiper motor, and lo and behold, the radio works again sometimes - when it's dry out. obviously, i need to replace the antenna mast. Will this correct it?
I have an 2007 v8 in campy white..barely 10k miles on it only one issue my wipers stopped working twice..both times a loose nut fixed by the dealer..while washing the other day i noticed minor scratches behind the door handle on the outside.
View 3 RepliesSo I am pretty lucky that we have had warm weather in SoCal this past week as my windshield wipers suddenly stopped working. Checked the fuses, car alarm arms fine (so no hood up problem), and back wiper works. A call to VW says that my car isn't included in the wiper recall. So, I figured I would check here before taking the car to the shop.

View 5 RepliesWhen driving in the rain, I've had the scary experience of the windshield wipers suddenly stop working. Maybe 30 seconds later, they start working again. I'm just glad the cars in front of me have had their lights on. It even seems that the wipers go the same speed no matter how fast I want them to. Also, the blades do rub against the windshield. Is it the linkage or should I simply replace the blades?

View 4 RepliesI have a 98 chevy astro thats been acting up alot these days! just a few eeks ago while checking tranny fluid it kinda smelt burnt. but topped it up anyway. mind you alot else is going on too. in the last year the horn has stopped working, the wipers work when they want to. the stereo stopped working. there was this wierd clicking noise that drained my battery, it was coming from this little black square looking thing under the dash on the drivers side, I removed it and it never happened agian. still haven't replaced it yet seeming as it ran fine without it. it wouldn't start when it was raining so considering the other electrical problems I was having I had a wire kit done on it and it didn't work. it turned out to be a cracked coil, which was replaced. just this last week the heater stopped working and now it started doing this this morning.
View 4 RepliesOur 2015 Prius 4 with 8,900 miles just suddenly stopped chirping and turning the lights off upon locking. The courtesy lights also no longer work (the lights worked last night as I approached the car but not tonight. The locking chirp/beep worked 3 hours ago but not now. Also headlights no longer go out after double clicking lock on either of the 2 fob.)
