Tried all the steps as out-line on 100's of threads. When I open and close the door I do not hear the chime or buzz to tell me that that step is done and of course no chime at the 7-second mark nor at the 15 second mark.
View 3 RepliesFor the past few weeks on my '11 Ltd. when I turn the engine off & open the door the chime starts; doesn't do it all the time, just occasionally, & I can't figure out why. I've tried turning the ignition off with my foot off the brake, on the brake & neither way seems to make a difference. Sometime it chimes sometime it doesn't. I've checked to make sure the seat belt warning chime is off, even though that doesn't make any sense, the seat belt is not the door open warning. how to stop the chiming?

View 14 RepliesGot a 2002 Ranger XLT v6 auto w/80k on the clock. When I exit the truck and close the door with the key in the ignition the chime dings for about 10 seconds before stopping. Is there a way to shorten this? ( Other than removing the key.)
View 2 RepliesFor some reason the buzzer for when you leave the dash lights on doesn't buzz or beep. And since then there's been a clicking noise coming from the fuse box area while I am driving. my steering wheel controls and horn don't work for some reason but i found out that its fuse #5 so ill be replacing that, but why its clicking/ why my car doesn't buzz when the lights are on when the door is open? is it just a fuse? or an electrical gremlin?
also i installed a 7" monitor in my dash and for some reason it doesn't turn on and turn off with the car, my stock stereo did how do i get this one too. and is there a way to splice a wire so that the steering wheel controls will work with it? the audio store i bought it from said its a 100$ part for it to work. and another expensive part for my 6 cd changer to work with it.
When our 2008 Outback (75K miles) is running the garage door remote in the car will not open or close the door. New batteries in the remote, so that can't be the cause. We have to turn the car motor off, operate the remote, then start the car again. We have to follow the same procedure when getting back into the garage. This just started about a month ago and does not happen with any of the other cars in the garage when opening or closing the same door, i.e. the remotes operate with their motors running. Is it possible there is some new electrical discharge from the car that is causing this? Something unusual with the alternator? Other possible causes?

View 2 RepliesThe door chime, yes the door chime. I have searched fairly extensively using the search tool, on a way to stop the chime when the door is open. I could care less about it chiming when you put the key in the ignition or when your seatbelt is unbuckled (because I always wear my seatbelt you seatbelt Nazis). I am curious if that little switch that is pressed when the door is closed, that stops the chiming, controls anything other than the door, the headlights and the interior lights. I don't care if the lights don't come on inside the car when I open the door.
I was considering taking the switch out and grounding the sensor so the car thinks the door is always shut. I am regularly cleaning out my car because my children think its a trash can, and I like to listen to the radio when I do so. I like to have all the doors open when I'm sitting in the car scrubbing only god knows what off of every surface of my car, so I can get a nice breeze to keep me cool. Don't tell me to "roll down your stupid windows" or "just close the driver door", I don't want too; enough said.
Everytime I open the door to get out of my 08 LS460 the warning bell rings incessantly.
The only thing I can think of is that I'm usually in a parking garage and the lights are on due to the auto-feature on the lights. But, I think sometimes it rings even though the lights aren't on.
Sometimes you open the door but don't jump right out of the car. Is there anyway to disable this ringing bell?
Over the weekend I installed a LOC and amplifier w/sub to OEM stereo in 2013 Camry SE. System has touchscreen and navigation. Prior to installing I disconnected the battery so I wouldn't have any surprises. Well, I got one anyway. After everything was reassembled, the car now chimes when the driver side door is opened (haven't checked passenger door) even when the key is out of the ignition. This happens even after remotely unlocking the doors. It looks like there is an option to remove door chime when opening the door. I know this doesn't apply to when leaving keys in car.
View 1 RepliesOur car was rear-ended (we had a great shop to the repairs and the car drives/looks like it did pre-accident). However, the navigation door magically stopped working now that we have the car back. The navigation screen still works fine, but the open/cose buttons will not make the door/lid open.
On other threads I have searched here, people have suggested this could be from the door being off-track (not the case here), a broken motor (could be the case), and/or a blown fuse (also could be the case).
What fuse I would need to check if it is in fact a fuse? I've looked at the fuse boxes in the engine bay (by the battery) and in the trunk, but all fuses look fine. Is there anywhere else I should look for a fuse before wasting a day at the dealer to diagnose/fix the problem?
My 2007 ES 350 will chime if the car is on and the door is opened. It will also warn you if the car is on and the electronic key becomes out of range.
One day both of these features stopped working. Everything else seems to be working just fine.
Annoying key chime whenever I open my door the truck starts making a annoying chiming sound. Where the chime box is??
View 5 RepliesI'm trying to get an F150/1997 started that's been sitting for about 2 years. After installing the battery, turning the key, nothing happens. No click, no turnover, nothing. The dash lights come on along with open door chime.
What to check first or troubleshoot this? The vehicle was running fine when parked, battery removed. I was thinking the brake pedal switch might be corroded, or maybe someone unplugged something under the hood or tampered with something.
1994 F150 4X 201,000mi ... Replaced clockspring, now have chime alert with door open and key NOT in ignition. Chime shuts off when the door is closed.

View 10 RepliesI just bought a 2002 SC430, 62,000 miles, silver/saddle near perfect condition on owner, all records for $17,000. The radio door is stuck open and won't close. How to fix it? [/COLOR] Also the radio antenna will not go all the way down - about five inches stays up. Are the two problems related. Like others mentioned, I could eat off of the engine and the trunk still smells like a new car.
View 14 RepliesI have a 2000 Excursion 7.3 and having problems right now because my Door Chime and Dome light dont work when the doors are open. But for some odd reason, when the rear door is open, the dome lights work. The 4 doors doesnt work yet the rear door does
The reason i want this is because i want to install an alarm and the door signal is needed and it is suppose to be tapped at the dome/chime so when the door is opened, the alarm will sound so it is not just relying on the Shock sensor.
When opening Power Rear Door , the door will open then immediately close . After going through this initial opening, the second attempt will open properly & close only when Power Door Button is depressed. Recently had some engine work done by Dealer & wondering if door settings may have been disturbed. 2005 RX330
View 11 RepliesWe just upgraded our Prius from Gen 3 to Gen 3....a 2012. Great ride, just drove it from SoCal on a Sierra Mtns road trip, a little hiking and snowboarding for our spring break. What we failed to notice upon purchase was a passenger door whose controls want work! The drivers door can lock the car and operate the passenger window and lock. However, the passenger door switch won't open or close the window, nor will it lock the door. All other doors and locks work normally.
View 1 RepliesSo, I've had the car a couple of months and things just keep getting stranger. I've been through my 2nd Airbag fault and now it's been returned from the dealer and every time I open or close the door the speakers "thump" once. I decided to remove the stereo to be sure it wasn't my IPod causing the problem and with the stereo disconnected the speakers still " thump" once when you lock or unlock the door. It's just a nuisance but I'd like to get it resolved because it will also sit in the garage and randomly thump for no reason. Another new strange occurrence is that the alarm now works, whereas before it was so quiet that it could hardly be heard. I suspect something between the door lock and alarm being the problem but the dealer is clueless. Other weird things like the seat not always moving when you put the key in the ignition , the alarm going off randomly when exiting the car are happening as well.
