In my 1999 Jeep Cherokee, with a 4.0L inline 6, I need to find the color of the wiring harness wire from the pre-catalytic convertor oxygen sensor. I think it's the black with dark green strip, but I have found conflicting information on the internet and in my Haynes book.

I bought a new radio for him prior to the "CUT" and the new radio comes with a simple wire harness (2 green, 2 purple, 2 white, 2 grey). The picture shows the factory wires attached to factory module. The "New" speaker wire harness identifies which wire is for what speaker but I need to know what factory speaker wire would attached to the new wires. View 14 RepliesI have a 99 f150 XL 4.6, 5 speed. I spent some time tracing the leads around the ignition system to find the EDIS module. The purpose of this is to install a aftermarket tach coming off the EDIS. This seems to be a simple approach and I have a pin diagram handy for it. I am initially shying away from tapping into the EEC. Maybe better yet, what wire color to splice behind the gauge cluster that would be useful too.

Started it this evening and went to the store, on my way there the car was right messed up. No lights, wouldn't go over 500 rpm (no throttle response), eventually was stuck on the side of the road. Reset my throttle back to OEM and everything went back to normal, car hasn't shown any trouble since but it's only been a couple hours. I don't want to end up stranded somewhere so I'm wondering if my computer is possibly failing or should I try replacing the throttle body if it does it again?
Car is not chipped and was OEM throttle before (to my knowledge).
How to identify the speed sensor wire? I want to put a switch inline with it but not sure how to figure out this wire..
View 1 RepliesI posted recently because my '05 Touareg had been in twice for a "coolant overheating" error when the car was driven less than three minutes after a long cold start. They replaced the main computer and I had it back for a week and everything was fine. This morning, the same error occured. We took it in. When my husband drove it to the dealer, the warning went away after several minutes. They said that the error never logged on the computer and there's nothing wrong.
One person had responded last time with the sensor issue but got it resolved. I am really concerned about the possible problem that they can't seem to fix. They seem to be ok with it.
I'm still trying to get my project 2001 Prius to attempt to start the ICE. I can drive the car around electric only, so MG2 is OK. I see a pulse of current going to MG1 as it does it's startup tests. So I'm thinking maybe the MG1 position sensor is faulty. Where on the transaxle the MG1 position sensor wire is located?
View 9 RepliesTrying, to retrofit the TPMS 'clearing' button for the system that uses ABS. Easy enough to fit the button, but need to run a wire to the ABS module. Took out the glovebox/cubby hole hoping it would reveal where the main wireharness goes through the firewall, but there is a big plastic unit behind the glovebox. It would have made life easier as the ABS is right in front of the glovebox but guess I'll need to take another route.
View 2 RepliesI have a 2008 XLE Camry. I have/had problems with squirrels eating wiring in my vehicles. I checked my Camry the other day and noticed the wires were eaten off a sensor.
The damaged connector is behind the engine cover and located on the left side of the black plastic cover directly behind the engine cover.
The connector is white plastic, has two thin wires black and black/white. This connector is attached to a large yellowish nylon base on the end of this black plastic cover between the engine cover and firewall.
What is the purpose of this connector. Everything works on the car although gas mileage dropped off about 2, which could be attributed to this winter blend ethonol.
