Ford - F250 :: Interior And Cargo Lights Flash When Vehicle Is Cold

It gets pretty cold. My F250 Super Duty Diesel does pretty well with one exception. When it is cold out (30 to -100), the interior and cargo lights flash when the vehicle is cold. It sits all night in the drive way blinking. This is a problem as it has killed two sets of batteries and I look pretty weird going down the road with my lights going blinky blinky blinky until what ever makes them go off happens.

I then hear a click over by the light switch(es) but have had the vehicle checked by two different garages and they can't figure it out either. Someone said something about oiling up the door latches. I have done that several times and that hasn't had any effect on my problem. My non-mechanical mind is wondering if it might have something to do with a short in the diesel warming system. Just as an aside, I do plug it in starting at 20*F when its going to sit for long periods of time like overnight.

Ford 6.0L Power Stroke Diesel :: 2004 - Interior And Cargo Lights Stay On?

2004 Crewcab Lariat longbed 4wd. My interior and cargo lights stay on. I got in the other day and opened the truck to start it and when I closed the door the lights stayed on. I did a search and tried the following:

Lubed all the doors
Pulled door switches apart to verify operation
Disconnected the remote keyless entry module
Disconnected the instrument panel
Disconnected light switch
I found the following:

When I alarm the factory alarm with remote the alarm chirps once with doors closed, twice with them open. Looks like door switches are working.

Disconnected light switch. Lights stayed on

Disconnected Keyless entry module, lights stayed on

If I disconnect the instrument panel I can hear a relay switch. That tells me the relay isn't stuck. The lights do turn off at this point and will go off when I pull the fuse for the instrument panel.

Door switches all seem to work fine as eveidenced by factory alarm operation and the door opening indicator turns off.

Not sure where else to look and my Google Fu is not very strong today as I could not find anything like this issue.Is there another module that could be bad?

Ford Super Duty (1999-2016) :: 2012 F250 - Dome / Cargo Lights Stays On

I just bought a 2012 Ford 4x4 F250 6.2 gas, when I get out of the truck the dome light/cargo light stay on for 9 to 10 minutes before they go out, someone said to spray the door latches and this should clear up, I have tried that and the lights do still stay on, there is an error code of left rear door ajar, my guess is something/sensor or switch has to be replaced, wondering what it takes for replacement/repair of the switch

And now for something completely different....This just started, Close either door and the dome light and cargo light stay on much longer than they used to. Timed it and they do finally go off after about 1/2 an hour. Everything else seems to be functioning ok. I searched the forums and didn't come across anything the same, however I got the impression that there is some kind of solenoid/switch that controls this function. 2002 f250 XL 4x4 Regular cab.

Ford - Explorer :: 1997 - Interior Lights Will Go On As If Unlocking The Vehicle

I have a 1997 explorer sport. I can get out lock the doors and as I am walking away, it will unlock it self. Also I have noticed when looking out the window at it at night that the interior lights will go on as if I was unlocking the vehicle.

I have even noted when I get into the truck in the morning, sometimes it continues to try and unlock it self when it is already unlocked. I know that the little security light in the dash does not come on anymore when I lock it.

Replacing the Remote Anti-theft Personality (RAP) module? Is this the black box in the left rear fender with my door code on it?

Lexus GX 2004-09 :: Interior Lights Randomly Flash On When Accelerate From A Stop?

So, my wife tells me that the interior lights have been flashing on. When she accelerates from a stop that blink on for a second. I figure she has not shut a door well but it appears that she has. I have not had a chance to check the doors.

Grand AM :: Service Vehicle Soon Light Come On - Exterior Lights Not Flash When Lock / Unlock Car

I had the service vehicle soon light come on the other day and it took out the gauge back lights, fog lights, and tail lights. Also, when I used to lock and unlock the car with the remote the exterior lights would flash, now they don't. I check all headlights and tail lights and none of them are burnt out.

I picked up my V8 yesterday. Overall great car. I spent several hours at the dealer working out little things and doing some shakedown driving. So I finally am ready to pull the trigger. I pay, they hand me the keys, and I am off. It's now dark, the dealership is closing, and I have to drive home. I get in the car and the floor lights in the front (where your feet are) and in the floor of the rear cargo area won't go off. I play with every control in the car and cant get them off. The overhead lights turn off - no problem. Then I get home and turn the car off. They still wont go off. I have to pull the fuse to get them off so it wont run the battery down. Then I notice that the red instrument panel will not go off either - end up pulling that fuse too.

Dodge - Durango :: Cold Weather Lights Flash And Wipers Come On

I have an 06 Dodge Durango. When the weather is cold, say 30 or below, and the engine is still cold, my lights, inside and out, will turn off and then back on quickly. Also, under the same circumstances, my windshield wipers will come on, back and forth 3 times. Never can tell when these things will happen exactly, just that it happens whe it is cold outside and the car is still cold. Took it to a garage, but they couldn't find a problem.

Ford Super Duty (1999-2016) :: 2012 F250 - Interior Lights Not Working?

I have a 2012 F250 and am having a problem where the interior lights wont come on with the dash switch or when the doors are opened. I have confirmed that it is not a bad fuse, also the lights will come on when the switch on the individual lights is manually pushed, but not automatically like they are supposed to. I dont see it being a door switch issue because the door chime comes on and the stereo goes off when the doors are opened after turning the ignition switch off. I've read that the dealerships will switch out the BCM. I thought maybe the dimmer switch next to the headlight switch but there is no power to it whatsoever, which also I can't dim the instrument panel lights. What did you do to resolve?

Ford Super Duty (1999-2016) :: 2001 F250 - Interior Lights Not Working

Just got a 2001 F-250 Super Duty (crew cab, long bed, 4x4, 7.3L turbo diesel) and have been going through and fixing a lot of little issues. The one that now has me stumped is the interior lighting circuit (which is also the bed light). Here's what I've got so far:

Map/reading lights work, but dome lights do not (neither automatically nor when turning them on via the dimmer switch). Verified all fuses in the PDC as well as the interior fuse panel (behind the driver side knee panel). The interior lighting relay was missing, so I purchased and installed it.

Relay #1 (interior lighting), fuse #4, and fuse #14 are all good - when I pull the fuse with the door open, the relay clicks (and clicks again upon reinstalling the fuse). With the doors closed, the relay clicks when activating the interior lights via the dimmer switch.

The LT GRN/YEL wire is hot, and all related accessories work (map lights, engine bay light, etc).
The BLK/LT BLU wire is not receiving power from the relay from what I can tell.

Before I start trying to pull out the fuse panel to start checking connectivity, anything else to check? The ground at the rear driver corner of the cab is good, and a visual check of the harness running down the driver side of the cab has no visible signs of damage.

Also, given that the relay is audibly actuating the way it should, I'm guessing that the GEM can be ruled out as a possible cause? My next step will be to get a pinout diagram for the relay and crimp a quick jumper to see whether or not it's simply a defective relay... But I doubt it's the case.

Volvo - S40 :: 2007 - Hard To Start When Cold / Headlights And Interior Lights Flickering

I've had my '07 Volvo S40 2.4i for almost a year. It has a little over 60K miles on it and is serviced regularly. Within the last 3 months, I've noticed some weird things happening occasionally:

-Trouble starting when cold (I understand this is pretty common with a lot of cars.)
-Headlights & interior lights flickering
-Going over "bumps" in road causing dash display lights to illuminate for a second, radio to shut off, and loud system "BEEP" comes through the speakers (this has happened 3 times total, all on the same day.)
-AC stops cooling periodically I've had the system scanned for the AC issue and it seems that there was a "Pump pressure" message that cleared itself at one point and am guessing the same thing has happened the next few times it's done this.

I also asked that the battery be checked to see if it needed to be replaced soon. The mechanic said the battery was fine and thinks it's something wrong with the entire electrical system.

Ford F-150 (2004-2008) :: Map / Dome / Cargo Lights Won't Turn Off

2004 F-150. Today, I noticed the map/dome lights wouldn't turn off no matter what I did with the switch. Also noticed the cargo lights were on as well. Pulled fuse #24 (appears to be good) and that seemed to fix the problem: lights are now able to be controlled by the switch. When I reinstall fuse #24, same problem. Also, battery seemed to be drained and the radio pre-sets were gone. Am I right in suspecting the battery saver relay? If so, which relay is it and can I replace it myself or is it factory soldered?

Ford Super Duty (1999-2016) :: 2008 - Cargo Lights Did Not Lit Up

Two days ago I noticed that I had one of my cargo lights that didn't light up---I took the light off and the bulb was blown, and other was OK. I picked up a couple of bulbs and I replaced both of them. Now, neither one will burn. I checked the bulbs with an ohm meter--they were good---checked the #10 fuse at the passenger kick panel and all OK, but I don't have voltage at the light sockets now. If the bulbs I used were a greater wattage than the originals, would that have sent an overload signal to the SJB (smart junction box) and stopped the supply of power to the lights? I'm tempted to put it right back where I started, with the one good, used bulb and see what happens then.

How to go about turning off the signal flash when unlocking the vehicle? I grab the door and the signal flashes twice indicating unlocked, I do not like announcing to my neighbours every time I unlocked my car. My dealership tells me they do not know how? I have a 2008 F350 Super Duty Regular cab long bed 4X4 I have no cargo light and no third Brake light, checked and even replaced bulbs. Still have no lights up top, what to check or how to fix this? Can I tie the cargo light into the dome light inside without screwing something up? I can't understand why they stopped hooking the cargo light to the dome light but this one seems to be wired separate. Would love to get these lights working again. When I bough t the truck the cargo light didn't work and I thought maybe the bulbs were burnt out, I never checked the brake light I tried to get the cargo light working and that's when I found out the brake light didn't work either.

Sometimes my door chime will elert when I shut my car off (push button start ignition) and I notice the flashing key on the dash flashes yellow. It doesn't happen all the time however. Is this a sign that my key fob battery needs replacement?

Ford F-150 - 1997-2003 :: Intermittent Muted Beep Coming From Somewhere In The Interior Of Vehicle

I have an '03 Screw which I've noticed now has an intermittent muted beep coming from somewhere in the interior of the vehicle. I've had the truck for 9 years, and this is the first time I've noticed it. It seems to come randomly but no more frequent than 2-3 minutes apart. As I am typically driving the vehicle, I cannot stop to locate the source. It reminds me of the low battery beep on my Blackberry, but like it's tucked away in the console or glove box (I checked - it's not the BB...).

I have a recurring SES light which is attributed to cylinders 1&4 misfire (discussed at length in a different thread), but I don't know what would cause this beep. I have read about the 5x5 "airbag light" beep, but this doesn't seem consistent with that. It does not seem like a repeating pattern - just a single beep, which sometimes varies slightly in length but is consistent in pitch and volume.

It's another thing in the growing list of gripes that are pushing me toward selling it. Just afraid of something big coming along unexpectedly... trying to manage the little things so they don't turn into that big one.
