I did a self induced abortion by taking misoprostol and I bleed only for one day and it has stopped. I still feel pregnant, is the abortion unsuccessful? I have read others had the same problem but I haven't read replies to it. Can someone help me? What should I do?

I decided to have an abortion and was scheduled to put 4 misoprostol pills into the vagina, I did this yesterday around 8PM, it is now 9:30AM. Shouldn't the bleeding or extremely painful cramps have started by now? In concerned that the medical abortion is going to fail. Please if there is anyone out there that has experienced this, please share your experience. I was 4 weeks from my last period, and 1.5 from conception when I got the abortion.4 days before inserting the misoprostol, the doctor gave me a shot of methotrexate, which was suppose to postpone the pregnancy until I inserted the misoprostol. I am then suppose to insert another 4 pills 24 hours after the first dose. And it is now 11:53AM and still no bleeding.

Sunday in 1 pm in the afternoon i Started Heavy bleeding that my pads soaked with blood and some Blood clots then i Stop bleeding in 8 pm in the Evening. Suddenly after 1 week i again started bleeding..i visited to doctor.she did ultrasound and said minor tissues are still there, may be that comes outside with your next due date..which should be september 16 and she gave me some medicines. After 1 week i got fine and only sighting was there. I again started bleeding like periods on 12 september and got fine after 6 or 7 days but spotting and little clothing is still there..
Now its been 6 weeks almost and still there is little spotting and little clotting..like 1-2 drops daily
is it normal or is it fine.?
My girlfriend took this last night and got cramps as she thought she was going to come on but never did and no blood. Could it not have worked? She was sick about one hour after taking it.
View 3 RepliesI was 7 weeks 3 days pregnant i had a medical abortion last evening at 6:05 by keeping 4 tablets of Misoprostol (800mcg) I experienced headache and drowsiness and shiver around 9:30 I throw up everything I eat in lunch and 9:45 I got my bleeding but slow the cramps were mild I had my dinner n at 10:40 again took second dose of Misoprostol (800mcg) under tough since then I am experiencing loose motion my cramps are mild bleeding slow with clots in It.

I received the methotrexate shot on Thursday, and on Saturday morning I inserted 4 misoprostol pills vaginally. A few hours later, I got some pretty bad cramping (wouldn't call it severe, but definitely like a really bad period). A few hours later, they completely went away besides the occasional discomfort. I had no bleeding (or spotting, not a drop), so I went to bed hoping to wake up in a puddle of mess (never thought I'd HOPE for that).
I woke up this morning with still no blood. Took the second dosage in the morning and again, 12 hours later, NOTHING. I don't even have cramping (very mild discomfort, but I think I just feel that way because I'm expecting pain or something. Might all just be mental).
This has been a really rough few days for me (I found out I was pregnant the same day I received the shot) and the idea of having to perform a surgical abortion after all of this seems unbearable. Has anyone done a medical abortion and didn't have blood/ bad pains until DAYS after?
i am 4weeks pregnant i had an abortion pill called mifepristone and misoprostol firstly i took mifepristone and i feel a little pain in my abdomen after 48hrs i took another 2 tablet of misoprostol and still the bleeding dnt happen, and so after 4hrs i took another 2 tablet of misoprostol, but still the bleeding dnt happen... its been 24hrs now.... and i don't have any pain bt i feel sleepy the whole day.... is my pill not working or?

View 1 RepliesI am five weeks pregnant, I did a sonogram and it was implanted in right place. I've tried to terminate it with Cytotec three doses of 4 pills of 200 mcg orally (under the tongue for 30 mins before swallow) after every 3 hours. Have experienced cramps a very little red spotting. 24 hours later, i've expelled a little bit of brown clot, and two days after another piece of clot. But no bleeding at all. Does that mean that i need to repeat the dosis, if so, should i insert it vaginally?. Or should i have another sonogram to confirm that?. This is an illegal procedure in my country, and unfortunately cannot keep the baby.

After 5 hours i feel something in my underwear it was like a jelly with brown blood then red blood came out and then spotting only. After 4 hours the bleed was so heavy and pass 2 small clots and then 1 big large cloth the bleed was heavy for 3 hours and pass another 2 medium size clots. After that the bleed was lessen the following day i only spotting brown blood. Then totally stop the bleed on 3rd day. I feel relief but i doubt if my abortion was successful its been 11 days now since my abortion done i only pass thick yellow discharge minimal. The symptoms are gone but still i have heartburns and fast pulse rate. Im very confused right now is my abortion successful?

On the first day I had light bleeding not to much and it continued until May21 and it got heavier so I asummed it was my period and it Continued for a few days and it got lighter so I figured it was stopping. But it didn't so now i'm still bleeding til this day and. So I started my birth control on the 21st of June. And I started bleeding heavier again so I assumed its my period again. I was raped (not what I'm here to talk about), and found myself pregnant. I had a medical abortion two weeks ago.
Within the first 6 hours I experienced heavy bleeding and cramps, passed large clots etc. By that evening I was feeling OK, I was able to eat something and the had stopped passing clots. I continued to bleed and haven't stopped since (although it has often been light).
Two days ago I was in the shower and blood started dripping out of me quite fast, and I passed some small clots. I was in the shower for about 10 more mins and then it stopped.. I went about my day, no more clots and changed pad twice.
Yesterday I got up.. Had a shower. Same thing happened but this time it didn't stop and lasted about 7 hours. I had no cramps but it just wasn't nice. I was in an empty bath passing clots ( some very big) for ages, then I put a pad on, tried to rest, and when I got up to go to the toilet more clots would come. I definitely lost a lot of blood yesterday so feeling tired today... But I'm sure wondering has anyone else experienced something like this two weeks later? I slept ok.. Had shower this morn.. No clots.. Back to a light bleed. Just wondering if anyone has had a similar experience and if you think I'm done with these horrid clots now.
Well the reason I decided to post on here is because I wanted to not only share my experience, but to see if anyone else experienced anything similar to me. I had a medical abortion last week. I started with the first pill on Tuesday, then the misoprostol on Wednesday. Shortly after taking the misoprostol, I began experiencing watery diarrhea and bleeding began at the same time, just a little bit. As the day went on and I took the remaining two tablets, and the bleeding began to get worse. I passed two rather large clots in addition to the smaller ones, and I had to look to see what they were. One of them just looked like a bunch of tissue like muscle stuff, so I assumed that was probably the embryo. I also passed something that looked like a little sac on a string (placenta I'm assuming). I had absolutely no pain while this was going on. I thought I was lucky and was going to get away with that, plus I almost never get cramps during my period. Wrong. Later that afternoon, I had some mild cramps but I had been taking pain killers in preparation of cramps that day. By that night, around 10pm I couldn't sleep I had bad cramping in my lower stomach and back, it felt like someone was tugging me. My cervix was also contracting and I could feel it as if someone was sticking a needle in it. I took more painkillers and finally got to sleep around 2am.
As the next few days went on, I experienced pretty heavy bleeding, but not anything alarming. It all seemed fairly normal and what I expected.. I also had no more cramps beyond that first night. Now today is Wednesday, one week later and I woke up this morning and felt cranky and miserable. I started having cramps like my worst period would feel, maybe a little more. My bleeding got pretty bad. It was running right out over the pads, it was like someone has left a faucet on trickling constantly. I had to shower at least three times. I started to panic and thought about calling my doctor, but the thing is, abortion is not legal where I live. I got this pills through another source. But as the bleeding seemed so bad, I thought something just had to be wrong and I was going to call the doctor but I could barely move without leaking. The last time I took a shower, I decided to get out and sit on the toilet for a bit. I suffer constipation pretty often, and I hadn't gone #2 for a few days so I started straining a little. Up until this point, I think my subconscious held back anything I'd feel the slimy feeling of a blood clot coming out, and I'd tense up to avoid it. Not on purpose mind you. But this time I held nothing back. I strained and pushed just like bearing down to give birth (I have 2 kids so I know how that feels). Well suddenly I felt a huge gush, and this very large clot similar to what I passed the first day come out. ALong with some smaller clots that kept coming. My cramps shortly went away after that, and the bleeding has slowed right down, so I decided to not call a doctor after all. I'm thinking either something didn't pass until now, or maybe that large clot was blocking the remains from coming out and now that is why the bleeding has slowed down.
