I'm looking for some advice i have suffered palpitations for years but have been told its nothing to worry about, however recently its been happening more often and also a very heavy crushing feeling in my chest but blood tests and ecgs are all normal. I cant believe this feeling is normal?
View 1 RepliesFor three months now, I have been having strange problems with my heart. I have been experiencing a (mostly intermittent) heavy heartbeat. I'm a 170 lbs 5'10'' 23 year old male in fairly good health. I work out regularly (mostly strength training).
It all started three months ago when I started noticing my heartbeat. It felt most like palpitations, which I have had before, but mostly it was just an odd sensation. Eventually, it turned into a really extremely heavy heartbeat. When I would lift something light or just get up, it would feel like it was pounding out of my chest--really unsettling.
About three or four days after the symptoms started, I started having extremely bizarre symptoms when I tried to go to sleep. I would begin to drift off, and it would feel as though I was aware of my loss of consciousness. I would feel really light headed and it just felt horrible, like I was going to pass out and die.
Before the symptoms started, the only thing that was different to my knowledge was that I changed my diet a bit. I was trying to really gain some muscle. I was working out 4 days on, 3 days off and increased my protein and carb intake. I was having a protein shake after my workouts that included whey protein and creatine supplements.
As soon as the symptoms started, I immediately stopped everything--the intense workouts, the supplements, and the over-eating--I just went back to normal. Oddly, the symptoms persisted, and only very gradually got better across three months.
I also decided to see a doctor initially, and had been to the ER two more times on top of that. I also saw a cardiologist. They all did blood tests, checked my thyroid, got a chest X-Ray, and did EKG's. I even got an cardiac echo. And nothing. They told me I was 100% (heart and otherwise) healthy.
After three months, I am still having symptoms. At times, my heart does seem to be beating normally, but about half the time or more it will kick start and just go crazy. Sometimes for seemingly no reason, and other times when I begin significant psychical activity. I would be able to live with this, but its the issues I have when trying to go to sleep that are the worst. Just last night, it felt like as I was drifting off, my heart felt really heavy and "chunky" and almost felt like it was beating against my ribcage or something else and making my inside shake. Really weird. (I have these symptoms during the day at times too).
I also have minor but bizarre pains that I can feel in the center of my chest, and sometimes in the top of my back. I have experiences odd tingling sensations in my chest, arms, finger tips. I also have sensations as if I get one really strong heartbeat. I will be sitting doing something and feel a big beat and my chest that makes me jump almost. I don't know if is a palpitation or what, but my palpitations have never felt like that before.
I am just really tired of dealing with this. Because it has to do with my heart I can't ignore it, especially when it disrupts my sleep. I have been told it could be anxiety but I just don't think so. Symptoms come on randomly and when I am not even thinking about it. I admit, I obsess over my heart a bit some days, but it is just because this problem seems so impossible.
I would like to think my diet is fairly decent, I do eat some garbage sometimes, but I try to get plenty of fruits, vegetables and water. I don't drink much at all and have an occasional cup of coffee. I still work out but only 3 days a week (m-w-f). I don't do the protein or creatine anymore. I don't have any other symptoms.
My father is 58 years old and he complained that his arm is tingling and he felt chest pain few days ago. He is also smoking for many years so I am afraid that it may be caused by heart problems. I told him to visit his doctor but he is pretty stubborn and he told me that he is fine now. I am afraid because of this and I don't know what to do.

Something that I've noticed for the past year or so is that in the summer when it's really hot and I take a long hot shower my heart beats really fast and I can see and hear it even stronger. It makes me feel weak and I need to sit down and fan myself for a few minutes.

View 2 RepliesI'm a teen girl, and for about a week I've been getting weird chest and upper back pains and even my neck (like a burning sensation sometimes). Everything in the left side. I went to the doctor and he said that it was costochondritis, but now i've been getting a weird feeling in my head, like a heavy feeling and sometimes headache. I convinced myself that I had a brain tumor because a few months ago a friend if my mom died because of that. I don't know the symptoms of a brain tumor and I'm afraid that if I google them what I have is a part of those symptoms.
I read that it might be because I'm anxious. I am constantly anxious at school and since the chest pains started the only thing that I can think of is that I am going to die. I really need to know if something is wrong with me. I've been to the doctor 3 times this week and he always says the same, but I don't know what to think. My dad told me that I should stop thinking about it but it constantly happens and I can't stop thinking about it.

I am 29 and Female. I have been under a great deal of stress lately. I have been having some minor health problems that cause my mind to go to that dark place. I am having very irregular periods and GERD/Gallbladder issues. Also, I am planning a wedding and my mother was just diagnosed with Lung cancer about 2 weeks ago.
My upper back across the "meaty" part of my shoulders has been so tight and painful. If my fiance rubs them, he finds all kinds of trigger points that are so painful to the touch I can't breathe. In the middle of my upper back I feel a sharp pain sometimes. My neck muscles are tight as well as the tops of my arms down to my elbows. On occasion my fingers tingle.
As of the past 2 days I feel a pressure on my chest right below my collar bone. If I yawn I can feel my throat muscles get sore. The very top of my sternum is tender to the touch. It almost feels bruised.
I did a little bit of research and it seems that all of these problems are connected. The scalene muscle group can cause all of these problems. I am going to see a massage therapist on thursday. Hopefully I get some relief.
Another bit of info, I have a desk job. I am at a computer for 10 hours a day. I work 60 + hours a week. I had a chest CT scan with contrast in July and it came back clear. ( unrelated incident ) So I believe I can rule out anything major. The scan is only 3 months old.
My question is; has anyone else experienced this? If so, what did you do to ease your symptoms? I have tried muscle rub so far. Doesn't help much...I am going to ice the areas today and see if that helps.
I'm 22 years old 6 foot 150 pounds..3 days ago I started having chest pain on left side and my ribs are sore to touch, feels like a knife if u push on them, about 3 hours later my left arm and neck started hurting (my arm feels heavy) and really sore below my left collar bone..no other symptoms except maybe lack of energy..I've tried ibuprofen..aspirin with no help..4 years ago I had a stress test and ekg and they found a mild case of mitral valve prolapse and I was put on 25mg of atenolol...what should I do? I don't have insurance so I don't want to rush to er if it's not life threatening..it's been going on for going on 4 days

View 9 RepliesI was walking through my house not doing anything abnormal and got this sudden sharp lightning bolt like pain in my left side from around the bottom of my neck down through the left side of my chest. It was very quick and so far only happened once but it was painful and really scared me. After it happened the muscles in my left leg seemed to tense up.
View 2 RepliesI was driving my dad to therapy and halfway while driving I felt like a stinging/electrical pain like pulsating a few times and it went away. It lasted a couple of seconds. But it freaked me out. It was like in middle of my stomach like in a straight horizontal like.
I fear a heart attack and idk what to do.
I had 2 blood test done, 2 chest x rays, 1 EKG and they said everything we normal.
I'm not feeling pain now, no weakness, not nauseous, no tingling
I'm just sitting around thinking about my situation..worrying about my health all the time has taken a toll on my body..i'm always achy and sore everywhere..back pain neck shoulders..i just wanna be my age..young and energetic..i have improved a lot from the first time i got my panic attack..nowadays i don't get panic attack anymore..but i'm still very worried and i still do get sensations and sore feeling in my chest..is this really normal for anxiety? will i ever be normal again..i have done 5 ecgs,why can't i trust the fact that my heart is fine.
View 58 RepliesI am a 21 years old girl.I am having a pain in the left upper back, under the left armpit and in the left chest for the last two weeks since I did some heavy lifting during shifting.The pain can be felt when I am stretching. The pain doesn't go with painkillers. I did some searching on the Net and found out that back pain is a symptom of lung cancer. Is it possible? I haven't experienced weight loss,fatigue or hoarseness.

View 1 RepliesI looked up some older discussion about symptoms after LLETZ, seems that everyone's condition is different.
I was told CIN 2 in Dec, 2013 after my pap smear and biopsy. And the doctor gave me a LLETZ procedure in the following week. I expressed my concerns of bleeding post op as i have had bleeding tendency, such as bleeding nose and easy bruise. My doc asked me to have a blood test and they found my platelet is low 140. The reference range is 150- 450, so they think it's okay for the surgery.
Had general anesthetic, and the op went fine(As i was knocked out in seconds). two weeks later, a heavy bleeding started after a short period. And the period was 2 weeks earlier.I waited for about a week to see if it got better, and my pads got soaked through in about 1 hour, i was scared. So I visited my doc and she used the chemicals to burn the wounds and the bleeding got a lot worse. There was this very wet flow i could feel even i was lying still for hours. I became lightheaded and tired after another horrible day of bleeding. So i rang the doc the next day and she admitted me to hospital and gave me another minor procedure to use electricity to burn the area.
A few days later, the bleeding came back again. And i wasn't sure if it is a period now. As i felt i have had PMS for a long time and the color was so bright.
Long story in short, i have been bleeding for 6 weeks after my LLETZ op now. My platelet is low 144 and clotting time is longer than normal.
In the meantime, i also have very upset and bloated tummy. The doc put me on antibiotics and iron. Some times i have constipation ( side effect of iron) and the next day it became diarrhea. I couldn't sleep during the night, tossing around with the mild fever, swelling gastral, stinging aching pain in my lower back, right under the center of lumbar spine. And i had to stay in bed most time otherwise it will cause more bleeding. It is a mental torment to have your vitality killed each day by more bleeding, fatigue and more pain....
After pints of blood loss, i think i definitely have anemia now. A few nights earlier, when the bleeding and pain made me sleepless and i opened my eyes, for ten second, everything i saw in the bedroom became pink! I was so scared that i might loss my vision. Now my vision just became blurry.
Sorry to give you so much detail, as i try to be specific that if someone has experienced the similar situation they can share some light.
My doc is super busy and i struggle to communicate with her and have her listen to my symptoms. And she didn't care about my gastric pain and lower back pain simply because that's not her area.
Did anyone have similar experience? I would like to know if i should see someone about my bleeding, lower back pain and pastoral pain? Is it a side affect from the operation? I really need to get my life back and get back to yoga and hiking again! Appreciated your sharing and comments!
I was hoping someone could help, every month I take my period I have massive blood clots some the size of a small orange, some months it knocks me right of my feet were the pain is that intense I can't walk with pain in my stomach and back..I have an awful smell, headache and feel very emotional, I have had children but this has only started from December..it's terrible I can literally do nothing for 2 weeks then only getting over it when it starts again, some months r worse than other does anyone experience this? If so what is it? My doctor puts it down to heavy periods.
View 14 RepliesDay 18 of secondary rash. Herald patch appeared about 3 weeks before rash appeared (thought it was just a harmless bit of dry skin!).
Secondary rash started on chest then over 1st week spread to neck, stomach, back, arms, thighs and groin (wonderful!). My goodness does it itch!
Went to Docs who said not to worry it's only PR and it should go away as suddenly as it appeared in about 8-10 weeks!!!
The itching was particularly bad on my chest and back so Doc advised using Aveeno body wash and intense cream as well as taking daily anti-histamine. The Doc also said not to run or exercise as overheating can irritate the skin - should also only take tepid showers/baths for the same reason.
Over the last couple of days the rash on my chest and stomach is less red and my skin has started peeling (a bit like after sunburn) and thankfully the itching has stopped where the peeling has started. I am hoping this is the beginning of the end!
It is the strangest condition I've ever heard of or experienced. The Doc said at least it wasn't shingles (as they 1st suspected), but on day 13 when the itching was at its worst and I thought I still had up to 8 more weeks of it I began to wonder if a shorter period of more intense pain/illness associated with shingles would be the lesser of the two evils!!
After a short flight I started experiencing sharp pains in my right chest..... 5 days later was at outpatients where they tested for everything cardiac and pulmonary..... Was sent to family Dr who asked if I had a rash anywhere and my husband said yes as he noticed a red patch on My back while doing up my hospital gown. I had been a bit itchy in that spot... Anyhow I do not have any pain at rash site just the severe pain in my chest. Dr says the pain can present along any nerve.... Has anyone ever had shingles symptoms like this ?

I have small raised dots all over the areas where i sweat during workouts i shower after a workout of course, i've had them for 3days now they seemed to ease off yesterday morning but i had a workout last night, showered then went to bed, this morning they are worse and itchy to boot. I've not had any nodules/abscesses in a week which is unusual for me.

I had the occasional abdominal pains and thought it was chlamydia but they continued after the sti was gone. about a month ago we went to have sex and it hurt as soon as he went to insert his penis. it didn't last long but as he got deeper it felt like he hit a wall or the back of my vagina. I've googled a lot and originally thought it was vaginismus so I started doing kegel exercise and inserting smaller things and getting bigger. it no longer hurts at the start, it only did a couple times but it still feels like I'm hitting a wall about 3 inches in.
