Cataflam Dangerous For Elderly People?

Dec 2, 2007

I had problems with pain and inflammation in my right knee. It hurt like hell when I don't take medicines. I have been prescribed with Cataflam two months ago. It have done wonders for me. I can walk, stand up and go upstairs without any pain. But I have heard that this medication is dangerous for elderly people. Is that true? I am 60 year old.

Anxiety :: Xanax XR Is Less Dangerous?

My dr prescribed 0.5mg Xanax XR twice a day (or as needed) to keep my anxiety more level throughout the day. Does the XR keep the equivalent of 0.5 mg of instant release (regular) Xanax in your system constantly, or is it just .5mg spread out over 12 hours instead of maybe 1-2 hours compared to the instant release?

Also, why would anyone take Xanax XR instead of Klonopin? Aren't they basically the same? My dr said Xanax XR is less "dangerous" but is it? If I stop taking it for more than 1 day (so max dose of 1mg over a 24 hours period, then nothing for the following 24 hours) I start feeling some withdrawal symptoms. Scary. Is this normal? I thought withdraw was only a problem when you started getting into the 2,3,4mg daily range.

Dangerous To Take Clarithromycin And Verapamil At The Same Time?

I have been prescribed Clarithromycin for a lung infection. Had to see out of hours GP because it's Sunday and a long week-end. I told him I also take Verapamil (and Candesartan) for high BP. (I'm also allergic to penicillin so he couldn't prescribe that). When I read the package insert, I note that it can be dangerous to take Clarithromycin and Verapamil at the same time.

High Cholestrol :: Are Statins THAT Dangerous?

I'm a 18 year old female, currently taking 20 mg of atorvastatin every day due to familial hypercholesterolemia. I have tried to control my LDL doing only diet, but it didn't help much, the reason why my doc prescribed me the pills.

I've been taking the medication for three or four months now and I didn't notice any side effects.

However, seeing people complaining about side effects on the internet, especially pain or muscle damage is making me seriously consider stop taking them. Nobody here has any good or tolerable experience with statins to share?

Anxiety :: When People Or Things Change

I get anxiety when people or things change.... even people I do not know.  Today at work I heard that a child who is two years old is on her last days due to numerous problems.  I felt anxiety shoot through my body even though I do not know this child.  I know we all feel sad when we hear something like this but I cannot understand my body reaction to this.  Another example is that there is a house behind me which is now sold and I feel anxiety that they are leaving even though I have never met them and I dont even know their names.  What is this....I don't understand my feelings.

Alcohol Addiction :: Why People Like It? What's The Attraction?

I have been working at reducing my valium daily for several months now. I haven't always been successful but I'm still on track.

A week ago i also stopped smoking.

PROBLEM - my husband is dying due to alcoholism and I really don't understand why he has to drink it at all. He's been to three rehabs, walked out of two (pne after only 12 hours) and successfully stayed dry for six months in one. Needless to say he bought six cans on the way home once discharged.

Why?

Someone must be able to explain to me why people like alcohol. Personally I think it tastes disgusting and causes multiple social problems and violence, so what is the attraction?

All answers welcomed, even those telling me negative things about myself. I'm quite used to hearing them from my husband, anyway....
