Cataract :: World Is Tilted 30 Degrees And Shifted After Vitrectomy (IOL Is 15 Months Old)

Mar 3, 2016

I had right eye cataract surgery 15 months ago, but protein building required capsulotomy. Unfortunately, the doctor cut a square out of the back of the capsule with a laser which floated in visiont (duh!). Further laser blasting left lots of floaters in eye.

Today had Vitrectomy to remove vitreous and gunk. However, I notice now that vision in that eye is tilted 30° and shifted down from where it should be.

No pain or flashing lights. WIll be calling hospital Friday morning (too late tonight)

Badly Tilted Vision In Post Vitrectomy Eye

Long story but I had a vitrectomy today to get rid of a membrane from post cataract surgery when 2 laser surgeries didnt correct it.

Tonight it felt like something was poking into my eye so I took off the patch just to re-adjust the gauze pad in case it was that that was poking into my eyeball. Well I found my vision really bizarre. Its like my eyeball is tilted on its side. With the 2 eyes its like Im seeing two different pictures on top of each other, one ok and one at least 45 degrees different. There is no way I can walk anywhere like that. Ive put the patch back on and I still have that sharp poking feeling but maybe that's just the op...what do you guys think. Is this normal, will it revolve back around to its normal axis?

ps I should say I didn't have a gas bubble so that shouldn't have a bearing on it.

Sleep Phobia? Terrifying World - A Fear Of Not Falling Asleep

I'm really hoping someone can help me here as I recently seem to have entered a terrifying world - a fear of not falling asleep.

This is slowly taking over my life...

In a nutshell, a few nights ago I lay awake all night unable to sleep. The thought of not sleeping was the main reason I couldn't drop off. The thought stayed with me the whole of the next day and so another restless night ensued. Then on the third night, as soon as my head hit in the pillow, my heart started palpitating - at the thought of not sleeping. Every time I thought I was dropping off my heart would beat stronger.

I'm not overly worried about anything else at the moment so it's not as if that's keeping me awake to extremes.

5 days in I'm exhausted and desperate for advice but I have seen my GP who prescribed me 28 Zimovane / Zopiclone

These seem to help me relax but I don't seem to stay asleep for long.

Normally I sleep for 7-8 hours on and off.

Basically the fear seems to override everything and keeps me awake no matter what.

I have suffered from some anxiety periodically but never relating to sleep and the fear of not getting it.

I'm generally a relaxed person, have my own company and need to be able to function and I'm totally at a loss as to how to calm the fear at night.

Has anyone been prescribed something that has worked or has anything other tips...?

Vitrectomy For Macular Pucker - Grey Vision Patches

I had a vitrectomy for a macular pucker a year and a half ago. The main symptom was distortion. After the surgery, I had gray patches in my field of vision, which I hoped would go away in time, since the surgeon said it might take a year for full recovery. Needless to say, I still have the gray patches, cannot read with that eye, and the doctor brushed me off without ever explaining what was going on, as did two other ophthalmologists. I developed the expected cataract and had cataract surgery two days ago. It went fine and was "successful," but I still have patchy vision in that eye. Does anyone know anything about it and if anything can be done? I assume it is the damage to the receptors when the scar tissue was pulled up.

TKR :: Dynasplint To Help Knee Bend (90 Degrees)

I had a follow up today with my DR and I am still at a 90 degree bend.  We had discussed MUA and I was hoping to avoid it.  I have had 6 previous surgeries on his knee due to a car accident when I was 18, I'm now 46. My bend prior to surgery was 110, and I'm just hoping to get back to that and be pain free.  My Dr is having me try a dynasplint in hopes to gain flection.  I'd love to know if anyone has used it & what results they have had.  For the moment, I'm happy to have dodged the bullet of MUA.

Tilted Penis

My penis is very slightly curved, which I know is normal. However, what I'm not sure is normal is the fact that it's tilted in place when erect; the left side of my penis is "higher" than the right - if you'll forgive the fitting but otherwise silly comparison, not unlike the motion of a plane doing an aileron roll.

This issue is not remotely present while flaccid, which makes me wonder if it's caused by masturbation; however, my primary concern is whether or not this is in any way harmful.

Every time I've tried to look it up, I'm met with dozens of questions about a curved penis, and not a one about it being tilted like this.

It's slight enough of a tilt that I honestly did not notice until very recently - within the last month. I don't think the problem started that recently, though.

Pregnancy :: Tilted Uterus

When I went in for my appointment a couple weeks ago my doctor was trying to listen to my baby's heartbeat on the doppler and he couldn't find it. So he felt my uterus and told me that it was tilted backwards. He then sent me for an ultrasound and the baby was alright and they were able to hear the heartbeat. The doctor told me that my uterus wouldn't cause any problems and would not harm the baby, but I'm still kinda worried about it. Does anyone have this and is farther along having a normal pregnancy? Just wondering because I am only 10 weeks.

Gallbladder Tilted Up Touching My Liver?

The surgeon said this was most unusual, why it was hard to remove without damaging liver and is probably why my liver enzymes are still raised and Bilirubin low ten days after surgery.

I have suffered 18 months of severe idiopathic peripheral neuropathy - could this be why and could recent GB removal help to get rid of this pain?

Trying not to get too optimistic but lots of bizarre, seemingly unrelated neurological symptoms have got much better already. However I do have an open wound in my navel where an abscess formed in the keyhole wound and am on several antibiotics now so could just be coincidence or distraction?

I didn't have cholecystitis ever and my gallbladder was perfectly healthy apart from one very large egg shaped stone. So it's really really the contact with liver I'm asking about here.

Eye :: Discomfort After Cataract Surgery

I had cataract surgery five days ago. On taking the dressing off the next day my vision was brilliant and no discomfort.

On the morning of the third day (Saturday) it felt as if I had something in the outside corner of my eye and that the clarity of vision was somewhat less. As it didn't wear off I called the out of hours ophthalmic nurse. She first asked me to check for an eyelash or anything in the eye. Her second suggestion was that I could have a sensitivity to the cheapo NHS eye drops with preservative in them.

We agreed to leave the situation until after applying the next eye drops. Things were no better when she called me back. She offered to get the on call eye doctor to see me at the hospital.

I did not feel that it was urgent enough for that and that I would leave it until today ( Monday)

The discomfort worsened over night and I called the daytime contact number. They took my details and will pass them on to the eye clinic and someone will call me back...but it might not be today.

The feeling is rather like when many years ago I wore contact lenses and I put one in wrongly.

Has any other reader had the same sensation?

Pregnancy :: Posterior Cervix And Tilted Uterus

Does anyone have either of these or know of someone who does and was able to go into labor naturally, were able to deliver vaginally? Or did it just end in an induction and C-section? If you did deliver vaginally were you able to get pregnant again without big complications? I have this and my doctor wants to induce because I am due tomorrow and I still haven't even softened, but I have a large chance even without inducing that I will have to have a C-section no matter. Every female on my mom's side has it and all had to have C-sections, except my mom who had my brother naturally and should not of and had to be artificially inseminated(sp) with my sister and I because she was not able to get pregnant on her own after.

Cataract :: Central Macular Edema

After 2 weeks from the surgery I developed Central Macular Edema, it manifested itself as a round gray spot on my field of vision and could not read also with the glasses because everything was blurred also because my right eye has still the cataract. The ophthalmologist prescribed me Acular to take together with M for another 2 months and asked me to go back for check up at the beginning of April. I was forgetting: last year I was found to have a slight macular degeneration, the dry type and she said not to worry. I would like to know from other people who had the same problem as mine. Is it likely that after 2 months I could be clear of it? Also anyone can tell me how long they have to wait before taking a flight abroad?
