I have had a problem with pain all around bottom of my diaphragm for several months. X Rays, sniff tests show right side is higher than normal but no help offered thus far. All around he bottom area is extremely sore to touch and can't bear to lie on either side. If you press along bottom it is extremely tender. Gallbladder has been removed.
View 1 RepliesI was just recently diagnosed with pleurisy after spending hours running through every test imaginable. I am also pregnant, 7 months, with my second child. I have never felt a pain like this before. The pain is in my right chest and back; at first I was tested for gallbladder problems and that came out clear. I was sent to the ER for further testing where they did extensive blood work ups, chest x-ray, tested for reflux and finally a cat scan. When everything came back clear, they diagnosed it as pleurisy and sent me home with a pain killer. Unfortunately, the pain got worse and I was readmitted to the ER by my OB for more testing. Again everything was clear, this time they were given the green light to give me ibuprofen but only for 3 days with a follow up visit to my OB on day 3 to make sure the baby was alright. So far, the ibuprofen is helping considerably. I hope I never have to suffer through this again. I found the information provided here about pleurisy very helpful especially since I had never even heard of it before this happened.
View 2 RepliesI'm 38 year old female. Back in June I noticed what I would call a sore spot on chest muscle. I spend a great deal of time with rounded shoulders looking down at phone. I don't really feel it so much if I am up moving around. Feel it more sitting if I'm on my phone a lot or in the bed I'm a side sleeper. I can feel it sometimes with a deep breath or cough. Some days I don't feel it at all. Ibuprofen takes the pain away. My chiropractor feels it from my rounded shoulders. Stretching it out helps some to. Is it normal to have chest soreness for 4 months. This is right sided and does not feel at all to have anything to do with my heart.

How to cure without sleeping pills?
I am a 27 years old male and have been suffering from some left chest pain for the past two weeks. The pain worsens when taking a deep breath, exercising, lying down, and even talking. Along with the the chest pain I get a sharp stabbing pain in my back when doing all the same activities. The weirdest thing is I have a hard lump on my chest that is painful to touch. It doesn't get better with ice or heat and pain medications don't seem to help either.
View 1 RepliesI've always had back pain in some form, but however, for the last few weeks especially, there has been horrible pain. To explain where the pain is, the major part that has a lot of pain to it, it like on the right side of my lower back, and I can feel something in there when I lay down on my back especially, something throbbing, and when it twitches really bad, it is almost like a shock. I can feel something near my spine when I twist and turn as well that hurts. I have to be careful how I move a certain way, because the pain makes me jerk a little bit. Another example of this is I had to go to a job interview where you had to go through a physical. The nurse told me to lie down on the bed there, and then she took my right leg, bent it at the knee, and slowly pulled it to the right. As gently as she did this, my lower back hurt a lot when she had done that. There was one time about 1 one week ago where that pain in my back seared up a little bit, and then went down my leg, almost felt like maybe the sciatic nerve was pinched or something. But that went away, but the pain in my lower back is still there.
Now, I do have a hunch back. I always have, and its growing worse. I'm overweight too. I've been sick for the last year, and haven't been able to drive or work. I am going out though this month with a friend to make some money doing low impact work. I sit at my computer, scrunched over yes, and its hard to remain straight. This makes the bottom of my rib cage hurt so much if I sit this long of a time. It feels like something is missing in there somehow.
To give you some stats on me:
I'm 25
Height is 5 foot 11 inches
Weight is 272 pounds
Belly is big lol, chest is small. My grandma told me the other day i looked like I was pregnant.
After my mistake (HIV scare) I have all these symptoms heart wall pain, chest wall pain, radiating pain to the whole body, and headache, and cough and sputum. X-ray 6 times in 6 months and doctors can not see what is wrong with me. Do I have a virus going inside my body? A viral infection?
View 2 RepliesI am a 25 year old female. For about a year now I've been getting sharp stabbing chest pains in my right side which last from 1-14 days. The pain is worse when I take a breath inward and there is no tenderness. There is no monthly pattern with the pains, but I get them at least once every 2 months. I have noticed that every time I sleep on my right side, these pains appear. However I'm not sure whether this is a coincidence or not?
The first time this happened I went to A&E, they did an ECG and checked me for blood clots but everything was fine. Could this be pleurisy do you think? And does anyone know whether sleeping on my right side would bring the pains on. I am getting worried at this keeps happening, I thought it would sort itself out.
i am 18 years old, but the symptoms start from when i was about 13 years old. the occurrence of the symptoms was seldom, but now since i was in senior high school, it started to occur more often. sometimes it will attack several times a day but sometimes it will attack after several days had passed.
the symptoms are pierced-like pain in lungs, heart, or liver. sometimes it happen in my stomach but i assumed that it was because i eat something. sometimes a shortness of breathing happen and i coughed a lot, i didn't cough blood though. can you help me?
I'm a 17 year old female and I'm hoping somebody can help me out. I've been sick and out of school for over a month now. It all started with severe back as chest pains that were diagnosed as pleurisy. We later found out that I did not have pleurisy though. Through a series of blood tests my ANA came back very positive (I took it twice just to be sure, 2 weeks apart from each other) so my doctors were looking at lupus. Those were my only symptoms at the time though. Starting this past Sunday I've been having joint pains particularly in my wrists up my forearms to my elbows and in my hands. When I move my wrists they keep popping too which is strange to me. I'm always exhausted now which is so unlike me. I play lacrosse and am an in shape teenager but everything seems to be spiraling downward for me.

I am 28 year old female. I have been having pain in my left chest, left shoulder and right jaw for about 5 days now. Yesterday, I went to the ER because it felt like someone was stabbing me in between my shoulder blades and I couldn't catch my breath.
They did a rapid EKG and a blood test when I walked in the door. The nurse said, I doubt anything is wrong with your heart its probably an ulcer or something. So they took me to a room and got me settled in. The doctor comes in a tells me my blood test showed that I either had a heart attack or I am going to have a heart attack!! Really?!?? Totally started freaking.
They re-ordered the blood tests twice after that. They came back normal. Both of my EKGS were normal and a CT scan with contrast of my chest came back normal. They sent me home.
I am still freaking out. My left arm/shoulder is really sore. I am trying to re-assure myself that nothing is wrong or else they wouldn't let me leave, right?
I just need re-assurance to trust the doctors and not let my mind go to that place....What could be the problem?
I'm a 14 year old female and for the past month or so i have been experiencing chest pains, near the top of my chests and beat my ribs, its nothing to unbearable but very discomforting. I have really weird left underarm pain. Almost near my armpit. When i stand up i feel a slight shortness in breath. And i feel some back aches. I'm really scared on what could be wrong. Has anyone had symptoms and or know whats wrong? And yes i have spoken to my parents about it and I'm gonna get looked at soon. I'm still really scared

View 1 RepliesI am a 21 year old female. I had sex for the first time a month and a half ago. (protected) Soon afterwards I got a yeast infection during my period that I treated with equate's miconazole. It went away in About a week. Had constipation took something so i eventually went to the bathroom. Then I began to experience abdominal pain (more unusual than painful ... But still painful). So about 2 days later I began to feel a cramp on my upper thigh so that same day I went to the hospital. They did a ct scan and an ultrasound they said I had a ruptured ovarian cyst. The doctor just told me to take medicine for it. The leg cramps got worse and were scaring me so I went back to the same Hospital 3 days later they said it may have to do with the ruptured cyst but when they checked my urine they said I may have an UTI coming on. So they gave me medicine for UTI. They sent me to the GYN who gave me birth control in order to stop ovulation which could irritate the rupture. Soon after that I began to feel nausea, dizziness and chest pains as well as brown vaginal discharge. So I woke up the next morning or so and I vomited. I went to another hospital where they treated me and they said they couldn't find anything wrong so the just replaced my UTI medicine with levaquin (250 mg 6 days in). They sent me back home that night and the next morning they told me to come back because the ct scan they did there found that I had a swollen/enlarged liver and a little fluid around my heart. I came back the doctor said he couldn't find the problem so he sent me home and told me to see my doctor. She told me to discontinue the birth control. My doctor couldn't come up with anything so shes running more tests. Right now I feel a burning chest pain below by right breast also on the left side of my chest and in my mid back on my left side, still dizziness, a bit of pressure behind my left eye, and nausea, still leg cramps/pain, upper back pain. This has been going on for over three weeks.
View 10 RepliesOn Feb. 17, 2014, I had lap band surgery & in the process, surgeon removed a hiatal hernia. I have had no problems at the incision site, but intense pain in my diaphragm, left side, and up my left shoulder..between my collarbone and top of breast. Pain moves across my chest, but the worst in on left side. At 2 week checkup, I was told my diaphragm was irritated and it would go away. I take 4 Advil per day at his suggestion, and nothing seems to help, but lying flat. What is causing my pain & how can it be relieved? Also, I get hiccups several times per day.

View 7 Repliesi been having daily chest pain under my armpit left side and chest pain left side and the pain goes into my arm and i get arm tightness i have had tons of ekg tests done this year going to the hospital blood work x ray and so on and everything comes back normal i notice a lot of the time during the week acid comes up into my throat area so i'm thinking this can be acid reflux.
View 2 Repliesi've just been diagnosed with FS. severe shoulder/neck (left side and back of neck) pain with very little arm/shoulder movement range.
however, can anyone say, if it's 'normal' for FS to cause left-sided chest . chest pain that radiates to shoulder blade, down (L) arm, elbow, wrist, palm of hand, up the left side of neck, ear & face culminating in a hemi -cranial headache?
whilst i know the scapula, elbow,wrist & palm are pretty classic of FS, however, i'm worried re the chest pain/left sided neck, ear pain & headache. it fluctuates throughout the day and is worst in the pm & at night. i did have an ambulatory ECG some 9 ago. it was considered within the normal limits. that was before to-days diagnosis. my GP made a v. quick diagnosis based on 3 arm movements this evening and wasn't interested in the chest pain aspect.
quick history:
- I had a minor chest pain for a year where this was investigated via ECG and appeared no cardiac issue.
-In January 2016 went back to my GP regarding chest pain and lower back pain. Referral request to physiotherapy was made.
-early March, I had what I believe to be chest infection coughed up mucus with blood, NHS 111 advising that this is fine.
- In March 2016, still on physio waiting list and went back to my GP again because the chest pain became very sharper accompanied by sharp upper back pain. At this point no paint at the lower back. GP believes there's nothing they can do apart from just to wait for physio. I was told that the pain is likely from structural problem so no point in investigating further.
-now mid April, I'm still waiting for my first physio appointment and I'm concerned that during this waiting period my thoracic back pain got worse as well as chest pain to the extent that it even hurts when I move eg deep breathing.
