When i wake up in the morning my ears feel wet. I used to use q-tip to get the water out My ears don't hurt. When i put my finger in my ear i can see my finger tip has little water. Where is this coming from. I used to wake up with mucus in my throat and that kinda went away.
View 1 RepliesMy tonsils have been swollen for over a month, until last week they were painless, but now I have flu symptoms. Its quite scary, it affects my swallowing and I have a very very dry mouth, even when I drink loads of water all day. Hasn't affected my breathing as of yet, but feels like a lump in my throat is blocking it off.
This has been going for three days now.
Doctor said I need a blood test for glandular fever, which is next week.
I mentioned that I think I can feel my epiglottis swollen, and she laughed and said that is all the way down by my adam's apple and would have a job feeling that... even though i've seen many cases online where it's visible above the tongue and often can be felt.
I have had them for the past 5+ years now and I have them in my mouth, and throat, sometimes they get around my ear canal, and even have got so back I cannot talk. Most of the time when they are acting up it is hard to eat anything mostly drink lots of ice cold water, or Milk, and eat anything that will slide down easy. I am glad to see that I am not alone in this struggle. I usually feel tired or flu like for a day or so then the sores come in and after a couple days of wanting to crawl in bed and stay there then I cannot eat or talk much because my mouth and throat are blistered so bad. I was beginning to think something was wrong with me until I read your posts. I did not understand why I had them all the time and some people get them once and not again. I guess I have a weak immune system but otherwise I am healthy never have ate a lot of junk, but stress is over the top and this came on when a family issue started. It is in the past but now I get the remnants from all of that for the rest of my life!! Gotta love family. I do by the way love my family, but it is hard sometimes to deal with the drama!! Anyhow Thank you for the posts and making me feel better about being crazy.
View 12 RepliesI'm 20 years old and currently 28 weeks pregnant, for the past week i have been experiencing the constant need to clear my throat/chest, sometimes there's no mucus to cough up and sometimes there is, not sure if i've become over sensitive to my throat or what? I suffer a great deal from heartburn and possibly acid reflux due to stomach contents coming up in my throat, could this be from pregnancy related issues or something more serious?
View 6 RepliesOk so I've had this problem for over 2 years, and its the biggest pain ever. I ALWAYS, and I mean ALWAYS feel Mucus in the back of my throat, I can't clear it away by just coughing it up, or spitting it out, I have to suck it in me. I really try to spit it out, but I can only spit it if I let it build up for awhile, other than that I have to suck it up, and while doing that I make a really annoying noise....something like blowing your nose really really hard, but even worse noise. I talked to my parents but they never believe me, they tell me: Its Psychological, and I've adapted a bad habit.But I SWEAR I can feel it always. We've been to a Allergist, and he said its maybe Sinus, or Post-nasal drip. He said the Mucus builds up in my nose, and drips down to the back of my throat...Although I can't feel the drainage from Nose to throat, but my nose is pretty blocked up. The Allergist said this started because of a past allergy, and I agreed. 2 years ago I had severe Allergy, and once the allergy left, this problem continued on till today.The Allergist recommended Nose drips, and Allergy medicines, but they never helped not even a bit. Next we went to a Nose and Throat Specialist, and she checked my nose and throat and said: Its Psychological, and I've adapted a dirty habit. But I SWEAR on my life, I feel it 24/7 in the back of my throat, but no one believes me not even the DOCTORS! What shall I do PLEASE help. This Mucus is always there, and by clearing my throat (Spitting, Sucking whatever), its makes a noise, that every hates, even MYSELF!!! PS. I tried drinking salt water and everything.

i've had them since november last year, i have a bad mucus in the back of my throat, all the time, and no sense of smell, no taste of food .my boyfriend says i snore and i think this is overriding my personal life and would like to hear from anyone.
After having a throat scope just over 1 year ago (this was done because following a bad virus my voice was croaky and I thought I might have LPR). The consultant said nothing sinister going on and I was diagnosed with allergic rhinitis. I could tell you a lot about other symptoms including ear pain sinus problems etc but the thing that gets me down is the dry cough and throat mucus (which I still wonder might be lpr). The question I would like to ask is after a sneezing fit I get awful throat mucus which has to be hacked up for around 30mins then it starts to subside. I cannot find reference to anyone with this symptom, nor does my gp know why it happens. I should add that in 2001/2 following a cold I had a sinus scan which was clear but was diagnosed with mild asthma. In 2007 I suffered from some sort of virus which lasted weeks and this left me with the sneezing and mucus but as it was only occasionally I just got on with life. I had a sinus scan around this time but it came back normal. Late in 2104 one night afer eating some chocolate I started with throat mucus worse than ever and tried cutting out foods and improved although not completely. I have had ppis over the months but they just upset my IBS. I eventually had a throat scope as mentioned although most of my symptoms had gone during the wait for the appointment. I notice now after any cold which is always worse affecting sinuses etc I have a flare up of this throat mucus this time round a week after finishing antibiotics for sinus infection I am sneezing a lot coughing etc. I was given dymista for the rhinitis but did not take it have tried other similar from the gp but they just dry me up. I also tend to have bouts of oral thrush from my inhalers even though I rinse out. I think that stress plays a big part in all this. I am quite anxious at the moment due to family things. Anyone have this sneezing and mucus symptom.

I'm just starting to see some improvements but now I've got this thick mucus at the back of my throat that gets stuck there, I can't swallow it as it doesn't move much but when I cough it does come up, then slips back down.
I'm constantly having to cough and clear my throat, the mucus tends to sit right near my gag reflex so it's always uncomfortable!
I feel mucus draining in my throat and can't cough it up , feels like a vacuum in side me , when I swallow my throat tightens. Hard to blow nose throat again tightens. When I drink I feel like I'm inhaling! Also have shortness of breath hard to breath through abdomen.
View 4 RepliesI am 16 years old and have been experiencing my latest (and worst yet) bout of tonsillitis for the past 4-5 days. I have been taking soluble aspirin and paracetamol, and today my GP prescribed me some soluble penicillin antibiotics to help fight it off. However, I am experiencing lots of thick green mucus in my throat and a yellow-greenish coating of mucus on my tongue that just will not go away no matter how many times I spit it out. The mucus is causing many difficulties for me in terms of swallowing food and drink, as (with drinks) either I swallow some of the mucus with the fluid or the drink mixes with the mucus and ends up stuck in my throat.
I am going on holiday to Egypt for a week on the 26th June so I really need to get this cleared up before then! Does anyone have any suggestions as to how I can alleviate the pain and get rid of all this mucus?
Hearing heartbeat in ears. Sometimes it gets stronger First symptom is face gets very warm no fever, ears get hot and red and sensitive (right one) and whoosh or tzzing hearing in ears like pulse. It subsides after 8 hrs or less. Impossible to sleep. If I sleep flat on back am awakened 2 hrs later by
very strong heart beat like its forcing a lot of blood thru. Subsides with exercise. Condition goes away for 48 hrs so heart system not fighting infection. If I sleep with upper torso at 45 degree angle still wake after 2 hrs but pulses not as strong. Then after I can sleep for hrs no problem. Dr checked ears ok, did all blood work ok, I'm male 67 yrs and in gen good health. Did ultrasound on abdominal kidneys bladder ok. Seems like some chemical command triggering heart to pump harder and faster not too fast. I tested things to try to determine what triggers the face heat, ears hot and harder beats, chocolate, caffeine, pepsi's, salt, coughing, cigarette smoking, stressful video games have no effect. BP normal am taking Ramipril 10 mg Altace nothing else. Dont think its heart but something telling heart to work hard, feel it thumping in chest. Just repeated T3's blood test..and 24 hr urine special test..awaiting results. Reg urine test showed nothing, and abdominal ultrasound clear. No dizziness, nausea etc. Bowel and urine movement perfect, no pains or lightheadedness.
I have been suffering with this for two weeks and I have no idea which symptoms may be connected to my newly acquired TMJ or my flare up of GERD.
Two weeks ago after a heavy meal and a few days after damaging my jaw I woke up in the night with a weird throat spasm and feeling like I had something stuck in my throat. Then over the weeks I started to get the lump feeling through the day with difficulty swallowing. I lost half a stone due to being unable to eat.
Now I have developed a tight chest, dry throat and lungs, feeling like my lungs are blocked, constant throat clearing with little mucous production, breathing difficulty and I'm still having these nightly throat spasms and lump feeling. I had some of my sons ventolin inhaler as I had asthma as a child and thought the reflux could be causing this but it did nothing.
I have been to A and E lots of times with it and also to my GP who has referred me for an endoscopy but its only in february.
I am going out of my mind. The breathing issue happened after a load of acid came up my throat a few nights ago and it felt like my throat and lungs were dried out by it.
I was wondering if this is a symptom of anxiety from the constant stress and worry l keep getting Lump in throat and feeling of swelling around throat and bottom of jaw i keep panicking i have cancer in the throat

I woke up this morning and I have been coughing/gagging all morning and can taste blood in the back of my throat, I have not coughed up any blood though.
I have been trying to quit smoking since 2011 and have been a smoker since 1991.
I am also on SR Hydromorphone (Jurnista) for severe chronic back pain.
I am also on 800 Mg Carbamazepine (as a Mood stabilizer NOT for Epilepsy)
As well as Mirtazapine (for chronic Clinical Depression)
And Atenolol for mild Hypertension.
Anyhoo, as of this morning I have been hacking up a storm, as of 2 hours from waking up I developed a sore throat (I believe from the hard coughing) I have not coughed anything up but the coughing gets so hard it becomes dry-reaching frequently.
And that taste of blood waay down in the back of my throat is ever present after each cough.
As I have depression and mood disorder, I don't want to go straight to the doc as quite often individuals with mental health issues don't get taken seriously here in Australia, quite often I would get told "Go to your psychiatrist" as if I am crazy. and in the past I ended up in trouble with serious health issues that went undiagnosed simply because some peanut G.P. thought it was all in my head, until I ended up in hospital sometimes in quite serious condition.
So I was wondering if someone who understands this coughing issue could be could shoot me an answer first.
I am meant to go to University tomorrow (I am studying for a Psychology Degree) and I want to be at my peak for study if at all possible.
I have had this problem since November of 2006. I have tried just about EVERYTHING otc all nasal sprays, all antihistamines, zyrtec, mucinex, allegra even the ones you have to show your I'D,neti pot, etc. I have even tried candida and other natural remedies like apple cider and such.I have to constantly clear my throat. I have this thick stringy sticky mucous I'm always hacking up. It seems worse after I eat, exercise, laugh. Also in the morning for the first 2 hours I'm up it's worse. Sometimes I wake up in the middle of the night feeling like I'm drowning in mucous. This irritates all people around me. I've had surgery for my adenoids and deviated septum, before that surgery I could not clear the mucous out, this helped to atleast be able to hack it out. I need someone to be my angel and tell me you have had this same problem and you know the answers since no doctor can help. I feel this is going to be the death of me. I hope I'm not clearing a hole in my throat from doing it so much.

About a month ago(early Feb), I started to have a lump feeling/sensation in my throat and a couple of days later , on one day, it became so severe that I had difficulty swallowing, even saliva. However, a couple days later it became better and almost unnoticeable. I thought it was due to anxiety, cause i searched "lump sensation in throat" and I got "Globus Sensation".
However, about 10 days ago. The same lump in throat feeling came back. This time it was milder, no pain, not itchy, but just feeling something stuck in my throat and its moves from day to day. One day it could slightly to the left, next day could be slightly on the right. I took pictures and saw one or two 3-5mm diameter lump/pus grow on the back of my throat. I immediately went to my primary doctor, who did not take it seriously and said it might be allergy and only saw some redness in my throat and it would clear up on its own. After It persisted for over a week, I went to ENT who did a throat culture. Today I got a call from ENT doctor saying that I have strep throat.(not sure which type). And I started taking Amox just now.
I am worried about it has anything to do with STD because I had a stupid exposure with a SW about 2 months ago(Jan. 7th, unprotected oral and protected vaginal, but I didn't give her oral, I only received for 1min or 2, but my lips did touch her lips slightly twice, but definitely no saliva exchange.) I did
1. urine tests for chlamydia and gono 7 days after the event. (both negative)
2. syphilis rpr tests, one at 4th week, another one at 8th week after the event.(both not reactive)
3. HIV pcr RNA test at 25 days after the event (not detected)
4. did not have any skin condition, such as rash, ulcer, sore, blisters, or canker in the genital area, and checked and confirmed by a dermatologist recently.
So, my questions
1. The only symptom I have is "lump feeling/sensation in throat, not painful but annoying" and recently some dry cough at night and dry throat. Other than that, no pain, no fever, no headache. I wonder besides strep throat, could there be anything else, too? mono, oropharyngeal cancer by HPV? I guess because I did not give her oral, it shouldn't be oral gono, right? I remember having cold sore when I was a child (6years old). Could the lump in the back of throat be any kind of herpes? possibly herpes type1.
2. If the first outbreak 1month ago was also strep throat and I just started the treatment. Could I possibly get post strep disorders or complications, such as rheumatic fever, kidney inflammation etc. by now or later in the future. Do I need to get checked out.
3. Why symptoms of Strep is much milder than described on the internet? due to the fact I am adult?
Every morning I wake up having a very hard erection between 5 and 6 am.

View 11 RepliesMe and my girlfriend had sex on the 9th of march on the night time and I didn't ejaculate, I know this is bad but it just happened.. My me and girlfriend then went and got the morning after pill days later. Since then on the 26th she got her 'period', the bleeding wasn't heavy but it wasn't light. She had blood during the night and then all day during the day on the 26th and on the 27th her tampon was in all day during the day and was brown when she checked and this was brown discharge. We're really frightened that she is pregnant. She is also on the mini pill since she got the morning after pill.
