Hemorrhoids :: Thrombosed Internal Hemorrhoids Not Responding To Injections

Jan 2, 2016

My internal hems. are not responding to a doctor's injections. They (3) are not major, but I wish (almost) they would become thrombus so it/they could be cut out. I had that years ago.

The pain is not so great as to cause bleeding, toilet trouble but the pain is there every day for two months.

Putting on ointments in public toilets all the time to cool the pain. Awful. Inconvenient and interferes with daily life.

Gets worse with stress.

Getting desperate, looking online - Venapro. But online wonder-meds never seem to work so I'm sceptical.

Dealing With Thrombosed Hemorrhoids?

I have a thrombosed hemorrhoid since last week and it hasn't gone down at all. It was so painful the first few days but yesterday and today it doesn't feel pain any longer, just some discomfort.

The gastroenterologist I went to told me to avoid surgery because he said it will hurt a lot more if I have surgery. He advised me to just let it heal naturally. It has been over a week now, but that thing doesn't seem to shrink a bit.

I have been eating a lot of fiber and drinking a lot of water to avoid constipation. I am also doing sit bath, cream, suppository, etc.. but all that don't seem to help getting rid of this thing.

Anyone with experience on this issue? How long does it take for it to go away and anything else I should do to help speed thing up?

Hemorrhoids :: Badly Thrombosed Piles

Have been having problems for around 5 months and sadly have not had much luck with any gp that I have seen not one has given me a digital exam and now I have badly thrombosed piles and have been forced to go to A&E for pain control including taking entonox while they are massaged by the doctor the pain to begin with was the worst I have ever felt infact I could not carry on without the gas.

I now have to wait who knows how long for a operation and hope A & E will look after me until then I am at my whits end and getting desperate.

Thrombosed Hemorrhoids And Constipation - Can't Go To Bathroom

I went to the doctor two days ago for what may have been one of the worst pains of my life, turns out I have an external haemorrhoid and the blood inside it has clotted. I was given scheriproct ointment which is removing some of the pain but hasn't reduced the hemorrhoids size yet. I really need to go to the bathroom (apologies for the tmi) but every time I try I get a blinding pain like something may tear or the hemorrhoid may burst. It's really uncomfortable now I haven't been to the bathroom in a week since this problem started. I'm aware of laxatives and stool softeners etc but stool softeners can only work so far down my colon, which doesn't really help me right now. My doctors surgery isn't open for another two days, is their anything I can do?

Hemorrhoids :: Thrombosed And Hemorrhoidectomy Experience

I'd like to post my experience with these awful, awful hemorrhoids. Let me give you all some background first....so I have a habit of bringing my phone in the bathroom and reading articles, checking emails, social networks, whether, bank accounts, credit cards, bills, but the point is my BMs generally took a few minutes but sat on the toilet far too long, anywhere from 15-30 minutes and maybe longer. I saw having BMs as a perfect break point in my super busy life to get updates on emails and such. DO NOT DO THAT, please God do not make the same mistake as me.

So this behavior has been going on for quite some time and a week or so ago is when it all went downhill. Now I always shower after BMs if I'm home, so I started noticing these bulges in my anal area during my showers. They just went away and they didn't really hurt or anything and my initial thought was, "huh...hmmm that's weird". But other than that, I totally ignored it.

I didn't even really know what hemorrhoids were. So then one Friday night a few days ago I had a BM. Hopped in the shower (as I was home) and noticed another bulge in my anus and initially I was like, "huh, what is this weird thing". Towards the end of the shower I noticed that this time it didn't go away. At this point all I was thinking was, what the f***....so I began googling and soon educated myself on hemorrhoids and made the self diagnosis that I now had a thrombosed hemorrhoid. I immediately called my family doc and Monday afternoon I had it checked out. He confirmed my self diagnosis and referred me to a specialist whose literal job is to look at hemorrhoids. By the way, that weekend while waiting for my appointment was awfully painful, I had a hard time playing with my dog, making love and BMs were the absolute worst. Anyway, my family doc said that the specialist would probably make an incision, drain the dreadful roid and then I'd be fine....WRONG.

So I called the specialist (over 25 years of hemorrhoid experience) and scheduled an appointment later the same day (Monday). I went in optimistic, however, after the specialist checked it he said, "Chris, this is a pretty big thrombosed hemorrhoid, and I'm going to have to remove it. You also have a rather large internal hemorrhoid that needs to be removed as well, I can't just drain it at this level". By the way, it was about the size of a decent grape tomato. So surgery was scheduled for the next day (Tuesday) , a hemorrhoidectomy.

This being my first surgery ever, I was scared out of my mind. I watched the medical procedure on some college website which only worsened my anxiety (please don't do that). The surgery went well and I felt perfectly fine in the recovery room (the drugs hadn't worn off yet). However, the pain started to present itself after a few hours being at home. I tried to have a BM that night but nothing but blood came out, no pain though. After my BM attempt I made a warm bath and sat in it for maybe 30 mins, which really relieved the pain. So this brings me to today, this morning (Wednesday).

I'm currently sitting in another warm bath and the pain is minimal in the water. I have a difficult time walking around as I can't stand up straight. So far the pain has been tolerable and overall not as awful as some other posts suggest. I still haven't had a BM since the surgery about 14 hours ago. Honestly, I'm terrified too. I'll try to keep updating this with comments as I progress through recovery.

I have the idea that when I attempt to have my first BM, it will be in a warm sitz bath. I'll clean it out then hop in the tub, as I heard having a BM in the water is much less painful, gross but I think it will be effective and absolutely worth it. Just remember to stay as clean as possible. This is my first forum post ever so bare with me as I attempt to update. Thanks for reading and wish me luck.

Hemorrhoids :: Recovery After Excised Thrombosed External Piles?

A thrombosed external hemorrhoid popped up Tuesday and had it taken off yesterday. Didn't sleep all night in pain and in quite a bit of pain today.

Wondering what a normal recovery is like? Trying to not get down by being realistic.

Banding For My Internal Hemorrhoids Worked

I've had my hemorrhoids for several years. It started out as a bit of blood on toilet paper after going to the bathroom. I did see a doctor about it and it was suggested it could be a hemorrhoid and was given suppositories and it was suggested I schedule a colonoscopy. I was 28 at the time. I tried the suppositories and they seemed to work so I didn't go through with the colonoscopy, which was probably not smart on my part.

The bleeding stopped for awhile but would come back. Over the next few years the hemorrhoid became large enough that it would stick out when I went to the bathroom and I'd have to push it back in. I finally worked up the nerve to have it checked and found a doctor I felt good about.

I went in this morning to a colorectal surgeon. He and his nurse were very nice. We talked for a few minutes, and then he had me get on the table for an exam. He used a small scope to look inside and said I had several hemorrhoids and that for the kind I had, banding was the recommended treatment. He said he could do it right now and that most people say it feels like a dull toothache for a day or two after the procedure.

The doctor banded the two largest hemorrhoids. The whole process took less than 30 seconds. The procedure was painless. About a minute after, I started to feel some discomfort like I really had to go to the bathroom. That sensation lasted for about 30 minutes. Then it became a dull pain. It's now 10 hours later and the dull pain remains. But, it's nothing unbearable. I was able to go about my normal activities (I was sure to have the doctor be clear on this) and I have been fine. Sitting in a car is most discomforting. Standing or laying down is best. I did sit in a hot bath and that has helped the discomfort quite a bit.

My doctor said the discomfort should go away in a day or two and the band should take about 5 days or so to fall off. I have a follow-up appointment in three weeks to probably band more hemorrhoids. I really thought I only had one big hemorrhoid but it turns out I have several. At least I know and feel much better about getting them taken care of.

All in all, I'm glad I finally had this done. The discomfort isn't a big deal and totally worth not having to worry about it and dealing with it when I go to the bathroom. I was able to take a nap this afternoon despite the discomfort.

I plan to update this over the next week, and maybe through my next appointment. I'm anxious to see how I feel in the morning!

Hemorrhoids :: Internal Or External Symptoms?

I am a 28 year old male i have had digestive issues for years now that we are still working on treating

I definitely have hemorrhoids i'm just not sure if i have internal or external or maybe even both, at times i feel the bump outside but also at times i feel like my stool is being blocked and gas as well

i have started taking more fiber in and my moments are good and regular now but are very painful and i feel like i don't go completely the first time then each additional time i go its harder and harder to get the rest out and also it gets thinner in consistency

i really feel like a hemorrhoid is blocking my stool

i am going away for awhile and i can't get to a dr before hand so im just looking at advice on what i can try specifically for the problem of stool being blocked and dealing with potential internal hemorrhoids at home

Internal Hemorrhoids :: Doctor Cannot Feel?

My sister is 60 years old and is experiencing amounts of blood in her stool lately . She suspects that it is internal hemorrhoids (she had similar condition approx. 3 years ago.) She went to the doctor who examined her and told her that she could not feel any internal hemorrhoids but gave her suppositories and told her to return in two weeks time for another look. My sister has no other symptoms, no pain except for some itching after she goes to poop and no changes in bowel habits, appetite etc. My question is therefore, is it possible for someone to have internal hemorrhoids that a doctor cannot feel?

Only Fresh Blood - Internal Hemorrhoids ?

So - been to the GP today as had fresh blood from backside now for about 3 days with no pain.

She had a good feel around (much to my dismay!) she said no fissures but that I could 'possibly' have an internal hemorrhoid as she felt something 'squishy' but to be honest... She didn't sound very confident!

She's given me some hydrocortisone suppositories (lovely) and said she hopes the problem will disappear as quickly as it came about.

Other than the fresh blood I have no problems whatsoever and no other symptoms.

Also, she mentioned a camera up the bum if it doesn't resolve or gets worse. Help me god!!!

How To Differentiate Between External Or Internal Hemorrhoids (piles) ?

I've been having problems with hemorrhoids for many years now. Probably about 8 years or so (I am 27). It has gotten worse in the last 2-3 years I'd say. How do I tell if this is internal or external hemorrhoids?

I've read up on the symptoms and I'm not sure how to read this. For me, the flare up only occurs after a bowel movement. If i go to sleep right after, the hemorrhoids is always gone. Sometimes the hemorrhoids will go away on its own after a few hours on its own (how? i dont know).

All i know is that it never goes on for more than 1 day continuously because it always goes away when I go to sleep. Any idea which type I have? Its gotten to a point where I dread bowel movements because it makes walking difficult (unless I find a comfortable laying position where it will go away on its own). Hoping there is a way to make the hemorrhoids go away within an hour of the bowel movement.

Hemorrhoids Depression :: Internal, Prolapsed And External Piles

I had piles during my 1st pregnancy and at the birth of my first child but they went within a week so when I got them again after the delivery of my second baby I wasn't concerned, however to cut a long story short 16 months later I have had internal, prolapsed and external piles. I've had them thrombose internally and externally and developed fissures and a Polyp. I've seen 4 different surgeons both privately and NHS and have had an Anal stretch, banding, Stapled Hemorrhoidectomy (PPH) botox injection for a fissure, a polypectomy and just last week doppler guided ligation (Halo) and skin tag removal but here I am laying in bed unable to work, look after my kids, walk or do anything. Everyone is really putting themselves out for me and my friends and family have been great but they can't go on taking time off and asking about me forever.

I still have this feeling of unbelievable fullness, burning, stinging and after the last operation it looks like I have a new inflamed external hemorrhoid. It's gone way past embarrassment for me. I need to get better because I can not live like this much longer.

I eat really well and take lactulose to keep my stools soft but i'm unable to exercise.

Im so depressed and just want to feel normal again. Go for a walk, take the kids to the park, go on holiday, find a job I can't believe all the things this horrible condition is making me miss. I feel like i've missed my baby growing up. I know how lovely it is to be a mum because I enjoyed every minute with my first baby but now i'm a different person in an awful place.

Internal Rectal Prolapse Or Hemorrhoids? Incomplete Evacuation

I've been having problems recently that i'm pretty sure is either internal rectal prolapse or pretty bad haemorrhoids. This has made wiping after a bowel movement very difficult. I have also been suffering from incomplete evacuation, presumably as a result of the blockage.

I tend to use wet wipes but i still find that i am on the toilet wiping for a very long time. Its an extremely frustrating and demoralising experience. I wonder if anyone else has a similar issue? if so, does anyone have any tips so that I can ensure that i get the whole area clean? As i often worry that i haven't been able to clean everywhere properly and that its making me smell bad.

I have tried wetting the wet wipes with warm water, but i find this makes the area more sensitive which causes pain when wiping further down the line.

Hemorrhoids :: After Unprotected Sex?

Around my anus feels hard and lumpy and now today i noticed one lump is visible. It looks like a little bubble/sack of blood. Do hemorrhoids contain blood? I can press on it and push it in a bit it feels soft inside. Do hemorrhoids feel soft and can be pushed or are they hard and solid?

Also the only thing i can think of is having sex with a stranger 4 weeks ago. He wore a condom but i was drunk and can't remember if it came off or broke or if he took it off so i am worried could that have caused this? Does it sound like a hemorrhoid or a wart caused by stds? We didn't have anal just vaginal but i know it's all connected and close together. I'm worried because i don't know what it is if it s a hemorrhoid or not
