Herpes :: Impetigo Or HSV 2?

I've been in a monogamous relationship with my boyfriend for about 4.5 months. We started getting physical about a month ago. I'm a virgin and have yet to do anything physical with a man. He has limited experience. He told me he was tested last May after his last relationship ended and it came back negative. I'm the first girl he's been with since May. We started having oral sex about a month ago. We've gotten carried away and had it unprotected three times.
I got a rash between my butt cheeks about a month ago. No blisters, lesions or burning when i pee. After a week, it scabbed over. I noticed the scab was perfectly symmetrical on both sides. It was like one long scab on each side of my butt crack. Then, I noticed an increase in vaginal discharge. It scared the crap out of me. Normal color and consistency. No odor. Just a lot. I got tested for everything. It all came back negative. It was three weeks after our first encounter. One week after our last.
I went to the doctor. She diagnosed me with impetigo. As it turns out, me shaving that area and then wearing a tight thong and skinny jeans was a bad idea. I've used the cream faithfully and the rash fell off and went back to normal. A bit of itching but I think that's because skin is growing. I talked to my boyfriend about it. He insists that I have nothing to worry about and that in the only girl he's had unprotected oral with. I asked him to get an STD test and he complied. We have to wait a week for the results.
Over the past week? I've noticed a slight itching and burning around my pubic area. No bumps or lesions. No pain when I pee. Plus, I feel an excess of discharge when I wipe. I went to another doctor who gave me a prescription for Diflucan for a suspected yeast infection. She also did a Pap smear and sent it off to test for BV, trich, syphilis and chlamydia. However, in worried about herpes. I made a mistake and went to WebMD and everything points to herpes. Does this sound like herpes? Herpes wouldn't be completely symmetrical. Right?
Other facts that may be important.
I just started to use tampons instead of pads
I douched about three days before I got the rash.
I never wore cotton underway before this. I like cutesy underwear.

I'm 17, and have been getting impetigo from the age of 5 years old, the doctor believed at the time that it was from face paint. I've been getting recurring outbreaks every year since then, normally up to three times a year. However, as I got older I believed I had "grew out of it" (if that's possible) yet I severely burnt my lips on holiday and I felt the tingling feeling straight away after not having an outburst for about a year and a half. One thing I can tell you all is that as soon as you think you can feel the first symptoms of having it use the antibiotic cream (fucidin cream) asap, this will reduce the spreading of impetigo immediately. I've recently just had another outbreak just for being run down and so I now know I definitely will still be getting it. But there is hope, I was given a leaflet about this when I last got the cream from the doctor and it stated that you can get a swab taken from the inside of your nose and sent off to the lab where they will find out if you have the bacteria that causes impetigo living up there. This doesn't mean it will appear around your nose but when you get impetigo due to whatever reasons- mine normally being from stress, being run down, change in the weather etc.- then it will trigger it and appear in the usual place. I researched it some more and it said that your whole family that live in the same house should be checked as they could have it and that's what could trigger you off even if they've never had an outburst of impetigo. I had a swab sent off yesterday and I'm hoping that this is true as they will then give me a cream to kill it from up my nose and supposedly it won't come back. However, when I had this done my doctor seemed to know very little about it and I've never heard of it until now, I don't know why this is so I shall see if it works out. I just wanted to share this all with you as I know how horrendous impetigo is, I hate going out with it and as soon as I feel it coming up I know I'll have it all over my lip for a while.

I took this disastrous trip to Greece (I was completely healthy before the trip) and upon my return last April within a few days I started having this sore growing larger everyday on my chin. Somewhat yellowish and had a 40 C temperature for a week and very sick for another week. I took Doxy for two weeks which apparently did not eradicate the bacteria.
Two weeks later while a big red spot remained on my chin I started having another sore on my back but the doctor diagnosed (by observation) that this sore was shingles (i had shingles on my leg 4 years ago) so prescribed me Valtrex.
Then I started having another yellowish sore on my lower back last month which is likely a return of impetigo since it itches a lot with no pain and the doctor prescribed me 250 mg twice a day erythromycin for 3 months. I have been taking it for 2 weeks now and the sore appears healing however as a result (of likely my immune system weaken by impetigo) I came down with a second shingle in less than a month!!!. Not to mention chest infection last week too on the top of everything else So it appears I am now in a cycle of impetigo and shingles. How I can get out of this vicious cycle I have no idea. I have never been in a similar situation. is returning impetigo (followed by returning shingles, third or fourth in 4 years and second or third in a month) a norm. I asked my doctor to give me higher dose of antibiotics or a stronger one but he refused. What are my options to end this vicious cycle.

I experienced impetigo for the first time about 4 months ago which was treated with antibiotics(flucloxacillin)-it appeared again & treated with antibiotics & a 3rd time-I thought this had cleared when i got it again 1 day before my hols last week & when i returned home this week--I have been prescribed 1 months supply of antibiotics again 4 a day for 2 weeks then 2 a day for 2 weeks also i use fucidin cream----I am 56 yrs old very clean & very fed up & upset--what am i to do about this?

I have this bacteria called IMPETIGO. To be honest it's the worst thing I had in my life. I'm 18 years old and having this kind of bacteria is simply awful. It all started when I returned from the sea side, I was there on holiday with my best friend. During the trip I had nothing, everything was fine, but the last day a juicy wound appeared on my knee. It was itching a bit. The next day when I arrived home another one appeared on my FACE! I was traumatized! I stood like this for 2-3 days, after I told my mom she took me to a specialist. The doctor gave me antibiotics and Fucidin cream. I started the treatment about 3 days ago, the wounds are looking better now. The major problem is that in 6 days from now I'm leaving to London to visit some relatives and they have a daughter, she's 10. I'm so scared that I could give this bacteria to her, I feel so embarrassed. Please help me, could someone tell me if there is any possibility that I can avoid this ?

everytime i get a cold and blow my nose a lot it leads to impetigo just as a i get rid of the cold.
i always get it inside my nostril or just below my nostrils.
my doctor prescribed me fucidin cream which seems to do the trick after about 5/6 days.
Is there a permanent cure as i get it about twice a year whenever i have a cold
would multivitamins help build my immune system so i get less colds or impetigo
also when i'm half way through my cold would it be best to use my impetigo cream before i get the impetigo to stop it early ?

Recently found out that I have genital herpes. It's scaring me because I'm a lesbian and I feel like I will never be able to have sex again. I have a couple of questions.
I'm in a relationship with a woman, would she contract herpes by giving me oral sex when I don't have an "outbreak"? Can she contract the virus orally?
What's are the risks and probabilities?
Can you have herpes 1 in your genitals or is it only herpes 2 in your genitals. What does this really mean?

Hello! I was recently back in February diagnosed with hpv. I had full blood work done and I have no other diseases or infections. I've also not had sex since before the testing. I recently noticed I have two painful blisters, one on the inside of my labia and the other on the other lip. I shave and I've had ingrown hairs but these definitely don't feel the same. They are super uncomfortable. I'm unable to go to the doctor until The end of the week and wanted to see if anyone knew what they might be? And any temporary ideas for pain relief? Over the counters pain killers do nothing. Also, I have extremely bad allergies to pollen and with the pollen, came these blisters, so I am not sure if they are related. I've added pictures below. Thanks for the help.

27 YO male. Been tested a few times with negative test results for HSV 1 and 2 IGG tests. However, from time to time, I get these little sores on the very corner of my mouth (generally on the right side, VERY small, and singular). They don't hurt terribly bad and don't really leave any crusting. Sometimes they are tender and red, but generally not painful (barely noticeable most of the time). I was curious to know if this has happened to anyone else and they found out what it was? I don't think it's herpes, but it shares some symptoms.
I'm fairly sexually active, but I am very cautious as to whom I sleep with, always wear condoms, and give a good check of someone's oral region before I engage in anything. Thoughts?

My daughter recently had an encounter with unprotected sex with her boyfriend, he proceeded to tell her after sex that he had herpes and had only had it for 7 months with only 2 outbreaks, who knows if this is true or not. She broke up with him and I told her to go to the gynecologist and get screened for STDs. she has had no outbreaks and they have not had sex for 2 weeks. they said her pap smear was fine and they did blood work on her for hsv1 and hsv2. the MD called and said that her HSV1 was 67 percent and HSV 2 was 2.75. he said this was very low and that she has probably had it for a long time and did not contact it from this recent partner. I also read that combined testing of hsv1 and hsv2 can be false positives. she has had absolutely no symptoms at all. does this mean she has genital herpes or is there any other test that can be done to make sure she doesn't have it. she is 22 and having major panic and anxiety or this, it is breaking my heart.

I've been married for just shy of two years now. My wife has HSV-2. I've known about this from early on in our relationship. I've done my best to do my research, to learn as much as I could about the condition, once I learned she had it. I won't claim to be an expert on the subject, but I've learned a reasonable amount.
The Problem: She seems to still be spooked... if that's the right word.
We had both had somewhat active pasts, and so rather than rushing into things, we had agreed to wait until marriage. Well, long story short, as I say, we've been married for just shy of two years now, and we've yet to consummate our marriage. She won't let me even touch her. Hugs and kisses, yes, but there has been zero intimacy for the duration of the marriage. For the longest time, if I tried to talk to her about it, she'd just say, "I don't know" and get angry and close off. Recently, as we were talking, she opened up a bit more than she ever has, and she made a comment about "I don't want you to catch what I have." I told her I was aware that it is much easier for a female to catch it from a male, than it is for a male to catch it from a female. "I just told you that" she snapped, and that was the end of that conversation. (We'd just been looking at a pamphlet on HSV-2).
I understand that this is scary for her, and I understand that she is trying to keep me from getting this, but the mention above is about the only time in the two years we've been married, or the two years and change we were together before we got married. I'm kept literally at arm's length.
When we got married, she was taking val-whatever it's called, the suppressive medication, but she hasn't even been taking that for the last several months. I'm trying to be supportive, but I really don't know what to do anymore.
Am I wrong for wanting to touch my wife, hold my wife, to be intimate with my wife? Am I wrong for wanting to make love to my wife?
This is understandably, a wedge between us.

Hi, can some one plz help me? I had protected sex and protected oral with this woman about 4 months ago. I think I had itchy thighs and the tip of my penis will have this weird felling from time to time, like a mild burn or a dull feeling. I took at test at 4, 6, 11, and 15.5 weeks and they were all negative for hsv 2. I was positive for hsv 1 but I had cold sore when I was little so idk if that's why it was positive. My hsv2 results have always been <.90 and haven't gone up or down. Now do y'all think those result are conclusive for hsv2 or should I keep testing?

But I'm not. My vagina looks fine but I saw a new "paper cut". I couldn't find anything at first but I kept feeling like I could feel something and again with a mirror and flashlight and had to pull my skin to see it. I'm beyond stressed. I was feeling chipper and happy because I'm not itchy anymore and the discharge was going away from the bacterial medication but yet the saga continues. I decided to just go ahead and go to an STD clinic on Monday and have them run the IGG test because my doctor wants me to wait 4-6 more weeks but I'm not waiting. If it's negative I'll recheck again but I think I've had these symptoms 4 weeks now I'm hoping the IGG will show it even though the IGM came back negative. Never in my life have I had so many issues with my vagina. My birthday is in two weeks and I just wanted to make it to the end of the year without any more symptoms. I want my normal sex life back in gear. I hate this. I did find psoriasis could happen on the vagina and cause cracks but the odds of that happening on a healthy 32 year old female after a new sex partner is slim to none IMO. Any other reasons I'd have cracks in my vagina besides herpes?

Over a week ago my husband and I had anal intercourse with no condom, and he ejaculated inside me. 2 days later I noticed a burning sensation around my anus. I thought because I had had diarrhea for those two days that it was just an irritation. I also thought it could also be caused by the hemorrhoid I got when I was pregnant so I started applying the creme that I was given in the hospital for it. Two more days passed and the burning and itching was getting worse so I finally took a mirror and looked at the area. It had a bunch of what looked like popped blisters around the anus. I made an appointment with my PCM and she immediately thought it was herpes. I have been married 7 years, I was tested in October of 2013 and again in June 2014 for all STD's and was negative. I do not believe my husband has cheated, and if he contracted the virus before we met wouldn't I have been affected sooner seeing as how we have never used a condom? She did a culture and told me the results can take up to 2 weeks. She prescribed me Valtrex which I have been taking for 2 days and a cream to use. The pain only seems to be getting worse and it doesnt seem to be improving and it is spreading towards my vagina. Is it possible it is something other than herpes?

I am a 21 year old female. Just last month I had unprotected sex with a new sex partner. About a week after doing so I performed oral sex on him, we did not have sex though. The night I performed oral sex on him he was very restless that night like he was becoming sick, and he told me he was not feeling well. The very next day I developed a sore throat and went out with my friends. I was sharing a drink with my one friend (girl) and then very next day she also became sick. All of our symptoms included swollen tonsils with white spits, fevers, ulcers on the inside of the mouth and one ulcer on the lip but it was almost on the inside though you could see half of the ulcer when mouth was closed. At first I thought it was strep so I gotten tested and it came back negative. Then I believed it was herpes and the doctor said if anything maybe the coxsackie virus which isn't oral herpes. Well, the first time I got tested for strep they treated me with amoxicillin anyways. 3x a day for ten days. I had a yeast infection before starting the medication by the 7th day of the antibiotic my yeast infection was very bad I remember itching a lot at night. The next day I got a very hot shower. When I had gotten out of the shower I was wiping away my discharge "down there". Well as I was wiping my vaginal opening there were two white spots that were flat and white almost like two little ulcers but they felt more like a scabs. They did not hurt what so ever even when touched. I started to panic, I called my gyno and got in the very next hour. He said they don't really appear to be herpes if they don't hurt he said they might have been from scratching. Also i did not have swollen glands down there. He cultured them and I went home. The next day I looked down there again and they were completely gone! Like I never had that happened to me no scars or anything! My culture of the "lesions"(2) came back negative along with all of the other tests they also did. Though, I am very worried this might be herpes (herpes) still. I don't understand this happening to me and I wonder if I should get bloodwork done. I heard the first outbreak of herpes is so painful, I didn't have any pain. And I always take a look down there all of the time and I only noticed having those for one day and then they disappeared, what do you think this was doctor? Okay So On April 7th, I had sex with this guy from my job. We had a condom on and then the condom had gotten stuck inside of me and then it was stuck for a day. After I removed the condom from my body, I took the my way pill to avoid getting pregnant. A week later, April 15th, I had a bad reaction. My vagina was swollen and itchy and very burning. I had little red pimples which instantly turned into white sores about an hour later. It oozing white puss. I get tested and I was negative for Gonn and Chlymida (spelling) and diagnosed as a yeast infection. I was given terconazole the cream and everything went back to normal, My vagina was feeling better, no bumps or nothing. Well now, 2 weeks later, I have no bumps or nothing but my vagina is still burning, itchy, and I have white thick discharge which is sometimes watery. It has no odor, my vagina never smells. I also have bad abdominal pain and I went back to the clinic and was prescribed fluconazole which stopped my stomach ache for a while but It caused my stomach to feel like a burning. Also my anus is very itchy but no bumps. Is this the start of herpes? The burning senstation comes and goes.

Now i know the only way to be 100% certain or which it is (yeast or herpes) but this all just appeared and it the first time ever! An this is sp embarrassing anyways before my rambling goes on my symptoms are burning itching swelling redness white cloudy discharge and a few blister like sores. I keep reading online an still a little confused....what can it be?
