Hysterectomy :: Post Ablation Tubal Sterilization Syndrome?

Mar 6, 2015

Has anybody been diagnosed with this? I went to see a different consultant yesterday one of the top ones at my local hospital and i'm going to be having a hysterectomy and prolapsed bladder repair but for the first time ever he mentioned he thinks I could have PATSS! It does explain a lot of my symptoms, I also have endo and suspected adeno and all this has come about since I had Endometrial ablation 4 years ago and sterilised 12 years ago.

Heavy Periods / Clotting - Hysterectomy Or Endometrial Ablation?

I have had a bit of a journey over the last 3 years, increasingly heavy periods, which are now 2 - 3 weeks long, with severe clotting (sorry tmi).  I have had a laparoscopy (GA), mirena coil (twice), right ovary and tube removed due to large cysts, and I have a large fibroid.  I have tried tranexamic acid which had no benefit.  I am now being offered an endometrial ablation or a hysterectomy.  Having read some stuff on forums, the experience of EA doesn't seem to be good.   I am inclined to go straight for the hysterectomy in the sense that it gives complete closure to this whole sorry experience, and the on going post op pain with an EA seems well documented.  Just wondered if anyone could offer any helpful insights?

Could I Be Pregnant After A Tubal Ligation And Endometrial Ablation?

I am a 35 year old woman who had a tubal ligation 10 years ago and an ablation about 7 years ago due to heavy periods. I am the mother of 2 wonderful daughters and do not plan on having any others. I have read a lot of postings about women who haven't had a period since their procedures, however I still get my period. My system has always sort of been out of whack (periods every 2 weeks or every 2 months). Recently I have been concerned about the lack of my period (almost @ 7 weeks) and wondering, if by some chance I was pregnant, what that would mean? Tied tubes and lack of uterine wall surely cannot equal a pleasant outcome. I have taken a pregnancy test which turned out negative but if my system is out of whack, how accurate could it be?

Ischial Sit Pain - Piriformis Syndrome? Ablation OF L2, L3, L4, L5 And S5

I've been dealing with sit pain for almost 4 years. Mostly feels like on the bone on my left butt cheek but from time to time moves to the outside of iT (along panty line) or to the inside between bone and groin. I can't pinpoint any particular event that caused it. Been mis-diagnosed as piriformis syndrome, have had tons of injections, PT for SI joint issues, sciatica injections, ischial bursitis injections, when pudendal nerve (but didn't pursue that) & today I had RF ablation oF L2, L3, L4, L5 and S5. I've not had back pain except once in awhile an ache in lower back & hips feeling out of alignment (probably self inflicted trying not to sit on my left butt cheek). Anyone else having the same issue or found a solution?

Hemorrhoids :: Hysterectomy With Hemorrhoidectomy - Pain 2 Days Post Op

I had my hemorrhoidectomy and they also removed my right ovary in the same operation on 30 March 2016.

It is now 3 April 2016 so it has been 4 days since my op. I had no pain the first 2 days and then the local anesthetic wore off!

Now it is excruciatingly painful. I have found that bathing in a little lukewarm water with 2 hands of salt for 15 minutes help a lot.

And for constipation you can go to your local pharmacy and buy an enima ask them for one that you can drink!

Trust me it is much better than to put a tube up your sore bum!!! The doctor can also prescribe a numbing ointment that helps a lot!!

Goodluck to all my buds out there!!! I know how it feels!!!

One question i have is it normal to still have the swollen loose skin on the outside of your anus?

Total Robotic Hysterectomy :: Burning After Sex (5 Weeks Post Op)

I had a total robotic hysterectomy 5 weeks ago. Sunday night had unplanned sex. It was not painful, I'd say uncomfortable. When my husband ejaculated, it burned!

Today, Wed. Still burning, uncomfortable and frequent urination.

Does this sound like an infection? Or irritation because it was too soon.

I even resorted to using hydrocortisone last night because it was driving me crazy and I could not sleep.

Post Tubal Ligation Irregular / Frequent And Prolonged Periods

I had my third baby 2/15/11 and my bilateral tubal ligation 2/16/11. No complications after the laparoscopic surgery. Breastfed and formula fed together from the beginning, pumping from about 4 weeks to 6 weeks until I went back to work and supply diminished. Bled after birth until 5 weeks, when I had my post natal appointment. Started first period after that around 3 weeks later (baby was 8 weeks). It was 'normal' for me - lasted about 6 days, had cramps before and the first 2 days. All normal for me. I know my normal cycle because I had not been on BC for about 8-9 months before becoming pregnant and was very regular until the month before I got pregnant. So anyway, had my second period beginning may 6 and lasting til may 11. Again, all very normal for me. My husband and I had regular intercourse probably about every other day during the time I was not bleeding, with only the tubal ligation as birth control. 17 days after I stopped my second period, on may 23, I began spotting. It was very light, and I thought it was sex-related. It varied from brownish to light red to slight pinkish. The next day the same. The third day I needed a tampon, but only a light one. After that for a few days I bled more heavily, but not as heavy as the start of a normal period -- about how I normally would towards the second 1/2 of my regular periods. On most days during this I would go several hours with no bleeding and think it was all over. I went all last night with only a pantyliner which was ahem, not needed by the time I woke up this morning. However, I got to work and around 9am it started, very very light again. This is day 11.

Any ideas? Please no hijacking here, I am looking for some help.

I've called my GYN and left a msg for the MA or nurse to call me about it but that was yesterday morning and I've not yet heard back. . .

To mention, this long 11 days has had NO cramping whatsoever.

Hysterectomy :: 5th Week Post-op - Waist Muscle Pain And Upper Abdominal Pain

I am on my 5th week post-op TAH (removed uterus, cervix and Fallopian tubes). I was recovering well in the past few weeks with reducing pains.

Of all sudden, I had a painful swelling abdominal and soreness/pulling pain around waist yesterday coupled with giddiness and headache. Is it normal having a regression during recovery period? Any remedy members could share esp. now I still can't exercise. I put on an abdominal binder now to ease the pain slightly.

Another PVP (Post Vasectomy Pain Syndrome) Case

Another PVP sufferer. Had my snip done in October 12, local GP practice but got a GP who was acquiring the 'skills' to take over the practice once the main GP retired.

Well, he made a mess, first half fine, second half painful. Bust a blood vessel to, so that was stitched up to the VAS.

Rested after, ended up with two large haematomas one each side and a wound that didn't heal for 4 weeks and needed antibiotics.

That all eventually cleared but was still in considerable pain, especially the 'messed up side'. Off to GP, then referred to Urology. Scheduled for an epididymectomy soon now.

Won't do both sides due to risks of losing a ball, so it's one at a time, and if it works, as it only has a 50% success, they will do the other.

Pain isn't great, I won't take meds for it, other than ibuprofen etc, but that doesn't do much. Offered the usual gabapentin etc which I've refused.

As others have said, I queried what would happen if I got PVP and how would we manage it. The GP at the time said 'your Urologist would sort that' - erm I don't have one. No mention of how common the pain is 5-10%.

Only when I saw the Consultants in Urology did they say how common it was. It's a very difficult 'condition' to treat is all they have said.

Current choices. Wait - I've done that, now surgical removal of my epididymis, possible the less sore one two. High failure rate. If it doesn't work, then denervation may be a choice - that will leave your nether regions numb.

Friggin fabulous. Simple procedure that you don't really fancy, but 'pressure' dictates. Totally ruined our sex life. I get bad pain after, and it takes days and days to subside. Also the site of the burst blood vessel is extremely uncomfortable (between ball and penis) so the consultant will do some 'clearing out up there two.

Seriously hissed off by it - WHY DON'T THEY TELL PATIENTS ?

I've complained officially, general sorry and denial of PVP. Complained direct to the GP that did the Op - he now has the local contract. I've asked him to ensure he makes patients aware of the consequences.

Oh and it's pot luck if you get it. doesn't matter if you are fit or not. It's really affected me and my sport as a cyclist (ouch) and I can't stand being battered about down there - so stuff like go-karts, fair rides that are bumpy are a no no.

The epididymectomy is going to be nasty, as that's quite a recovery process. I asked about having both done, but they said if it went wrong I would lose both balls. Best do one at a time, then I'd have one at least they said. I said, I'd be happy if you took them both off !

Never again. Feel like I've freely mutilated myself - could have done a better job with two bricks.

Deep Vein Thrombosis Post Thrombotic Syndrome - Minor Surgery

My son had a large DVT in his left leg and was told to take Warfarin and wear compression stocking but nothing else could be done. We have learnt through Thrombosis UK charity  that there is treatment available at St Thomas' Hospital in London. My son has had several visits for tests and now is going to have minor surgery to stent his blocked and scarred veins to improve his blood flow and alleviate swelling. Good news for a change.

Tubal Ligation And The Chance For A Tubal Pregnancy?

I first want to start out by saying that I had a tubal ligation after my twins were born 12/13/2006. I have four living children and one still birth.

My period was due to start on Tuesday (December 4th) it is now Friday (December 6). On Monday I had some very light spotting for a few hours and then it stopped. My period has yet to start. I know that there is a rare chance that the ligation did not take. How long should I wait before calling my ob doctor? What things should I keep an eye out for? Any suggestions would be great as this is scary to me since I know that there still is the chance for a tubal pregnancy and do not want to think of my children having to go through life without me.

Vasectomy :: Don't Go For It - Post Vasectomy Pain Syndrome (PVPS)

The best way about a vasectomy is to NOT have one. Anyone who thinks that they have got away without problems just can not say anything as PVPS can come on at any time until we die I know a friend who is in his mid-seventies and has more pain than in the whole of his life.

2 Miscarriages Since The Ablation

I had my tubes clamped 13 yrs ago and then had an ablation almost 2 yrs ago due to heavy periods and cancerous cells. Since the ablation I have not had my period. Now I am in a lot of pain almost like really bad cramps for two days now this morning I woke up went to the bathroom and a good amount of blood came out of me and have had a constant flow of blood since then. I am scared because I have had 3 miscarriages in the past. One before the ablation and the other two since the ablation, within months of each other. I don't want to go though this again, I am newly married and my husband does not have any child of his own and we have went through two failed pregnancies together and I don't want this to be happening again.

Supraventricular Tachycardia :: Ablation After Just One Episode Of SVT?

Hi, my eleven year old son has been diagnosed with SVT. He has had one attack, over a month ago, that lasted over an hour and resulted in a trip to the ER. We were referred to a cardiologist who recommends ablation. I am worried about the risks of the procedure versus the risks of just waiting it out, seeing how frequent and/or severe his attacks become.
