Cough, Choking, Throat Closing On Sitting, Talking, Eating And Sleeping

Its been two scary months with a really bad cough. I went to the ER after the first month and they said it was a virus, a week later went to urgent care and they gave me antibiotics for bacterial infection, two weeks later got worse went to urgent care got a steroids shot and asthma treatment went home with steroids, albuterol and continue to lose oxygen when coughing randomly. I am very scared because it happens any time while sitting, talking, eating, sleeping and I think I'm going to stop breathing each time. My eyes turn shot red and I get like headed with a desperate sound of getting my breath like if I was being choked. I just went to the ER after a scary episode and both my lung and throat x-ray came back normal. Has anybody dealt with anything similar to this? If so please help. I will call an ear, nose, and throat specialist tomorrow. I also feel an acidic flavor and fleming sitting on my throat All the time.

Viral Infections :: Cough Syrup Suppresses The Cough?

I am at the end of a cold (2 weeks)and I have a bad chesty cough. I'm up in the night like a cat with a furball.

I saw my doctor who advised to use honey and lemonade, and Vicks vapour rub, but said to stop using the covonia chesty cough syrup, as it suppresses the cough.

Is that correct ? I always believe it contained ingredients to help break down the congestion.

Lyme Disease :: 4 Years Since Tick Bite

I was bitten by a tick in 2010. It wasn't until this week I learnt about Lymes disease. I got the bullseye rash, and as the months progressed I had the worst flu of my life, incredibly painful episodes of back pain and neck stiffness so much so that I was given physio  and literally couldn't move my neck when i was having a flair up. I got severe headaches which made me almost pass out and so dizzy  I was sick. I had tests for labarynthitis and saw a ear nose and throat specialist but found nothing. The right Side of my face I got facial numbness and neuralgia, and my eye would twitch and go blurry. Saw an eye clinic and found nothing.

Diagnosed With Perthes Disease At 18 - No Treatment For Next 10-15 Years

My doctors tell me I developed the problem when I was about 8 but was never diagnosed because I didn't complain of any pain. They said my case is very rare.

As I am now fully grown I can no longer be treated for the disease other than by hip replacement, although they said I will have to wait 10 - 15 years until the pain becomes unbearable as I am too young for the surgery at the moment. Until then, I basically have to put up with it an have simply been told to not wear high heels and to not put on any weight!

My left hip is left flattened and shortened and my leg in almost an inch shorter than my right. It constantly feels uncomfortable and sometimes extremely painful, especially when walking long distances, laying on my left side, sitting for too long (eg. during long car journeys) and I end up feeling very frustrated!

I have tried physiotherapy, pain killers, a digital pain reliever and swimming to help the pain - all with very little helpful effect.

Celiac Disease :: 4 Years Gluten Free - Still Anemic

I have been gluten free for 4 years. I have been tired for a long time. I just found out I am anemic (Ferritin 9 - 15-180 is normal). I took Iron pills, 6 weeks NO CHANGE in levels.

My doctor is not taking me seriously. I am waiting for an iron infusion (maybe 6 weeks).

The iron pills completely messed up my whole lower abdomen area (I think that's the cause). constipation, then diarrhea (sp?) crazy bloating, full feeling, aches and pains.

Coeliac Disease :: 2 Years Into Being Gluten Free Still Sick

My daughter was diagnosed with coeliac disease end April 2014 and since then we have taken her completely off gluten.  She is now hyper-sensitive to even trace amounts of gluten and can be sick for days if she eats the tiniest of crumbs.  Her tests for gut damage were 300+ and she is down to around 18, but doctors would like her levels to be 7 or below.  We have been seeing a chiropractor and physiotherapist to help with her muscle spasms and aching over the last few years (back and legs).  She has been tested for lupus, rheumatoid arthritis, anaemia, vitamin D deficiency, thyroid problems, calcium deficiency and she came off lactose for a month.  Everything has come back negative - although in January this year the consultant put her on calcium supplements to be on the safe side.

However, she is in constant pain which gets worse by the evening (she rates most evenings as 7/10, 8/10 if she has a headache and saves 10/10 for how she remembers it feels when glutened) - her joints and muscles ache (no swelling).  She has to have her legs and back which are the worst affected parts, rubbed at bedtime and she goes to sleep with heat packs to ease the pain.  She gets a headache as a result of the neck pain about 1 a fortnight.  She can get very tired and last Friday she was sent home from school as she was tired, headachy and achy.  She came home and spent the day in bed.  She used to be so active and was able to swim 4 x a week in a squad - if anything she seems to be getting worse not better and cannot attend as much training.  It's horrible to watch her walking around like a little old lady at age 9.  In the last three months even during the day - her best day was 3/10 pain.  Naturally it really gets her down.

I have been told that the gut in some people can take 2 and half to 3 years to recover - but surely malabsorption wouldn't make her feel worse?

Undiagnosed Pelvic Inflammatory Disease For 5 Years - Infertility?

When I was 16 I was forced into having oral sex with someone that I went on a date with. I am now almost 21 years old and have only ever had intercourse or any other sexual encounter with my fiance. For the past years I have had problems with my periods and pain during them, but never thought twice about it. I went to the doctor yesterday for a possible UTI and found out that I may have PID. Though I have yet to be diagnosed with an STD (labs are still out), I am assuming that Chlamydia is the case, given to me from the guy who forced me to have oral with him (seeing as how he probably had many interactions with other girls if he did something like that to me.) I am now TERRIFIED that I have had this disease for almost five years. I am getting married in just 3 weeks and am now afraid that I won't be able to have children... What are the chances of this if I have in fact had this disease for this long?

Legg Calve Perthes' Disease :: Lower Back Pain Years After

I was diagnosed very early around 5, so I just had to wear a brace with yearly trips to the Shriners hospital for ortho checkups, the only issue is my right leg is slightly shorter and have had to wear a lift in my shoe. My question is, has anyone had lower back issues possibly due to the Lcpd? I've had lower back issues for several years, I'm 36 is it possibly just older age.

You Do Not Die Of Parkinson You Die With It? Confusing

Many professionals and the charity PD uk sat that you do not die of PD you die with it...BUT The world Health Organisation receive statistica from the UK about the Number of Deaths Caused By PD in the UK...PD is one of the leading causes of deaths in the UK... I haved PD and suffer from anxiety but it occurs to me on  a regular basis that the lack of knowledge and information that is presented to us by a community of experts that all disagree is causing more confusion not only for the sufferers of pd , the public also find the whole thing a non starter. It is an illness for which there are no clear up to date definition and is therefore just seen an old person's shaking complaint

Parkinson :: Sinemet Or Requip?

Sinemet has left me unable to handle my property management business. Shaky or disoriented to often. ( get about 3 good hours in am). Locals I know are on requip and seem to do better. Dr. wants me to see a Shrink. I am sure I have some depression and anxiety, but don't want any more meds. I took lexapro for about 2 weeks after a divorce. I thought i was losing my mind. Couldn't concentrate on anything. Scared the heck out of me!
What is the difference between the 2 ( sinemet- requip) and has anyone tried the fisher wallace stimulator?
