When I first started experimenting with sex (masturbation), which was summer last year, it worked out fine for the first couple of times. Then, I would start getting terrible headaches at the base of my skull, near my neck, right before, during, or after ejaculation. They would usually go away after about 2-3 hours. One time I had actually passed out afterwards, and when I woke up, the headache was faint, but still present. They went away after about 4 times, but they came back for the first time tonight. The headaches are more intense than any other migraines I've had, and believe me, I've had doozies. Anyway, I have been doing research on these tonight (and when it first happened, I researched it but thought nothing of it) and I have been getting mixed answers. I think I have answered all of the questions that the replies to other forums have asked. I don't know if this matters, but my head was laid back and I was standing during the orgasm/headache. I have a bad habit of masturbating about 4-5 times a week, which I have been trying my best at stopping, or at least lowering it to once a week. Another thing I am particularly concerned about is approaching my parents with this information. I am young, so I cannot make a doctor's appointment by myself. I am very stressed about telling her, even though she knows I masturbate because she caught me one time , but she reacted calmly. Any information would benefit me a lot, but please don't post things like I have been reading like "Masturbation is a sin" because I know this.

The urologist I have seen has implied I'm having some mental issues related to my previous rape or have doubts about my sexuality, which I highly disagree with because it was preexisting before I was raped and frankly really insulting. I've tried psychotherapy and it was a bad experience because each therapist I have seen so far didn't want to even broach the question and that I should "keep it to myself." I think it could possibly be just performance anxiety but I can't find any relief. I have tried abstaining from masturbation, but the problem is still there. Oh and one of the psychotherapists was the director of the local LGBT center and she effectively ostracized me from coming back there. I really don't know what to do other than to move to another area to find better support.
