I have a hard lump just below and on the right of my left knee slightly bigger than a golf ball. It feels like a bone but i don't have one on the other knee. It doesn't hurt but it is noticeable especially when my leg is straight. Any ideas on what it is?

I've tried heating pads and warm baths but it seems to not surface or go away. It is very hard and seems to have a fever. It has become very difficult to walk or even get up. Even when I'm laying down, it feels so uncomfortable and hurts. I can't even sit down properly.

The lump is not painful but lightly pressing down from my armpit to my breast with your fingers is painful. What could it be and how worried should I be?
View 1 RepliesHad a Turp almost 6 years ago. It's a feeling of being raped and you don't know it's happening until after it happens. It happens so fast to you and then it's done. How do men cope with it that have had it done in their late 50's or early 60's? Also can Prostatitis issues bring men into having turps done even though they have urinary issue? In my case I had bladder stones, a prominent middle lobe was discovered during the Turp and my urine flow rate was only 3.2 cc/ sec. Still I had feeling of a" golf ball " which brought me to a decision to have the Turp done. Anyone with similar experiences?
View 32 RepliesI recently had a Lipoma in the middle of my back to the left of my spine, which was pea sized but noticeable to the touch. Over a period of about 5 years it grew to become about the size of a golf ball or slightly larger (things always feel larger inside don’t they!)
I was annoyed because a doctor at my surgery explained that it couldn’t be removed by the NHS, only private as it was classed as a 'cosmetic' operation. I sought a second opinion from my own doctor who said no, it should be removed and could be removed on the NHS; as it was causing such discomfort. I couldn’t believe the first doctor could even think that something ‘about the size of a tennis ball’ (as she put it), which was obviously causing discomfort and could be seen through clothing, could be was classed as cosmetic! (If this happens to you, demand to go on the NHS or see another doctor!)
It was uncomfortable, not really painful, but it certainly felt like someone had left a tennis ball inside my back! I could feel it as I leaned back in a chair and with deep breaths, it felt like it was pushing against my insides (not very pleasant). By now it has also started to be visible when wearing a T-Shirt (as a bump), so I decided it was time to get it taken out.
Within 2 weeks of visiting my doctor I was in surgery. The operation was no problem, even though the anesthetic did hurt!!! (but I’m a man so I’ll soldier on!) After the op I was in Tesco’s shopping … but about 8 hours later, when the anesthetic had worn off, it bloody hurt! It was hard sleeping – I had to sleep on my front for weeks!
It still feels like something remains – its like a 6th sense and I can still feel something in there, but that may either be my imagination or, as I was told, part of the Lipoma that couldn’t be removed.
At the end of the day though, there’s no need to worry about the op (and I’m the biggest coward going when it comes to hospitals!) – it was simple and not too painful … and the hospital staff were very friendly.
I started my menstrual cycle on Jan 5 it was normal next cycle was suppose to start on Jan 31 but I started spotting on the 28 of Jan 28 light bleeding for 3 days missing the start of my period on the 31. I was having some pregnancy symptoms but didn't look into it, while waiting for Feb cycle to start on Feb 26 but I spotted dark blood on Feb 17th, day two of this cycle a golf ball size clot came out no pain but this cycle lasted 6-7 days, ending with brown blood. I just want to know does this sound like a miscarriage when my regular cycle last only 5 days and come every 26 days in between

When I fist noticed it it was purple but it has no gone back to it normal colour but hasn't gone just moved.

View 2 RepliesI am 39 years old. I have a lump about one and a half to two centimetres in size on the left side of my neck midway between my ear and collar bone. It has been there for at least over a year and a half, possibly longer. It is hard (feels like a round bone) and painless, even when firmly pressed. There is no colouration or abnormality on the skin above or around the lump. I have seen several doctors at the same hospital here in Japan where I live (they keep referring me to different departments within the same hospital), all of whom say it is either a schwannoma or a lymph node tumor. They also tell me that there is a high risk of performing a biopsy (needle or open) because there are a lot of nerves in the area of the neck where the lump is located. All of this has also been explained to me in either low-level English, or fast Japanese which I am not good at. It has been extremely frustrating, as I feel I haven't received a great explanation of any diagnoses or what my options are. I have been referred once again to another doctor, this time in the ENT department, by a doctor in the oncology department whom I saw today, my 4th visit (and department!) to date.
View 1 RepliesI developed a hard (bone-like) lump on the left side of my nasal bridge 3 weeks ago after falling asleep on my couch. It's very painful and aches all the time, even without touching it. It's grown a bit bigger as the weeks have gone by.
Now, I have developed symptoms of a sinus infection and chest infection, that won't go away.
I'm constantly tired and my immune system is the lowest it's ever been, seeing as in the last few months, I've needed an operation to remove a pilonidal sinus, my appendix and some ovarian cysts (that were haemorrhaging), and straight after, this!
Other symptoms include -
A loss of appetite
Weight loss
Just feeling blue all the time
Headaches
Fever
Pain under my left eye
Very large lymph nodes in my neck
Is it cancer? Especially if I did nothing to aggravate the bump??
I'm a 19 year old girl, who doesn't smoke or drink.
I would love to know if other people are experiencing this, or if anyone can help me figure out what this is, because I'm sick of being sick and of being in hospital, and would like to get on with life.
after a second ultrasound (30 days apart) it was my doctor's opinion that there was a nonspecific hypoechoic lesion with a peripheral calcification in the right epididymal body that had slightly increased in size (from 0.9 x 1.0 x 0.5 to 0.9 x 1.0 x 0.7). should I be concerned about cancer?

i was lucky, D-DImer was 378, the nurse wasn't going to send me for a scan as I didn't fit all the symptoms on the day of referral but she said something was nagging at her about it, I think all the photos of my swollen calf swayed it.
I have an ACL ligament tear in my left knee. This happened about five years ago. I was on waiting list & got a call to do surgery, but then I got pregnant, so I had to go back on waiting list. It must be a long list because I am still waiting. They have looked at it again because of the soreness around the knee when I walk. My doctor told me I have mild arthritis in my left knee now, but can still go through surgery.
This past week, I was in a situation where I didn't do much walking, laid around for most of day. I didn't have a pillow to use for my knee to be propped up, so I just used my right leg or had my left leg on its side when I laid down on my left side. I don't feeling anything around my knee now. It is numb! Would anyone know what is wrong? I tried to apply ice to it, but I can't feel it. I still can walk ok, though. Thanks!

View 2 RepliesI am a healthy 26 year old female and i had my first bout of hemorrhoids about a month ago. they came on suddenly with pain, swelling, and itching. i don't remember being constipated prior to the hemorrhoids but i do sit and drive for long periods of time due to work. i treated the roids myself with sitz baths, apple cider vinegar, and witch hazel. i also paid much closer attention to my diet to ensure being regular with a soft stool. it's about 5 weeks later and i feel as though the hemorrhoids are gone, but i believe i am still dealing with a fissure that will bleed just a little bit after a bm. this fissure is located closer to my perineum. i also have a skin tag on my perineum because roids basically stemmed from that area. i continue to have a sore lump (pea sized or smaller) next to the fissure i'm dealing with. it typically hurts more and swells a bit after i have a bm. i'm nervous this is an abscess but i'm wondering if maybe it's an internal hem that just gets swollen after a bm?
additionally after a bm i have a pain in the anal area but it feels a little higher up and like there is a ball inside my anus. i did research on this as well and believe i found a diagnosis that is really close to what i'm experiencing called levator ani syndrome. does anyone know anything about this and if my roids could have caused this condition? i have muscle relaxers in my medicine cabinet because of a back injury. i find that after i have a bm and this pain increases i take a muscle relaxer and the pain subsides...
A little over a month ago I noticed a lump in my right labia majora, somewhat near where my thigh meets the lips. It itches on the surface sometimes and if you pinch the skin you can feel a pea sized lump a little deep in. Not too deep but also not directly under the skin. I thought it was an ingrown hair but no white head has appeared for me to try and pop it. It has not grown, it only hurts if I mess with it often, and the little pimple like bump (with no head) on the surface sometimes feels bigger and itchier. It feels kinda hard but it is moveable. Idk if it is an ingrown hair anymore, anyone have info on what it may be? I already made an appointment but it is not until next week.

The doctor wants a biopsy because it is a solid mass. I'm very freaked out. I guess I just want to know what to expect and how worried I should be. I don't know what to think. I feel like I should be planning something. Getting ready for something. But I don't know what.
