Hot Flashes Followed By Cold Flashes And 99.9 Low Grade Fever

Dec 10, 2013

I think I am going insane... I have been suffering from episodes of hot flashes followed by cold chills with 99.1 to 99.7 degrees fever for about 4 years now.. I have had Blood tested for almost everything- Lupus, Thyroid.-Aids, Sed rates.. etc... and nothing comes back... The dr's can not find anything.. This last episode is lasting 31 days and counting.. I am starting to get a lot of anxiety, my body aches and I have headaches that come and go..

I am 45 years old and feel like I am90! I have been in relatively good health.. Is is possible that this is perimeno? I just started hormone replacement therapy and My obgyn has me on a very low dose of progesterone - pills and testosterone..I am hoping this helps.. I am so sad and scared, I don't know what to do.

Menopause :: Do Mild Hot Flashes Feel Like You Have A Fever Without A Fever?

I previously posted about my night sweats but now I have a new symptom. Mostly in the morning, my forehead and sometimes my face feels hot but I don't have a fever. In fact my temp. will be a degree below normal. My body will feel a little warm but not as much as my face and forehead. Does this sound like mild hot flashes?

Fever / Hot Flashes After Uterine Fibroid Embolization?

I had a UFE 2 weeks ago and I'm getting either a fever or hot flushes but not sure which it is. I have no other signs of Menopause. When I had zoladex injections I had very bad hot flushes this feels different. Not sure if I can have a test done to see as my procedure could have put me into Menopause.

So do I wait till I have fully recovered or get a test done. Wondered if anyone else had this after UFE I'm 49 years old.

Metronidazole :: Side Effects - Hot-flashes Combined With Freezing Cold Spells

I thought I was truly going round the bend after 2 and half days on Metronidazole. I slept for 10 hours last night, have had mega hot-flushes combined with freezing cold spells during the past 2 nights and feel like a total zombie. I am not going to take anymore of them as I'm also on penicillin 4 times a day for a tooth infection. If the tooth is still sore once I finish the pen. then I'll ask the Dr. for something else, but hopefully it won't come to that.

Low Grade Fever Three Weeks Post ALIF (l5/s1)

I had surgery exactly three weeks ago. I developed a fever (99.9-101.8) in the hospital two or three days post op. They gave me antibacterial iv and oral meds from the surgery on. As I developed the fever, they gave me antiviral medication to treat a huge and painful fever blister I developed just two days after surgery thinking that this sore was the culprit. The fever had gone down to low grade but now i'm concerned because it does not want to go away. Im taking Norco and the tylenol in it keeps the fever below low grade but when I don't take Norco ( which i take less and less) the fever and chills/ night sweats keep returning. It is generally starting at noon or afternoon, almost always present in the evenings. Usually 99.5-100.5.

Im very worried that it can be some kind of a stubborn infection. I'm three weeks after surgery, i should not have a temp at all. Plus I'm not fever prone, i hardly ever had a fever in my life, flu or any other illness i pull thru with no temps.

Kidney Stones :: Sweating, Fairly Frequent Urination, Low Grade Fever, Confusion

I recently had outpatient gynecological surgery, following which I had frequent urination, burning, stinging when urinating and side and back pain on the right side. Went back to my doctor, and she diagnosed a UTI and put me on doxy and Cipro. Took them a few days, but the side and back pain persisted, on and off, in waves. I also became debilitated with extreme fatigue and weakness--i went back to the doctor, and couldn't even fill out a simple form in the office, simply couldn't think or have the energy to write. She sent me to the ER, saying she thought I had a kidney stone. They did a CT scan and said I have stone in my kidney, but that normally when it's in the kidney it doesn't cause pain. They couldn't explain my other symptoms (included also sweating, fairly frequent urination, low grade fever, confusion). They gave me 2 rounds of pain meds (& fluids) in the ER and I felt better for a couple hours. The next day I felt so rotten and weak I could barely sit up, i couldn't talk, check email or texts, read, move, shower, etc. over the past 3 days it has gotten slightly better. The pain has virtually subsided since the ER, but the fatigue is debilitating. Two friends described their experiences with kidney stones as similar--has anyone experienced the same? Does anything help?

I have heard water and beer help a kidney stone pass, but is that only once it's descended? I'm not really in pain, so my doctor thinks it may have shifted around in the kidney (she thinks my symptoms are something else). Anyway. I don't know if it would do any good to try to flush it out at this point or just wait and see. I simply can't go on for much longer feeling this extreme weakness and cloudy head, feeling rotten, etc. I continue to have a low grade fever, but my labs came back after the antibiotics clean. I do have similar symptoms when I get bad sinus infections, but that's clearly not the case now. Thanks!

Menopause :: Hot Flashes Gone At 58

I'm not sure what happened but the hot flashes that have been relentless for about four years and up to three an hour have gone! It's been about a week now, I noticed one day that they diminished and today not one! I'm sleeping much better and I am in a great mood. No more feelings of doom . I have my 58 th birthday coming soon. Do you think I'm done? Is the nightmare over? I hope so . I am having sore breasts and I'm not sure why. I haven't had a period for about two years. Fingers crossed that they don't come back . I like this feeling, it's like the old me is back.

Hot Flashes Again At 67 (gone After Hysterectomy At 45)

I am 67 years of age. In the past year I have begun to have hot flashes again. Is this normal? My doctor said well that is one of those things we have to put up with. I had stopped having problems with hot flashes about 45 years of age or before. When I had total hysterectomy those stopped. Can anyone tell me about why this might be the norm and we have to put up with it until death!

Eye Care :: Flashes/ Floaters

I have been having some concerns with my vision to start off I have myopia and astigmatism, but recently I had noticed a flash of light. It happened when I was sleeping, so I'm not 100 percent sure if it was part of a dream or if I really saw it. I also noticed that if I turned my heart really quickly from right to left I would see what looked like a gold light around my eye that last for maybe a few seconds. I was super worried at that point and went to see my eye doctor as soon as possible she didn't see any tears or any signs of a detached retina but did notice that my vision prescription had changed. To be on the safe side she suggested I go see an opthamologist in a few weeks. I of course was too worried to wait a few weeks so I made the appointment right after my eye doctor visit.

The opthamologist checked my vision and told me my eyes were healthy and everything looked fine. She suggested that the flashes could be caused by ocular migraines and told me unless I am seeing tons of flashes, floaters, or dark curtains over my eye then its okay to see a few. I was very relieved with the news, but I still am worried something is wrong. I thought I saw some flashes today in my peripheral vision and my vision seemed a little off. My vision seeming off is most likely due to needing new glasses. I noticed some of the possible flashes today when I was in an area where there is bright lights. Could really bright lighting/sunlight causes eye flashes or my vision to act weird?

I also use my smart phone quite a bit and notice it when I'm using my phone for extended periods of time. Could that cause flashes or vision issues? and could having too much caffeine cause vision problems? I don't really feel like going back to my doctor every time I see flashes, but I just worry if I don't maybe it could be something serious. I have just been stressing and having awful anxiety about it even though I was just told my vision was fine literally a few days ago.

Has anyone else experienced this? Thank you if you took the time to read this I know its super long lol. I'm just not sure what to do I mean maybe I'm just being paranoid or just letting anxiety get the better of me.

Menopause :: No Hot Flashes - Perimenopause?

it has become so hard to see if i fit for peri-menopause as I do not have hot flashes at all but i seem to have all else creeping up on me. lots of women say if you don't have the hot flashes then it can not be peri...So really what is the best way to know that your entering that stage of life or not..i read alot of posts where all these woman have all these tell tale sign of menopause and instead of there doctor taking there age into consideration for menopause they all run to do all kinds of tests and this and that..is it really that difficult to decipher when in menopause or not? I'm so confused and since I'm 42 my doctor wont even talk to me about it regardless that my mother and her went into full menopause at 45 yrs old..i just hate to be running to the DR and getting all frustrated when some of my symptoms or all are peri-menopause related.

Eye Flashes Totally Different Than Floaters?

Has anyone experienced 'flashes' in an eye - (totally different to floaters)?

If so, how long did it last - have been told could take up to three months.

Did it get worse with deteriorating peripheral vision - a sign of retinal displacement.?
