View 1 RepliesMy last period was between 9-13th May. On 19th May, the condom broke. Within 12-15 hours of the sex I took the morning after pill. Then on maybe the 27th May I had some light bleeding for around 3/4 days.
I expected my period to be here around the same time as last month, however nothing as of yet. My periods are often irregular, but I'm just a bit paranoid and concerned now. I always tend to get tender breasts before my period comes which I am experiencing now.
I am stressing a lot about it, which I know can delay periods as it is, but also I was stressing about finishing university. Now also this weekend I have had a throat infection.
I am really nervous to take a test as I do not know what to do if it is positive. Has this happened anyone else? Should I expect it to come soon?

View 1 RepliesI have been on the pill for a year and I stopped taking it just over a month ago. I was having sex just up until I stopped taking it (long distance relationship). Just after I stopped taking it I had a light period but since then I haven't got a period again and it's currently 12 days late. I had some PMS right before I was supposed to get my period but it never came. I'm scared that I could be pregnant because I know a girl who didn't know she was pregnant until it was too late because she was still getting her period! Do you think I could be pregnant or that my period is just irregular (my period was regular before I took the pill).

I'm 20 and have been on the pill since 14. I've tried YAZ (the best by far but not covered by health care) and a few others, currently on the generic brand of Levlen Ed.
Only recently, say the last 1 - 2 years I have noticed that my body is working almost like clockwork when it comes to taking the pill. If I take it anywhere from even just 15min late (though typically occurs from half an hour late), I will undoubtedly get spotting or even my period a few days later.
I cannot find anyone on internet forums who experiences the same. A couple of hours maybe but not to this extent. Most women say they can take theirs hours apart with no effect.
My question is, is this normal and why has it only been the last few years? My body used to work just fine with the pill.
I used to be on the pill a while ago and I recently decided to go back on it. I accidently took the sugar pill on my second day of having my period not realising I was meant to start taking the active pills. Can I continue taking the sugar pill or do I start the active pill?
View 1 RepliesI have been taking "Femodette" since around beginning of June 2015 and been taking it back to back once because i was on vacation. I only took 2 packs of femodette. After i finished the second one towards the end of july, i completely stopped taking birth control. I only took it because i'm in a long distance relationship and i was spending some time with my boyfriend so i thought might as well get protected during this time (and i always do this when we get a chance to be together, which is twice a year). We never use condoms but we also never had any problems (he never finished inside). I always took my pills on time, never missed a pill. My period would always be late when i stop taking the birth control and it always gets me worried and stressed out that i could be pregnant. But i was starting to think its because of the stress and maybe because i always travel during that time. Now, this time same thing is happening again. Today, 13th August and still no period even though i stopped taking the pill for weeks and weeks. I did have some bleeding once shortly after finishing the pill. It was more than spotting because i had to wear a pad and it was a bit dark redish and then turned lighter to be brown as the days went by but wasn't a real period flow. I'm not very worried if i could be pregnant right now because i have no symptoms at all except that my period hasnt come yet. I do have mild cramps from time to time and bloating but its gone now. I'm just wondering if there is a chance i could be pregnant or is it because of taking the pill back to back and traveling + stress?
View 2 RepliesAbout 1 1/2 months ago, the condom broke while having sex (around June 1). I took the morning after pill within 29 hours. I got my regular on-time period just a few days later (June 3). My period is usually around the same time every month. However, it is now July 9th and there are absolutely no signs of an upcoming period. Since I already had a period, I don't THINK I'm pregnant but just find it weird that my 2nd period is late...its never happened before.

View 4 RepliesI take Microgynon 30 and have been for 10 months, I've never missed a pill or taken one late until this month. I take it at 8.10am everyday but on 26th June took it at 10.20am instead (2 hours 10 minutes late).
I had condomless sex 3 times in the week before (20th, 21st, 23rd), will I still have been protected?
I then waited seven days to have sex again after I took it late.
Me and my girlfriend had sex on the 9th of march on the night time and I didn't ejaculate, I know this is bad but it just happened.. My me and girlfriend then went and got the morning after pill days later. Since then on the 26th she got her 'period', the bleeding wasn't heavy but it wasn't light. She had blood during the night and then all day during the day on the 26th and on the 27th her tampon was in all day during the day and was brown when she checked and this was brown discharge. We're really frightened that she is pregnant. She is also on the mini pill since she got the morning after pill.
View 1 RepliesI consider myself to still be new to taking the pill as a form of birth control. Just when I think I have it figured out, something new would happen which would make me doubt it's effectiveness.
I am currently using Chateal, which contains 21 active pills and 7 placebo pills. After 6 months of taking it as directed, I assume my body should be used to the side effects. I would get nausea from taking it so I switched to taking it at night. I have been taking it that way for 3 months now.
But I have noticed since first started taking it, I would get severe cramps and backaches during the second week of the pack for a few days. I assumed I was ovulating while on the pill because I noticed my cervical mucus changes throughout the month. My understanding though is the pill is to prevent ovulation thus preventing pregnancy.
Can you ovulate while on the pill? Is my birth control pill type too low of a dose for me? Could it be something else?
Me and my bf had unprotected sex about 5 weeks ago i took the morning after pill 50+ hours after!! .. however i came on my period shortly after light at first then normal... We had sex just over two weeks ago but we used protection EEEEKKKKK Obviously last week i was meant to start my period and i have still not come on!??! i've taken 2 pregnancy tests and they are negative! The thing here is that I usually take a 50mg pill before having sex, I'm used to that dosis, however last time I went to the drugstore I accidentally bought 100mg pills, I am not willing to take one of those since it's the double of what I usually take (and 50mg works fine with me) but I am not sure is by taking half of those pills it would equal a 50 mg one.
I have been on the combined pill (Gederal) for a couple of years now but my doctor wants to change me to the Mini Pill (Cerelle). My Combined pill is perfect so i don't want to change. I mentioned that i had one migraine with visual disturbance and she explained to me that even one of these migraines is a reason to come off the combined pill. The combined Pill regulated my periods but she explained that this mini pill is now going to make me irregular.

View 1 RepliesSo in my first week of BC I missed my 6th pill, and my boyfriend and I had unprotected sex, he did not pull out. When I remembered I took my missed pill and my pill for that day. I then missed another pill and had unprotected sex, he did not pull out. This was during my normal ovulating time, I was in the bathroom today and wiped to find brown spotting. I'm not sure if I could be pregnant or if the spotting is related to missing the pill.

Should this be happening even while taking the pill? I would think the bleeding would be stopping or at least slowing down at this point, but it's not!

View 1 RepliesI took Cerazette for 9 days, felt so ill i came straight off it. Anxiety attacks, racing heart, was off work for 8 weeks it was a nightmare. its now 3 months on, my periods are getting somewhat back to normal, but i've been left with a fast heart rate. I've been rushed to A&E a few times its been so fast i thought i was having a heart attack. i'm now on beta blockers to keep it under control until it's investigated. its ok sat down, but if i try and walk or do anything it goes through the roof.
I've heard of other women that have had this but i'm desperate to find out whether it will eventually go back to normal on it's own or has it left me with long term issues.
