Shortly after leaving the lot, the low air pressure light came on, and the check engine light.
The tires themselves state Max Pressure 44lbs. I checked, and each had around 28 lbs. So I inflated up to 44 lbs (all tires). The light is still on.
Do I likely have a bad sensor? Can a tire sales place check that for me or do I need to take it to Hyundai?
Not sure what happen that led to the Airbag light next to the speedo staying on.

B1481 = DAB module circuit resistance high
B1329 = DFIS to SRSCM communication error

B1388 = Driver Seat track position sensor open or short to power

B2500 = Air Bag Warning light circuit fault
B1511 = Driver Belt Buckle switch circuit open or short to power
Where to begin solving for this problem.
I just installed a stereo in my daughter's 2010 Accent and tapped into the emergency brake wire to disable the DVD option when the emergency brake is engaged. Everything works fine except that the emergency brake light on the dash stays on dimly after releasing the emergency brake.
View 10 RepliesHad new tires put on yesterday and today my TPMS light came on. I guess one of the sensors came loose as I can hear it rattling around in the LR tire.
My question is do I have to replace all four sensors or can I just replace the one?

when i use the squirter for the water on the windscreen i get full pressure for a second then it drops to barely any pressure at all. I thought it was the jets so i checked them with a drawing pin and they flow fine. Are there 2 motors that operate the squirter , is it likely one has gone?

View 1 RepliesIt was cold this morning, about 34 degrees F. I get in my car and notice that TPMS light. Its still dark, and I'm running late to work, so I just walk around and do a cursory glance at all my tires with my lighter, they don't seem to be low. So I think maybe its because of the cold, but the light never came off after my 25 minute commute to work. I get out of my car, look around the tires, they look okay. I'll check the pressure after I get out of work.
View 15 RepliesI picked up an 02' accent, 1.5l that i've been intending to use as a commuter car. Drove fairly well on the way back home, but it seems it's got some low oil pressure issues once it's good an hot. As the oil pressure light will occasionally flicker at idle, mind you the car is near dying too.
Or so I thought, it was also misfiring/stumbling fairly badly,
Pulled all connections, cleaned, dielectric grease on them, fixed some of it. And it turns out the fellow who did the timing belt last didn't exactly remember to put the bolts back on the fuel rail.... Okay, that's fixed now.
Put in a little heavier oil, and no more issues with the light coming on, but I do have some lifter noise it seems like.
As well, the car will not rev past 5k in neutral or under load. Air filter is new, and no obstructions through to the intake manifold.
I'd guess based on the missing bolts here and there, the guy was a bit of a hackjob mechanic and i'm guessing has the belt out a tooth or so.... I can't see anywhere to stick a timing light on to verify ignition timing, how to check the timing belt is straight up? It's a bit of a dog compared to the other accent i've been in. The power band is like 2000-3500 and it just won't climb anywhere past that.
My overdrive keeps turning on and off. I've tried turning off the OD but it keeps switching on and off.

Is this problem common to the Accent 2010 model. Possibly the blower resistor open circuit.
I recently returned from a 500+ miles roadtrip in which the low oil pressure light blipped on twice. It happened so fast that I couldn't even tell what it was the first time, I thought it was the tires. So i stopped, checked the tires and kept driving, about another 100 miles until I got home. The second time it blipped very quickly again but I caught a glance this time and it was the 'low oil pressure' light.
When I got home I checked the dipstick right away and there was no oil on it, only a thick, copper colored type residue with what appeared to be little flakes. I put oil in until it reached the middle of the dipstick, which was 2.5 quarts.
I didn't hear the engine making any funny noises or anything out of the ordinary when driving. I put the new oil in and it started fine and sounds normal. - 2.5 Quarts low after 8300 miles, ok to drive? Should I be worried about any damage to the engine? Other than burning so much oil?
I filled all my tires with air, and the light still won't go off. It's winter so I don't know if that comes into play, but all my tires are at 30psi....

View 16 RepliesMy 2010 Accent has been stalling intermittently, always when I am idling. I'll be at a stop light, and it will stall, and then it usually starts right up again. It is almost always the same stop light on my way to work, like clockwork, and likewise on my way home from work. Also, sometimes right after this stalling event, the motor will be a little rough on the highway, sputtering like it's not getting gas very well, but then it evens out after a while.
Yesterday for the first time it died and wouldn't start again. I suspected my fuel pump had gone out. I had it towed to a repair shop, but it started just fine for them and they can't re-create the problem. It doesn't give any computer codes at all.
I have been having this issue randomly, sometimes it won't occur for days and other times it happens in a short period. I will place my key in the ignition, and everything will chime correctly, and when I turn over my engine, it sounds like the engine catches then it just stalls. The things I have changed so far is,
battery ( needed to be changed anyways)
spark plugs ( was set to be changed)
air filter
cabin air filter ( no relevant but still...)
oil
At first I thought it could be bad gas, since I fill up sometimes at safeways etc, but in my tank right now is 91 octane shell, I thought it could be spark plugs since I was a little over due so I changed them, and the issue never popped up for 2 more weeks, then it came back.
if I use my car starter it seems to start better, but it is maybe 1 out of 10 times it will just crank continuously without catching or anything.
I can hear my fuel pump whirl when the key is turned but not started, I checked the oil today and it is full and a light color, maybe 500 km on this oil change.

I've had my new left over 2010 SE for couple weeks now. done 600 miles.
I noticed at first a couple times when shifting from 1st to reverse while parallel parking and still slightly rolling forward, the the gear grinded a bit, despite the clutch being fully depressed. I figured maybe with this manual tranny compared to others i've driven that you just have to be dead still before shifting into reverse.
But then yesterday morning from my driveway, from a standstill I shifted into reverse and it grinded too, again with the clutch fully depressed. Is this normal with these cars? I've driven manual gtis and a ford focus and never experienced this before? Is this a problem?
the fact that it's happened three times now within a couple weeks tells me it's not me being sloppy on the clutch, it is definitely grinding with my foot all the way down on the clutch.
My TPM light went on coming into work this morning. I did a visual check, everything looked ok. When I got to work got out the old gauge and they all show about 28 psi. The manual states it can go on due to 'natural causes' but doesn't really go into detail. Will it goes on if any/all tires fall below a certain psi? I'll be going back out later to check again to see if one of the tires is going flat.

View 48 RepliesI have a 2012 Elantra with about 47,000 miles, and I've noticed that the oil pressure light comes on for about 2-3 seconds at startup. It never comes on while idling or driving, and the car runs like a champ. I checked the oil level, and it's good, and I get regular oil changes.
View 14 RepliesIt was very cold in the morning yesterday and my tire pressure warning light came on. I had a funny feeling that it was related to the temperature but it didn't ever go off so I called Toyota today and they said to drop by with it and they would check it out. On the way there after work I got rear-ended. So sad. I thought it was just the bumper but the hatch won't latch properly so they said they would have to 'pull something out...". It was going to be about $800 for a new bumper but now will be more. I'm going tomorrow to see their collision guys about a quote to fix it. My poor car. I have to admit that even with a dented bumper the car still looks good!!! I don't know how I'm going to manage for the two days it takes to get it fixed. I have to re-learn how to use one of those key things.
The Toyota service person told me that he had 14 cars in today alone to reset the tire pressure warning lights that came on because of the cold weather. He said my tire pressure was fine. Just my bumper needs a little work.
