I have this problem of my in dash cluster flickers and dims at the same time? Also the green lights on indicator flickers and disappears? Took it to the Dealer and put in a new multi function switch, but still does the same thing?
View 1 RepliesMy girlfriends 2013 Hyundai Accent is having some problems. Yesterday, the Check Engine Light came on, but went out on its own maybe 15 minutes later. She did not feel that the car was running any differently.
This morning, after the car being parked through the night with the parking brake applied (she usually does not apply the parking brake), she observed that it still felt like the brake was applied when she tried reversing out. I told her to pull and release the brake a few times, but she said it was no luck.
What this might be?
So first time esc light came up on cluster was around 56k miles. No cruise control or ability to use obd2 port. No cel just esc light on..... Dealer fixed by replacing a blown fuse behind fuse panel. That lasted maybe 500 miles and esc light back on with same symptoms. I replaced fuse myself, which fixed it, just to last maybe 100 miles before coming back on again. Replaced fuse again and waiting to see how long it lasts. I will be going back to dealer to see what they come up with but not sure what is making it blow fuses all of a sudden and so frequently?
View 5 RepliesMy right rear brake is making a grinding noise when the brakes are applied. I took the drum off a couple weeks ago and the shoes are just a bit worn. Just getting into the numbers printed on the side of the shoe material.
I could not see any thing that would be making the metal on metal sound. Are there any wear indicators on the OEM shoes?
I have an 2002 Hyundai Auto.
My car has the clicking noise under the following situations:
1) rolling in neutral with/without brake applied
2) rolling/decelerating without gas pedal pressed (I guess the same as rolling in neutral) with/without brake applied
The noise is the most noticeable when going at around 20 to 30mph, and would be gone under very low speed <5-10 mph. The weird thing is when I press the gas pedal and the car is accelerating, the noise is gone too.
My mechanics said it is because the wheel cylinder which is noisy. But I don't quite understand why the noise is gone when the car is accelerating.
I bought a 2012 honda civic HF, now has 1000 miles. I hear a clunk when I release the pedal. I heard the same noise on another car that was on the dealer's lot. The dealership has not been useful with fixing this issue; they said the clunk is normal. Honda has not been all that supportive. What is making this sound and what can I do about this?
View 5 RepliesHave the dimming red readout problem? I start the car and it's normal and then after driving for a while the led screen drops out and you barely see the digits?
Also, the digital speedo in the same screen does not read accurately, it doesn't keep up with the real speed changes and it just shows a speed and then gets stuck.
Our 2007 Camry dashboard lights up like as it should (regardless of lighting conditions) then after starting the engine or turning the key to the ON position, it dims to total darkness in about 3 seconds. I need this fixed tonight otherwise my wife will take my Tundra to work.
View 4 Repliesi have a 2010 f-150. during the day normal sunshine the gauge area is to dark to see any unless you put your head down close to the steering wheel.at night when the lights are on it is just great. At dusk the lights on the dash come on by them self. is there something i can do to have them on all the time i have good eyes & do not wear glasses.

It becomes difficult to see/read when the sun hits it just right...especially wearing polarized sunglasses. I have the dimmer switch set all the way high. Is there a way to increase the backlighting or have it not dim as much with the headlights on?

Its a relatively new truck. 21K miles - 2014 F-250 Super Duty 6.7 Powerstroke.
I don't want to go to the dealer yet, because its emissions deleted, tuned, and lifted. I don't really want to hear their bull rhetoric.
I have unplugged the ABS sensors for a few minutes while running, plugged them back in and its gone away for a period of time, but now its back again.
Just trying to figure out what the problem is and see if its something I can just fix myself.
I have a 2012 dodge caravan bought new. After about 6000 miles the left rear brake began making a grinding noise, only when applied, every time the car sat more than a few hours, that goes away after about 2-3 miles. It began in winter and continues into the warm and dry days of spring now with 9000 miles total. Had it to dealer twice and inspection found no malfunction so they say its from rust build up because it goes away all the time and is nothing to worry about. It does not occur with the other wheels. My niece has the same van, in same geographic area and does not have this problem. Does this selective rust build up explanation make sense? Previously burned with bad brakes on a caravan, so am skeptical.

View 7 RepliesWhen I open the driver door at night, the brake pump would dim the interior lights a little while running. Is this normal for a 6 month-old aux battery? All my trips are 30 mins or longer so it has plenty of opportunity to recharge.

View 4 RepliesCar won't start this morning. Put the key in, turn it, and all the dash lights come on but the MPD flickers in sync a rapid clicking noise and I get an "Airbag Error" on the display. Lights, fans, etc work. This has to be tied to the fact that I totally blanked after going out to close my windows and left the keys in the ignition for approximately five hours. The key was in the ACC position, so I assume that led to battery drain on a battery approximately three years old. I've got a trickle charger on it now.
Just figured I'd check here verify that these batteries are not too temperamental/delicate for use with a trickle charger. Also to see if the general opinion is that running the car will recharge the battery or if I should just head out and replace it since three years seems to be the life of these batteries based on what I've read.
Just got the car. The salesman changed the radio to English. When I got back in the car later that week it was back to Turkish. Also the Dash info is in Turkish. How to change either configurations?
2015 CRDI w/ Nav
I'm starting to be a little annoyed with a rattle in the passenger side dash area. I looked around to check if there was anything obvious, but I couldn't find anything...
I sometimes get that noise while driving over bumps, but oddly, I usually tend to get it when I accelerate and get the engine at a specific RPM (like some sort of resonance frequency issue?!?). What could cause this?
Went to the mall the other day for a few hours, when I cam back out and when I went it start my car it would not start. Symptoms are weird, I can hear the starter begin to crank then it stops and the dash flickers on and off, interior and exterior lights flicker on and off, starter cranks on and off also. This keeps going until I push the start button again twice to turn the car off.
This keeps happening every time I try to start it. When I popped the hood I noticed the positive battery cover was open.. I closed it and when someone tried to start it for me the cover flew open. It was like 2 seconds after the starter cranked a master circuit breaker would trip, then reset over and over again.
Stranded on a Saturday, I had to join CAA online and request a tow to the dealership. The tow truck guy said I was the 4th push to start hyundai with exactly the same issues he had a call for that day. He went in the car vanished under the dash and got the car started. He would n't tell me what trick he did, but he said drive it to the dealer and leave it there as it was a one shot trick.
I recently had my '02 Accent serviced. When I picked it up, the mechanic had set the parking brake with about 15,000 lbs of force. Once I got it released, I noticed that the red parking brake dash indicator light won't go off while the car is running.
I have verified the brakes are free, and have tried wiggling the brake handle.
Is there a switch somewhere that could be bad? For the record, I do most minor maintenance myself, and have 214,000 trouble-free miles on my 1.5L SOHC Accent.
