2012 Azera with 29000 on the clock. Dealer replaced the battery last July. I am now having problems again with the battery going dead. Taking it back to dealer on Tuesday. I thought it was the 90evening it was only around 80 and the battery was dead again.

View 2 RepliesThe stereo will power off after 10mins or so (even if the ignition button is on ACC or Power position), and the radio screen shows a battery discharge warning (this goes on before the power gets cut off).
Is there a way to keep the stereo power on even with the engine off? The ignition button is already on ACC or Power (without engine on) and the system still cuts off the power after 10mins or so...
Since day one, I've had problems with entering destinations into the GPS screen. It randomly throws in characters that are nowhere near the one selected. I've tried to re-sync the screen, by following the available instructions, to no avail. Other than this issue, the car is great!
View 7 RepliesI've noticed that the display shows the Battery Discharge warning while the vehicle is running. I notice it while reversing, because - well, I'm watching the image from the camera. The message goes away in a few seconds and the regular "look around you" advice appears. It doesn't happen every time nor does it follow a change in weather. Just random occurrences.
View 10 RepliesI have a 2012 Azera and when I enter and exit the vehicle, the driver seat will automatically move forward and backward. I have noticed that it just started making a loud clicking noise when moving forward and backward. Is this a motor issue, something under the seat, or maybe just a lubricant issue?
View 21 RepliesBought a 2012 Azera a couple of weeks ago. When the engine is cold and I shift into reverse there's a loud bang and the whole car shakes. Feels as if I've been run into, or the transmission is going to fall out. I have also noticed some delayed upshifting (doesn't accelerate for a second but then really takes off). My 2007 Sonata did that a little, so I thought maybe it was a Hyundai thing, but maybe not.
My main concern is the BANG into reverse. The dealer said they can't get me in for several days, and that they don't have loaners, but they "might" be able to get me something to drive while they look at it. Honestly, the service guy sounded skeptical, and I guess I imagined a little better/faster response for such a new car. I'm almost afraid to drive it right now, the bang is so violent.
I'm pretty upset about this, it's my first really nice car. Has some sort of transmission issue with a new Hyundai? Anything in particular I should look for, say, etc.?
I got the ECU Update Friday.. Today my 12 volt battery died. (got it started after a jump)..Any correlation?? Toyota service days no. Is there any kind of a warranty on the 12 V battery? 2011 with about 40k on it seems way low for the battery to die. No changes in driving habits since ECU update either...
View 7 RepliesI have a 2011 Nissan 370Z, base, 6 speed stick, just over 7k miles.On Saturday I washed the car, then took a short drive and put the car away unlocked.On Sunday morning the driver's door was locked, nothing responded to anything. The battery was completely dead.I charged the battery for a couple hours and the car started normally and ran fine the rest of the day and every day since.The dealer checked everything and found no problem.No, I didn't leave the lights on...they would go off automatically anyway.
View 3 RepliesMy Mom purchased a new 2011 Lexus RX350 last spring. The dealer installed a remote starter at the time of purchase (we live in Alaska). We've had a continuing problem with the battery going dead if the car has not been driven for a period of time (like 4 days). When she does drive it, it is for short trips (3 miles round trip to work). The original battery was replaced in fall with a heavy duty one, but the problem continues. Its been to the Lexus dealer (130 miles away) several times, but they claim everything is within the tolerances and "there is no problem".
They did note that the remote starter was drawing more than it was suppose to and reinstalled it. Their finding was that she was not driving it enough and recommended a battery tender, which has been installed. That works as long as she plugs it in daily. However, if a plug in is not available (like at the airport, hospital or if she is visiting) the battery goes dead after 4 days (even after it has been driven 100 miles).
I have been out of the country for the past 3 months and I left my car at my parents place. I have a 2011 Sonata SE with Nav. I got a call from my dad saying that my car is dead (battery) and the doors have locked. He previously was able to jump the car since he was able to open the doors with the key fob remote. Now the doors will not open. I assume the battery has died beyond where the key fob can open them. I return back home this week and would like to be able to deal with this headache before I return and come back to a working car. How to get into the car or at least popping the hood without being able to get in the car? I've read up about other cars having a backup battery or special mechanism on the door handle for these situations so I would think Hyundai thought this through...
View 35 RepliesWe just got our 2012 Camry XLE about 1 month ago. Today, the smart key push start didn't work; the brake pedal seemed like it was seized, but the green (key) light did manage to come on, indicating it knew the key was there. When I pressed the start, all of the dash lights were flickering, but the car wouldn't start. Was towed to the dealer, who ran a diagnostic that indicated the battery had failed (the options for the diagnostic are pass, charge, and fail). They installed a new battery and it seems fine.
One of the doors wasn't completely closed overnight - would this have caused the battery to be done? I could see if it caused the battery to drain, requiring a boost / charge.
I was installing xenon supply HIDs in my 2012 Sonata and when attaching the power cable to the battery my ratchet went ahead and touched metal while it was assisting me in tightening the nut
Small spark, tiny puff of smoke and the popping sound associated with such an event. I see what appears to be a little fuse under a clear plastic cover on the positive battery terminal itself. On it says 150 AMP. the pop sound came from that. So I am assuming its blown.
Here is my real concern...the red battery symbol now stays on when I start the car...
If my traction battery has plenty of 'juice' in it, and my 12v battery is dead....is there any way to 'jump' the 12 volt battery with the traction battery to get the car started?

I drive a 2006 Hyundai azera. I cant get under the hood because my hood latch broke inside my car. What does the code mean for recharge battery? Was it because it was raining and maybe got wet??

White with chestnut, 23k miles. Went 12 rounds with the dealer . We finally came to an agreement.
Only one complaint with it. The steering is lousy. Feels numb, wanders, constant attention needed. Very tiring.
Wanted an Azera when I bought the Sonata, but price to much. So while I'm disappointed with the handling, (even the wife noticed the steering ) the rest of the car lives up to expectations.
I started my car last evening and it hesitated and balked and the check engine light came on. It started fine this morning, but would not go above 30mph even with accelerator down all the way. I checked the diagnostic codes from Bluelink and it said there is a possible condition with my Engine Control System and should be checked soon. The car only has 4,000 miles and has been fine until now.
View 5 RepliesLast Wednesday, I went to the parking lot after a lunch meeting and my 08 Azera would not turnover. I assumed it was a bad battery (53,000 miles on the original) so I replaced it in the lot (The original tested dead at the parts house). After connecting the terminals of the new battery, the car would still not turnover. It wouldn't even click. I called road side assistance and when they arrived the car started fine by just turning the key - no charger/jump system was attached . I drove the car the rest of the day and put it in the garage that evening.
The next morning, the car would not turnover again - not even a click. I called roadside assistance again and they came out and connected a portable charger and it turned right over. I drove the car to the dealer and it continued to start without issue and they were unable to diagnose any problem. They did a parasitic draw test but the new battery continued to test as fully charged. They also checked the starter and it appeared to be functioning properly. I parked the car that evening and the next morning it wouldn't turnover - not even a click.
I've had my '12 Azera for about 6 weeks. One issue with the car is the inside of the windshield on the driver's side won't stay clean. I can clean it and the next day it has a film on it. The longer I leave it, the bigger the area gets. I've tried all different types of cleaners with no better results. I had a GM car that did this, was told it was from the gases escaping the plastic molding inside the car near the windshield. The Azera doesn't have that. I'm puzzled why it's doing it and how to stop it.
View 18 RepliesEvery time I start my 2013 Azera there is a rattling of the valves like there is no oil in the top end. I have heard other owners complaining about this so I asked my dealer when I went in for an oil change. The last three changes I have asked and he told me the same thing, there is nothing being reported. So I got my oil changed and went home. Parked the car for 6.5 ~ 7 hours and when I started it up the sound was louder than ever. I called the dealer back and told them. They asked me to leave it overnight so they could hear the noise for them selves. I dropped the car off that evening.
I got a call the first thing in the morning and they said that their tech did hear something and they were going to test it again in two hours and call me back. They called back and said they believed it was the CAM phasers. They gave me the car back while they ordered parts and rounded up a loaner. I dropped it off on Thursday.
Two weeks later (today) I picked the car up. Here is what they did. It turned out to be the CAM Phasers so when they got in there they also had to replace the CAM shafts (All 4) as well. I am sure there was more going on than what they told me, after all they had the car for two full weeks!
Is there a way to remove the prompt on the map display on engine start?
