I can't find the fuse for the overhead map reading lights. Which fuse is it and what is the rating?
I've found a bunch of videos on disassembling the light portion of the fixture but how can I take the entire fixture out? I'd like to tap into the power that's going to it.
I'm trying to replace my dads 2007 Camry XLE japan built headlight assembly because his are insanely oxidized. Besides OEM's and CAPA's, what else are there? Any good aftermarket headlight assembly and achieve great results?
View 8 RepliesThe bulb in my overhead dome light has burnt out. I have the 194 wedge bulb. I have a moon roof. The owners manual gives no instructions to replace the bulb. I have looked the area over and do not see any easy way to gain access. Any instructions to replace the bulb?

The list is many Prime Choice, Detriot Axle, Unity, FCS, AST, Sensen, ect.... Maybe they all are made at the same factory. FYI Monroe and Gabriel could be made in China. KYB complete units are assembled in USA, I called them up.

I figure i'm going to have to go from the stereo behind the dash up to the left through the side panel next to the windshield, through the roof and into the compartment. How to pop these panels without breaking the clips.
View 10 RepliesI have an '02 camry v6. My hazard lights started blinking when the car is off and aren't responding to the on/off button. When I turned the car on they stopped for a few seconds then blinked rapidly several times, then back to normal blinking. I tried disconnecting the battery and restarting the car. The battery is only a few months old. What could be causing it? Where is the fuse for it located?

It is a Bulldog system, on the website it describes it as "Black (-) wire" located at "BodyECU in vehicle fuse box 26 pin plug pin 23" The fuse box cover does not identify fuses by number and i do not see anything that looks to be parking light related.

So now i can't drive it because I have no brake lights. I'm thinking there is a short somewhere, where to start my troubleshooting?
View 4 RepliesCEL - code escaping me but it said #7 glow plug (ordered a scantool yesterday).
Shifting - its at lowest been in the 30's and the truck has issues shifting until its warm. Its wierd, its like the water temp gauge stays at cold, then snaps up and shifting is fine from then on. Takes what I think is a long time to get there, not a gradual temp change, just like click and the gauge is on.
Lots of electrical looking issues, maybe all tied together?
- Shut doors sometimes flashers blink
- Overhead console no longer lights up
- Door ajar and overhead lights on when doors are tight
- more oddities but I can't think of them now
both this winter and last winter as it gets colder my GX will indicate that a door is ajar and the overhead lights come on and then within a few seconds they both go out. this seems to occur when accelerating from a stop and resolves once the vehicle gets over about 15 mph. in my estimation this seems to be related to the rear cargo door as if it partially opens just enough to let the sensor knows its slightly open. the dealer has been unable to duplicate it and it only happens when its around freezing or lower.
View 9 RepliesThe headlights went out on the automatic "arrive home mode" more than the programmed 15 seconds. The interior overhead and foot lights took as much as 5 minutes to cease and desist.

I've noticed that my overhead lights sometimes turn on when the driver's door is opened and sometimes they do not. (the overhead switch is in the middle "door" position). They work when the passenger door is opened but sporadically with the driver's side.
I haven't had time to RTFM on the MFD lighting selections but is there something that controls this in there? When they did want to work, they would turn on for about a second after the door is opened and then faded out. The only thing I've done recently is the fuel tank recall but this could've been pre-existing and I never picked up on it.
In my 7, if I hit the roof console center light button, it would illuminate both the front of the cabin, and my accent lights in the rear cabin, allowing me to see the kids in the back at night or ensure they have light if they can't find something.
On the Phaeton, I have not yet been able to figure out how the driver can turn on the rear cabin lights. I have the lights set on to come on when the door opens, but obviously that isn't an option underway. Is there a way for the driver to illuminate the whole cabin from the drivers seat?
I am currently putting the interior of my car back together after a water issue force me to remove everything and have just put the carpet in. While stopping for the night, I noticed that all the overhead lighting doesn't work, the key fob can't lock the car, I can't open the trunk via the button on the door and even if I close all my doors, the car door open light stays on. However, the dash, vents, radio, gauges and headlights work, the car starts, the headlights and tail lights work, and the gas door button works. The ONLY thing I did was remove a #53 block relay that was wired into the rear fogs, since the way the fogs were wired up, they weren't working.
So I removed the relay and wired the fogs directly to the headlight switch. The wiring of the relay was, one wire going to the #9 pin on the headlight switch, one wire going to the 12V source and the last one going to a ground, nothing else. I didn't touch any other wiring or pull any wiring out. What my car is doing now? I was hoping to have it together to go to MIVE's chilifest tomorrow, but this electrical issue makes me uneasy about driving my car over an hour from home without a trusty tow vehicle to rescue me if it goes south.
CHRYSLER CONCORD LXI 1999 - problem with INTERIOR LIGHTING . , EVERY SO OFTEN while driving.
My wife and I have had the car for about three years and it is immaculate - within the last year we replaced the computer.
I am working with a 2006 Mountaineer Premium with rear heat/ac, sunroof, and Homelink. I need to remove the overhead console to replace burned out map lights. I cannot determine how to remove the console.
The shop manual has instructions for 2 styles of overhead consoles but not the one in this vehicle. Those 2 styles have a sun glass or garage door opener compartment that you open to access some screws.
This console has the map lights at the front, the controls for the rear ac/heat in the middle, and a panel for the sunroof switch and Homelink buttons at the rear. There is no room for a compartment that opens.
I can get the front portion loose by pulling it down off the clips. The back seems to held in by screws. I do not want to apply much force to avoid damaging anything.
I decided to replace my interior light bulbs with LED's. I started by swapping out the overhead lights. There is one bulb for the dome light that lights up when the doors are open. That light works fine with the new LED bulb. But the two bulbs for the map lights won't work. When I was installing them my screwdriver touched somethings and made a spark. I figured I blew a fuse but all the fuses under the dash don't appear to be broken.
Why is it that the door ajar dome light works but the two map lights wont turn on? Are they not on the same fuse? Is there a fuse in the fuse box under the hood that I should check? I also noticed that my radio has no power. Fuses looked good. The wiring seems fine. The lights worked before I swapped the LED bulbs in. Tried putting the halogen bulbs back in and they still don't work.
So my overhead ac/heater control lights front and rear went out, where the lights are to replace them.
View 3 RepliesOne of the LED lights in the front overhead panel appears to be burned out. How do I replace this? These are the lights up next to the sunroof controls. One switch controls three of these LED's. I'm hoping this is an easy repair.
2007 ES 350.
My mom just got a 2007 mercury mountaineer. Its an overall great vehicle. better than her corolla she had. But theres one problem. when it rains really hard, it leaks in the overhead light above the rearview mirror. We think it has something to do with the sunroof. and It leaks around the back glass. Not sure what is causing that.
