The bulb in my overhead dome light has burnt out. I have the 194 wedge bulb. I have a moon roof. The owners manual gives no instructions to replace the bulb. I have looked the area over and do not see any easy way to gain access. Any instructions to replace the bulb?
View 2 RepliesThe bulb in my dome light started to flicker all of a sudden and now it won't even turn on. It will not turn on whether the switch is in "Door" or "On" position. I put back the original bulb to see if the bulb burnt out but still nothing.
All other interior lights/exterior lights work except for the bulb in the middle of this picture. I'm thinking it may be a fuse....
02 Camry, how to I remove the burnt license plate bulb? Took off the underside trunk carpet and disconnected bulb harness, but I don't know how to remove the plastic piece that holds the bulb in place. Does it pull out, or twist out? I don't want to break it!
View 1 Repliestoday i was installing some lights in my car. i decided to use the shift light as my power source so i tapped into it but during the process i accidentally shorted it and i believe i blew a fuse somewhere. the shift light hvac control and the radio lights no longer turn on. Where is the fuse that blew and is it possible that theres a fuse behind the radio that blew?

View 5 RepliesThe ESP light to come on while cruising on dry pavement and then the burnt bulb light to come on. They both stayed on until the engine is restarted. I had 3 incidents with the same behavior so far in a month and they stayed on for the duration of the trip.

View 14 RepliesI just replaced a burnt out tail/brake lightbulb and found that I had sockets for 5 lights yet only 3 were filled....two were empty. How could this have happened and shouldnt they all be filled? I replaced the blown one but I feel like I should get 2 more per side to make it a full housing. I also am not certain what kind I need . The turn signal bulbs are fine....it's just the tail/brake light bulbs. Why were they not filled? 2002 V6 Passat.
View 7 RepliesI wanted to replace the bulbs in my map light but ran into some problems. I was able to remove the first see-through plastic cover on the light. Also I was able to twist one of the bulbs out of the socket so it was loose but there didn't seem to be a way to pull the bulbs out of their metal holders. I tried with medium to light pressure on the right side bulb and it slipped from my fingers and jumped back into the area on the other side of the metal holders. Now I can't see it or reach it. What do I need to remove to retrieve the bulb and how do I remove it?

I've found a bunch of videos on disassembling the light portion of the fixture but how can I take the entire fixture out? I'd like to tap into the power that's going to it.
So I bought an unused/uninstalled HID kit (Xenondepot) from another member on the board recently and installed it in my GX470. I have had aftermarket HID kits (Toyota OEM ballasts and D2S Philips bulbs w/adapters) in other cars so I know how to install them and what I need to be careful of (don't touch bulbs, good connections, etc).
Well, after about three hours of burn time over a few days with about 6 start up strikes, my drivers side is failing. The bulb did not strike one time so I turned the lights off, waited 10 seconds and turned it back on to restrike the bulbs and the both came on. When I started the car later that evening, the drivers side did not work again. I tried the same restrike process and no dice. The drivers side never came back after that.
I know XenonDepot has no liability to me since I did not buy the kit directly from them but I am not sure where I should buy a single replacement bulb from since it seems like the new bulb was defective (the kit was brand new and uninstalled).
I decided to replace my interior light bulbs with LED's. I started by swapping out the overhead lights. There is one bulb for the dome light that lights up when the doors are open. That light works fine with the new LED bulb. But the two bulbs for the map lights won't work. When I was installing them my screwdriver touched somethings and made a spark. I figured I blew a fuse but all the fuses under the dash don't appear to be broken.
Why is it that the door ajar dome light works but the two map lights wont turn on? Are they not on the same fuse? Is there a fuse in the fuse box under the hood that I should check? I also noticed that my radio has no power. Fuses looked good. The wiring seems fine. The lights worked before I swapped the LED bulbs in. Tried putting the halogen bulbs back in and they still don't work.
Looking for instructions and pictures or video on how to change the bulb in the gear shift panel of my 2007 ES....
View 2 RepliesMy mom just got a 2007 mercury mountaineer. Its an overall great vehicle. better than her corolla she had. But theres one problem. when it rains really hard, it leaks in the overhead light above the rearview mirror. We think it has something to do with the sunroof. and It leaks around the back glass. Not sure what is causing that.
View 5 RepliesMy friend with a 2007 SC430 has been having weird electrical issues for the past few years. He's owned the car about 6 years now, and probably 3 or 4 years ago things seem to have started acting up:
- the car burns out headlight and foglight bulbs very often, usually after less than a year since they are replaced. It hasn't mattered if the replacements he tries are OEM Lexus or aftermarket, they burn out within a year or so - sometimes within only a few months. He previously owned a 2002 SC430 for about 4 years and never had to replace any bulbs. On the 07, it's usually always one of the driver's side bulbs that will go first, and then within a month or two the passenger's side goes. Sometimes a headlight goes, then the foglight on the same or opposite side goes. Other times a fog goes out and a short time later the headlight on that side goes out.
- his driver's seat heated seat stopped working earlier last year. First the "bottom" stopped working, then a few weeks later the "back" section stopped too. Lexus diagnosed blown heating elements, which can't be replaced without replacing the entire section of the seat. So he found a complete seat from a wrecker and swapped it in. Everything worked fine for about 3 months, and now he is back to no heated seat again (this time both the back and bottom sections stopped working at the same time)
A Lexus dealer spent 4 hours "diagnosing" the car and came back saying all electrical systems are normal, so they can't say why the bulbs are always burning out or why two different seats have stopped working. The car is getting up there in mileage (closing in on 200K miles) but has always been properly maintained.
Just bought an 02' camry and the high mount brake light on the spoiler is half burnt out. Tried removing what I'm guessing is an LED assembly but the screws are stuck and the angle is really awkward. Am I going to have to replace the whole LED bar?

I am curious how to remove the panel and rotary dial to access and replace the bulb. I've searched the forums but cannot find a description with pictures (hope I didn't miss it somewhere).
View 6 RepliesI bought an '02 LE, 4 cyl w/123k miles and found electric issues. Are they somehow related and indicate a bigger issue? No lights by shifter (PRINDL). Auto shut-off for overhead light works intermittently. Driver door lock button works intermittently – at times when you pull to lock door it’s ok. At times it slides back and forth doing nothing, and can’t be locked manually w/ key or w/ remote. Driver and passenger windows kind of jump at start of open and end of close.
View 2 RepliesMy turning light needs a bulb replacement (I believe, since when I click to turn right it makes quicker clicking sounds). Does this mean bulb is out or wiring is out?
As for the side light (also on the right) has fallen off and can no longer be screwed back in place as that part has broken off so I will be buying the replacement part/lamp. However, when it fell, the wiring was disconnected so i have lost the bulb and any connection to it. I think I still have the rubber wiring harness, just missing the wiring & bulb.
