I bought a 2012 SE V6 about a month ago, and was wondering if this is normal. my gas light comes on when there is still 1/8 of tank showing on the gas gauge. The car shows about 19 miles left to empty.

When do you typically see your fuel light come on? I never need to let the tank run down very far but the other week I was curious about this. The fuel gauge was way less than 1/4 tank left and the range display was ~50kms. When I filled up shortly after it looked like there still would have been at least a gallon in the tank still.
Just feels weird because my last car (Camry) would throw the fuel light when you still had a full 1/4 left in the tank.
Ok so the fuel gauge says empty and the low fuel light stays on even though the tank is full. I'm assuming its either the gauges or the sending unit. If it is the sending unit where is it located on this car?

View 11 RepliesI recently replaced my gas tank in my Sundance, it was getting very rusty around the sending unit area and was starting to leak. Everything is back together and it is running well with no leaks. The new problem that it has, when the car is running, the gas gauge shows less than empty, even though it has a considerable amount of gas in it. When I shut the car off, the gas gauge slowly moves up to where it normally would be when it would be running. Did I somehow mess up the ground or did I cross something? This is my daily beater car and need a working gauge.

View 11 RepliesThe installation of the new 50 gal. Titan tank went well overall. Start up was smooth with no leaks but the fuel gauge is showing empty with about 45 gallons in the tank.
The sending unit was properly oriented ("clocked") so I'm guessing the electrical connector is not secure at the top of the sending unit. Not sure I can reach the connector without lowering the tank somewhat.
For the second time in 6 weeks My 2004 F250 Powerstroke has run out of fuel with the gauge showing a 1/4 tank. First time it was just under a 1/4 showing I had it towed to dealer and they told me it had sucked in the filters requiring replace and flush of system. The told me that this happening very often and I would be replacing all of the injectors at my cost. I told them that I didn't want this to happen again and to check out the fuel gauge and sending unit and replace if in doubt. Well they checked it out and found nothing wrong, told me it was accurate and should not be an issue again. Now 6 weeks later on the Friday night before a holiday, it did it again, this time with over a 1/4 tank showing. I really don't want to spend 6 grand replacing injectors and would really like to trust my truck again, getting to the point that I'm nervous at 1/2 tank.
View 9 RepliesI own a 2012 Toyota Camry LE (TCLE), and recently I've noticed that the "instrument cluster" shows "MAINT REQD" warning light on for more than a few seconds when I start the car. All other warning lights do turn off while the "MAINT REQD" is still ON for a few seconds more than I usually remember. This car has about 25K miles, and I bought it with 19K miles. Should I take it to a dealer for a check up? By the way, I was waiting until the end of February to take the car for a oil change, but I am now concerned with this stupid WARNING light

View 7 RepliesI have a 1999 Jeep Cherokee Sport with 140K + and recently had an oil change. I went on a 8 hr road trip split up between 2 days (there and back). On the way home I noticed my oil pressure gauge acting funny, going up and down but not past 40. Today, I drove home from work (10 miles or so) and the check engine light came on and the oil pressure gauge was very low, almost 0. I made it home but was very nervous and noticed both today and this weekend there was smell, burning or burned type smell. What should I do? I don't really trust the garage that changed the oil and was skeptical taking it there but was in a pinch.
View 12 RepliesFor 2 years I've had no issues connecting my bluetooth to my Samsung Galaxy 4 phone. All of a sudden the screen on the Camry shows that it's not paired with my phone anymore. I go into Bluetooth setup and the area where you add a new bluetooth device isn't even allowed. The only option on the Bluetooth screen that's allowed to be touched is the "paired devises" line. My son's iphone still shows up and my old phone shows up. I wondered if it wasn't my phone but then when I go back to install a new bluetooth device it won't even let me.

When I fill my gas tank, start the car, the fuel gauge pointer doesn't go completely into the "F" mark, see picture; I'll even wait after driving a few miles if the pointer will try to go past the "F" mark, but it won't. Could it be the gauge be faulty or the sending unit in the gas tank that's causing the gauge to read inaccurately?

Two days after, CEL goes away. Normally, I would just say that's it. I borrowed a friend's scanner and the error P0136 came up, even if the CEL was already off.

Just installed a new timing belt, water pump, thermostat and serpentine belt (the car was running great)
Here is the exact sequence of events that caused the issue:

I was working on the car
I backed up on to wheel ramps so that I could check the exhaust
I noticed that the car was idling high, so I removed and lubed the IAC with WD-40
I put the IAC back in place with grey RTV and tightened it down ( It's not leaking at all )
Here are the exact symptoms:

I turn on the ignition switch
The fuel pump pumps and sounds normal
The Fuel gauge shows about 3/4 tank (which is accurate... I recently filled the tank)
The low fuel light comes on (which makes no sense to me)
When I turn the ignition to the start position, the car cranks and sounds normal, but it doesn't even attempt to run. When I crank the car the Low Fuel light goes off, but the Fuel Cutoff light comes on (only while cranking). I also notice a slight smell of gasoline, but I can't find any fuel leaking or dripping anywhere!
What I've tried:

Looking for fuel leaks ( can't find any). Made sure the IAC is properly connected.
Verified and tested the Inertia switch in the right rear of the car ( it is working properly and has not been tripped). When I trip it, the fuel pump does not run. When I reset it the fuel pump works properly again.
Disconnected the + battery cable for 5 minutes or more in an attempt to reset the ECU. It didn't work. Symptoms remain the same.
So yesterday I was driving home from work.. I know my tank was 3/4 full. All of a sudden, my low fuel light came on and my gas gauge needle went to empty.
The needle sits at E, but it still says about 20 miles till empty on the MFD. When I left the house this morning, it said 5miles till empty.. by the time I got to work, it said 20. Kinda odd..
I will hook up the vagcom when I get home tonight, any area I should scan for? or just a complete scan? There is no CEL error on the dash though. What I could look at to fix this?
The tire pressure warning light has been on in my car for about a week. The dashboard computer says that the tire pressure in the front right tire is 17 psi, but when I use the pressure gauge, the reading is almost 40 psi. Is this something I should be concerned about? What could be causing this problem?

Can it still have 2 gal. past the E marker ?
I bought a used certified 2012 Toyota Camry LE with 6000 miles on it directly from the main and larger Toyota dealer two weeks ago, I chose to get original tires inflated with nitrogen which is a service provided by dealer.
Right now I'm realizing that the display screen is not showing me the tires at all, just the trip and gas consumption stats.
Before taking the car to dealer and get in line is there a way system may be reset so tires and of course pressure data are properly displayed?
I installed new rotors on my rear 1992 V6 Camry a month ago. Yesterday the ABS light came on. I asked my local mechanic about it and he said it was alright to keep driving the car as it was probably only a sensor. What this sensor would be? The brakes are still working fine.
