I Installed an HID kit and after starting the car for the first time the check engine light stayed on and shortly after the car started moving the trac orange light came on too.. its a pic of a car with sliding marks below it. What could be causing this??
View 3 RepliesVehicle is a 2003 SLE 3.0 L 1MZ-FE V6 Automatic. Problem: Check Engine Light on & TRAC Off Light on. AutoZone diagnostic produced three codes, P0155, all referring to Bank 2 Sensor 1. Was told downstream however after ordering matching DENSO part and then taking said part to a mechanic to install, mechanic tells me AutoZone diagnostic was incorrect. His diagnostic was telling him the malfunctioning O2 sensor was upstream, not downstream. Yet he did not tell me if it was left or right bank. He told me to find out from AutoZone or Advance Auto Parts?.I just want to make sure I get the right 02 sensor so I don't have to go through having the incorrect part installed again then removed just so I can return it to get the correct part. I've been told my car has three sensors, two up front, one underneath. I am aware it is best to get DENSO over Bosch.

View 4 RepliesI just had a new header installed (deletes first cat) and had my header back exhaust redone with high flow resonator and cat. As expected it eventually threw up my check engine light, I am assuming because the poor computer is utterly confused by what my 02 sensors are telling it. I was thinking tuning, but I am not sure where to find a tuner for the camry, or which tuners would work on the camry computer.
View 5 RepliesI have a small problem with my 2011 Camry base model manual transmission. I replaced my rear view mirror and installed the EC homelink with compass rear view mirror as the replacement. I followed the instructions and it works fine but after connecting the battery again and turning the car on my check engine light stays on. I had the same problem when I installed my HID head light kit and I disconnected the battery and apparently it reseted the computer because the check engine light turned off, but I tried to disconnect and reconnect the battery twice now after installing the mirror and my check engine light is still on. How to reset it?
View 6 RepliesI have a 2007 Toyota Camry LS that says check vsc system. The check engine light, vsc and trac lights are all three are on. That is a concern but another big concern is that is sometimes runs sluggish and acts likes it wants to stall. ?
View 7 Replies08 RX350 with ~100K miles. Two weeks ago the Check Engine/TRAC light were on, VSC light blinks, so I tightened the gas cap, and pull the negative and cleared the code. Hoping this is just a gas cap issue.
2 weeks later all those lights are back again, so my mechanic pulled the code and came up with P0128. He told me it should be the problem with the Coolant Temperature Sensor. The water pump, thermostat was replaced last year and coolant level is OK. No issue with coolant temperature and the car drives like normal. My mechanic cleared the code and told me to drive it again until the lights come back and he will pull the code again.

So I was under the hood and was checking something out and unplugged the MAF sensor for a bit and put it back. Put everything back to the what it is, but now I have TRAC OFF on my display and Check Engine Light.

View 14 RepliesI have a 2010 Corolla. The car is flashing the infamous VSC Off, trac, engine light! The car is still has the powertrain warranty. I was wondering if I should take it to a Toyota dealership.
But I read just getting the diagnostic itself is around $100. I don't want to end up paying for that if the repairs end up being something that's not even covered under the warranty.
Over the past year on my 2002 Camry, I have had my CE light come on and on the next start, the VSC TRAC lights will flash back and forth and then stay on shortly after moving the car. This seems to happen soon after a gas filling. I can put my reader on and usually find codes 0440 and 0402 which I can clear the CEL but the VSC TRAC light comes back on the next time I move the car. I have taken it to a dealer three times now and they have found no apparent problem and cleared the lights. But maybe the next time I fill up, it happens again . . . but not every time I fill up. I have read about the "fix" by shorting out pins 4 and 10 but I am not comfortable with that right now as there has to be a specific reason this is happening.

My car was slow to start last night. This morning took it to Autozone and they checked the battery, which was bad. Got the new battery installed and drove about a mile then turned off engine. Upon restarting engine, Check Engine Light came on.
The timing is such that it seems the CEL is because of the battery. How to handle? My car has otherwise run perfectly in its first 40,000 miles of life. Only other relevant detail is that the presets on my radio kept resetting, I figured this may be because of low battery power.
Okay, I bought this car used and the previous owner apparently didn't maintain it. So I spent the last couple months having a new (used) engine installed. All said it's been in the shop longer (by twice) than I've been driving it. On the way home from the mechanic the check engine light came on.
If I keep changing my oil every 2000 miles will it sludge again? Dealer recommended every 1500 to 2000 miles! I've spent 15k on this car so far, and driven it about 2k miles......

View 4 RepliesCheck engine light flashed for a very brief period, car ran very rough, and then check engine light (exhaust system malfunction) stayed lit. Took to dealer this AM and service advisor asked that I bring it back on Monday morning (loaner promised) but in the meantime, I could continue driving it unless the engine light started flashing. Car is now running okay, but last night it seemed to be running on only 6 or 7 cylinders. Only 93 or 94 octane gas is used and I've owned enough German cars to know how the gas cap should be tightened. Seemed like an oxygen sensor malfunction last night but now I'm not certain.

I was wondering if its something electrical or within the car's computer system. First time he replaced one of the catalytic converters. The light went off then reappeared several days later. He replaced the oxygen sensor. Light off again then back on 2 days later. Then he replaced the other catalytic converter. (I was told there are 3 of them). Once again the engine light went off but reappeared 2 days later.

When this happens and after letting the key out of the start position, the epc and cel light will stay on. After letting it sit for a while it will start.

It stays revving at about 2000 RPM and the check engine light is on. The engine is from Japan and only has 35,000 kms. on it.

My R is acting funny every once in a while it runs perfect then some other times it seems to big and the check engine light starts to blink but doesn't stay on I ran for codes and it said I had a miss fire but after that the code never came up again but it still blinks.
