Celica :: 1991 - Surging At Constant Speed In The Range Of 10 - 50 Mph Or So

I have a 1991 celica gt 5sfe hatchback. I am getting a surging at constant speed, at idle it's fine as well as acceleration. It only does it when trying to maintain a constant speed in the range of 10-50 mph or so. It's feels like I'm pushing the gas and letting off repeatedly. I took it to get an emissions test and it failed on the low side test with high co2 reading, everything else is fine and one place couldn't do the test because the surging kept kicking the computer out since they have to keep it at a constant 15 mph speed. I think whatever is causing the surging is causing me to fail the low side emissions. Could it be the iecu?

Corolla / Matrix 2009-13 :: 10th Generation Versus 9th Generation

I'm sorting through ECM and CEL issues on a 2006 Corolla. Are these issues still for the 10th Generation? I've driven 1982, 1992, 1996 and 2006 Toyotas w/ no trouble until this one (the 92 was lost in a 20-inch rainstorm in 1995).

Ford F-150 - 1997-2003 :: 2001 - Location Of Automatic Lights Sensor?

I've got a 2001 f150 XLT and I've checked the Haynes manual and searched Google but I'm having no luck.

I'm trying to locate the sensor for the Automatic Head Lights.

I had a small "spill" on the dash at night and immediately the lights started to blink and click. It fixed itself but sometimes it will do a weird little "click, click noise" change thing. I would like to clean the sensor or ensure it's not partially blocked.

Golf IV / Jetta IV :: Automatic Shifting - Code P0722 Output Speed Sensor

I just recently purchased my first mk4 golf 2.0 after having a mk3 jetta vr6 for two years. I've been having problems with the car shifting (automatic) i put a code reader on it and came up with p0722 output speed sensor which explains why it sometimes shifts at 4500. My two questions are where is the output speed sensor located? and what is a normal shifting range for properly running automatics?

Celica :: 2001 Toyota GT - Speed Sensor A P0500 / P0770 Shift Solenoid E

I have a 2001 Toyota Celica GT, automatic with 177,000 miles, it has been very well maintained. I started having a problem usually just after starting when it is still not completely warmed up. I try and shift it into reverse or drive, and the shifter says it is in those gears, but the car acts like it is in neutral. Once it gets a little warmer I can try it again and it will slowly shift into reverse or drive, usually though the rpm's seem to go a little higher than normal while it shifts. It seems to drive pretty well after this, shifting-wise, but not exactly perfect.

When it is completely warm though it usually drives really well - mostly I do a lot of highway driving. The transmission fluid is full, and looks perfect, nothing in it, not burnt. Previous owner had it changed a few years ago I believe. The check engine light is on and the codes are Speed Sensor A P0500, P0770 Shift solenoid E. My speedometer also works perfectly by the way. I don't have a lot of good shops around and I feel like the ones that are closest to me will see dollar signs in their eyes when they see that transmission code and will just try and replace the whole transmission right off the bat.

Santa FE SM (2001-06) :: Code P0715 - Input Speed Sensor Location?

My Santa Fe indicated P0715 for input speed sensor problem. I purchased both sensors and based on forum input I removed the air box and battery to access senors. Output speed sensor is easy to see and access. I am having a problem locating the input sensor. I see wires going to a sensor under both the main wiring harness and shift cable. Is that the location of the input sensor? If so how do you move the wiring harness and shift cable to allow access? If not, where is the input speed sensor located? The Santa Fe is 2001 V6 2.7L.

Celica :: 1991 GT Gas Mileage 19 Mpg On Expressway

I just purchased 91 Celica GT and have so far been very pleased except for one major problem. I thought Toyotas are suppose to get great gas mileage?. My car is an automatic with 150000 miles on the odometer. I'm getting around 19 mpg on the expressway. I bought this car thinking about good gas mileage. Is this normal mileage.

I've had the car tuned up (new plugs, wires, cap, etc.) I took it to my mechanic who put it on a computer and the emissions read O.K. and no code faults. I took it to a trans shop to see if the trans. was shifting O.K. and it checks out O.K.and the overdrive is working normally. I even double checked the timing to see if maybe the previous owner set the timing wrong when changing the belt. Checks out O.K.

The car seems to run and idle great with no roughness. Is this gas mileage normal and if not, how to improve it. I get better gas mileage from my 91 SUV explorer...
