My 98 front passenger side window won't move. I hit the main button and the door button and I get nothing. The rest of the windows are fine and the lock is off. It did work but I didn't use the window much during the winter.
View 4 RepliesMy driver side window switch as stopped controlling my passenger window. It used to at least lower it and then not raise it but now it won't do anything. However the window rolls down and comes up just fine if I use the passenger side switch. Does this sound like a bad switch in the driver side? This is a 2010 Elantra.

Husband uses this car as a rural mail delivery vehicle and drives it from the front passenger side. On the route today, it failed to open for him during the route -- very inconvenient to move all that mail to get in and out.
He needs to take the inside door panel off but doesn't see how with having the door open.

View 4 RepliesAll my windows work, except my front passenger side window. It will go down, but not up from the driver side switch. It works from the passenger side.
I did NOT replace my battery or lose power. It started when I was driving and wanted the window half way down, but it kept going fully up or fully down. I finally got it to where I wanted it to be, but after that i could no longer bring it back all the way up. It can go all the way down, but no longer up.
I am sure this is pure coincidence but we had to have a new battery put in my wife's '09 Avalon. Later in the day we noticed that the front window switch for the passenger window on the drivers side, does not work. The one on the passenger door works fine so it's not the motor. How difficult are these to replace? BTW, the window lock switch is NOT on.
View 13 RepliesYesterday my passenger front window popped out of it's track. Then when we tried to pop it back in and get it to go back up, it completely popped out and up about 3 inches from the frame of the door. Enough to be able to fit a had through no problem.
I am taking the car in tomorrow to have it looked at and get a quote to fix. From what I've read, it's a super pricey fix. So bummed because I just bought the car about 6 weeks ago (if that) ...

View 16 RepliesI have a 2004 Hyundia Santa Fe. The passenger front window will not roll down from driver side switch but will from passenger switch but then will not go up on passenger side switch. I found a broken wire on driver side and repaired it. I put a test light on the wires on the passenger side and used the driver switch and the test light lights when using the up button and down button! I have already put a new master switch in and tested all switches they all work!
View 1 RepliesOver the weekend I discovered that the rarely used front passenger's window makes a consistent, continuous, low-pitch grunting noise while being raised up. You know like the motor is about to give up. It hasn't slowed down compared to the driver's window.
View 1 RepliesI have a 2003 f250 ext cab LB 6.0l diesel with 260,500 miles. So last week I had rolled both front windows down and hit the road to work 45min trip and so I got a call and rolled them up to talk after the call was over I rolled them down. So when I got to work I rolled them up and at night I try to roll them both down to let out the heat and only my driver side went down so I hit the pass.side switch nothing I hit the driver side for the pass. And the light in the switch for the window on the pass side door went out.and didn't go down.
So now I tried up and you can hear the motor trying to go up but only if you use the pass.side switch the driver side does nothing up..... So I replaced both switches as I though rain and snow and dirt got into them and killed them nothing changed I checked for power to the motor and it has 12.2v on the up and when it switches wires to spin the motor to go down I only get 4-6v on both wires. So I checked the door jams for broken wires nothing and I can use my power prob to roll the window up and down so I think the motor is ok on the window..
I have a 2000 century with 77k miles. Recently the drive side a/c is hotter than the passenger side. Tried adding coolant but driver side is still hotter.
View 9 RepliesFixing issues with my truck. I just ordered some latex surgical tubing and am getting ready to fix the rattling noise in my rear door by using the Epic's Door Seal Mod. Hopefully this will take care of that issue.
One more annoying noise though. Has there been any fixes to the buzzing window noise that is coming from the front passenger side. If the wind is blowing right and I'm running over 50mph, at times get a loud buzzing noise and really bugs me. Something is vibrating and at first i thought i had a speaker going out but found out that wasn't it.
I've called my dealer and informed them of this and asked if they've heard of this but of course they haven't and this usually means the won't do anything besides look for recalls or something. I have the noise recorded and scheduled an appointment with my Ford Dealer but again, they won't do anything most likely.
The front passenger door on my 2000 Buick Century would not unlock. The mechanic unlocked it but said it needed new parts.

View 2 RepliesI have a 1999 GMC Jimmy and the driver side power window has stopped working. When I press the button to lower the window, I hear a click-click-click noise for as long as I am holding the button but the window does not move at all. Fortunately, it is in the up position. I don't hear any motor noise either when I hold the button down.
Chances are it is a real easy fix. I'm not sure about this but I think this issue began right around the time I had locked my keys in the car and they stuck something down inside the door to pop the lock (I wasn't home so I didn't see what they did). I just wonder if they didn't pull a wire loose or something when they were fishing around in there.
My right front window would barely move when I was opening it. Binding real bad on the way down. So I pulled the door panel, ( a two minute affair ) lubed all the tracks with silicone grease. Now the window goes down very easily.
I had all four doors done in an hour. To remove the door panels, remove the red reflector from the door, remove the screw underneath of it. Gently pry up on the window switch bezel at the front for the front door, and the side for the rear doors if so equipped. There will be another screw underneath. Unplug the switch, remove the screw. Remove the trip piece from above the hinge area. Push up on the panel and it comes off.
I used that real thick silicone grease that you can get a plumbers supply for lubing faucet o-rings. It looks like double thick vaseline. Windows work like a dream now.
Ok so here's the deal.. A few weeks back I started to notice my passenger side window started to roll slower than the driver side, not by much but its pretty obvious enough every time you either roll the window down or up.. I made an appointment with a VW service center to have them look at it but they said they can't do anything about it .. Is this true ..? The service guy told me that their would be no way to make the motor of the window go any faster or slower.. However I'm back here again due to some clunking/ticking noise every time I roll my pax side window which develop during their first assessment.. So they ordered me a new window regulator which is getting put in now.. The main and initial problem as to why I made an appointment in the first place was for VW service center to fix my pax side window rolling a bit slowly. Now since they are replacing the regulator of my pax side window I asked the service guy whether this would fix the problem of the window rolling slower compare to the driver side and he bluntly said no.. "we cannot make the motor of the window go slower or faster".. Is their any way to fix the rate of the window to go up or down..?

View 2 RepliesJust the other day I noticed that my passenger side mirror will move up and down, but not right and left. Drivers side works fine. The mirrors are all stock, I haven't changed them yet. It's been pretty cold out lately and I recently washed my car (on a warmer day). Could this be the cause?
