Car wont even crank, no power to any accessories.
Car is making a clicking noise from the engine fuse book too as well.
Low engine oil pressure light also comes on too.
Checked the oil which is fine.
Checked fuses 2 weeks ago and they were fine.
Need a working car.
...... 2010 Corolla LE 1.8L ...... View the video I uploaded ....... The noise is seems to be getting worse. My first thought is the bearings in the water pump may have failed. I'm also thinking that there isn't adequate lubrication near the gear assembly or the belt. Could there be a problem with the tension in the belt?

Other than that it's all good can not hear anything wrong driving on a smooth road or a highway...
View 9 RepliesI just recently bought 2012 CorollaS. Great car inside and out with about 20k miles. I've noticed under acceleration and sudden braking a pop is coming from the passenger fender area. I've replaced the motor mount on that side thinking that might have been the issue, but it's still there. What are the torque specs for the motor mount. Maybe it's simply not torqued correctly.
View 2 RepliesI just bought a 09 Corolla S a month ago. In the last few days I've been hearing a popping/knocking noise while I'm driving. It sounds like it is coming from one of the wheels but which one. It usually happens once I decelerate or driving at low speeds. If I brake the noise will stop. The rhythm of the noise doesn't seem to be consistent with speed I'm driving. It happens more often on bumpy roads but it still happens on smooth roads. I'm wondering what are the possible problems that are could cause this?
I don't know if this would relate to the sounds I mentioned but when I bought this car it had brake problems. It would grind pretty loud. The dealership ended up replacing new rear drums. So when I drove it home everything sounded good for about a week. The grinding noise came back and after I sprayed some brake cleaner it went away for a few days. I'm assuming thats what the dealership did to hide the noise. I went ahead and changed the front pads and that worked for a week or so...but the grinding noise is back. I was about to change my rotors this weekend when the popping/knocking sound I mentioned above started happening.
I just bought a used 2009 corolla, turns out a few weeks in, I am getting the infamous water pump/ac compressor clicking noise from the drive belt area.

Sounds like a Metallic rattling .seems to do it in the cold and warm weather . I have a feeling that its the water pump . Every time I take it to the dealer it doesn't make the noise. It's makes the noise on a regular basis . Check out the video... ignore the dirty dash low fuel light... I was parked by a gas station i swear.
View 3 RepliesA few weeks ago I started noticing what I would best describe as a whining noise when I accelerate. It's not very high-pitched but definitely noticeable. It seems the more I accelerate, the higher pitched the whine becomes, and I can only hear it when I am accelerating. It is not very loud: if I have the radio or stereo on I can't hear it. I have a 2009 Corolla LE with around 122k miles on it (I drive a lot for work.) A few weeks ago I had the car in for an oil change, and was told that my battery was getting low and will need to be replaced soon, so I'm not sure if that would have anything to do with it. As far as describing the specific location of where it is coming from, the best I can say is that it's coming from somewhere under the hood...I know that's a very vague description, but I can't really pinpoint it to anywhere beyond that.
View 3 RepliesJust recently purchased a 2013 Toyota Corolla LE. It has just under 500 miles as of today, and I was planning on changing the oil within the next week.
However, on my way home I noticed an almost ticking noise coming from the engine bay whenever I would accelerate. There wasn't a loss of power, but with the radio off and air off as well you could clearly hear it.
I have a 2011 CE Corolla, automatic, with only 4800 km, and since a week, I hear a noise coming from the right side (passenger side)of the car, coming form the wheels when the car moves very slowly. It's a kind of toc toc toc sound. When the car isn't moving, there is no sound. So it has to be a moving part.
When I drive faster I don't hear it, but when I slow down to walking speed, with my windows up and the radio and fan off, I can hear the cloc cloc sound, and I'm not sure if its coming from the front or back wheel.
I tried rotating my tires myself to see if all was good and tight, and I saw nothing abnormal.
Even when I'm barely advancing, like half the speed of a person walking, I can hear the cloc cloc sound.
I have a 2009 Toyota Matrix S. There is a rattling noise coming from my engine compartment whenever i drive 60+ mph. It sounds like it's metal on metal. Nothing is loose inside. I took it to the dealer and they told me the water pump bearings were bad and replaced my whole water pump. That didn't resolve my problem. The rattling is still there.
View 2 RepliesI bought a brand new 2013 Corolla S just 10 days ago. Everything seemed to be working great and I was really enjoying my car, until yesterday when we had a slight drizzle. I put my wipers into intermittent mode, and immediately noticed an audible "click" sound similar to that of the turn signals.
I was quite freaked out at first, so after parking my car I investigated a bit and found the noise was coming from the dash rather than from the wipers. After a few hours of digging around on the Internet, I'm 95% certain it's coming from the wiper relay, and that this is supposed to be "normal".
This is bugging the hell out of me, so my question is, if you can replace just the wiper relay, or would you have to replace the entire stalk/motor assembly? At this point I actually don't mind shelving out $200 if it means I can get some peace of mind, literally.
Which reminds me, if say you could get an OEM (or an ever better aftermarket) wiper relay, and you went to a mechanic to have it installed, would that void the warranty?
I understand there's variations and tolerances exist in manufacturing, but you'd think Toyota would've gotten something as simple as a wiper relay figured out! The 2013 Corolla S I rented for 3 months never had this issue, nor did my mom's 2005 Corolla, or my dad's 2011 RAV4. So why my car?
If your experiencing a clicking noise coming from the lower right side of your driver seat, more noticeable over rough roads with pressure applied to the backrest, read on. After much trial and error troubleshooting, here's what worked for me.
I removed the tension on a small clock like spring located on the driver seat back right side pivot point. Since having done so, no more annoying clicking sound and I haven't noticed any difference or adverse side-effect in seat operation /adjustment. I've got photos....
Well this week, everytime I was backing up, hit a pothole or sometimes when I turn either left or right or hit the brakes a clunky or sometimes metallic sound appears coming from the back the undercarriage.
First I thought may be one of the bars (TRD or the Ultraracing sway bars) were loose, we lift, checked the car with the guy who installed the bars and all of them were tight ,nothing loose, we discovered on the front is time to change the bushings of the front stabilizer bar and also the rods who run parallel to the shocks absorbers but we couldn't mimic the sound the shocks are fine.
Tonight my daughter was driving the vehicle so I have a chance to hear the clunky noise, which I think is coming directly from the inside of the drums the sounds intensified at the time of hitting the brakes but is not all the time you hit the brake when it happened.
Also I can't explained why I heard the sound when I turn left or right and still coming from the back, doesn't make sense I can't find no relation whatsoever

My sis has a 09 corolla le and was fine until 4months back. Her STOP fuse #9 would blow. She took it in to toyota, they replace her fuse for her and let her go.. A month later it happen she took it back and they replace it again, so about a week later it happen. Now the Toyota guy tries to check it and but cant find out the problem and tells her that she needs to go see an electrician... he replace for her and gave her extras for the long run... recently until now it was running fine, then it happen again, the #9 fuse blew up yesterday and today!... Her brake lights won't come on when she steps on it and it wont go into drive from park unless she press on that bypass switch.. I know that there could be a shortage somewhere..
View 8 RepliesI jump started a car tonight and while jump starting said friends car the radio and clock turned off I went to check fuses but the owners manual gives the fuse location for the standard non touch screen radio I went to look at the fuse for it and there wasn't one Is there a different fuse on the back of the touch screen maybe.

View 1 RepliesIt's a lite creaking clunk/shifting sound and only occurs in forward and when braking to a stop.It only makes the noise... when the brakes are initially applied.If the brakes maintain their engagement the noise no longer occurs.So... if the peddle is intermittently pressed when braking to a slow stop the slight shift/clunk noise will occur on each depression of the pedal.
The sound is located inside the engine compartment..guessing related to the brakes /or suspension components.If I were to take a stab at it's location in the bay.I would think it's loudest nearer the driver's side.I don't really hear it when I brake hard/stop abruptly.It's fairly audible within the cabin.I can't say it's a clunk... at least not fully yet but something has to be shifting slightly !? well maybe the front brake calipers/bolts are loose and the caliper is moving slightly... ? Or maybe a loose bolt on the suspension might be culprit.Could even be described similarly that of a dry coil-over seal compressing.but surely these struts/shocks can't have failed at only 30k ?I haven't pulled the front wheels off, yet, to inspect.
Very difficult for me to ascertain what might be moving/shifting while I'm operating the vehicle to make it occur.But I have to believe that fault lay with either the brakes or suspension.I'd also like to avoid the cost of a dealership diagnosis

ok so i noticed recently that there was this humming noise coming the rear right passenger side everytime i accelerated up to 30mph. the noise would get louder the faster i go. i got it checked by a shop and they told me that it had something to do with my wheel bearing. my car is lowered on coil covers and I have negative camber on my wheels. Why its making this humming noise or if its because i never got my alignments. I am thinking of throwing my stock suspension back in and letting the dealership deal with it since my car is still under warranty.
View 14 RepliesI just got a 2013 Corolla Saturday (manual transmission). So far, I love the car, but I think I'm having a problem with the steering column. When I turn the steering wheel in a parked position, I can hear an audible "rubbing" noise coming from the column. I called the dealership, and spoke not only to the service department, but also to my salesman, who has one too. He says he's never heard that, and the service department assures me it's normal and is because it's an electric motor now instead of a fluid power steering system.
So, do I have reason to be concerned? Experienced this after only 300 or so miles on a new car? We traded a Scion IQ for this Corolla (didn't like the CVT whine in the IQ), and never heard anything like this.
I recently bought a 09 corolla le and when the car is at 55-70 mph and probably other times too, a clicking sound starts. It sounds like a relay picking up and dropping out. So at this speed if I lift my foot it stops or decreases in frequency. When I press accelerator it increases in frequency.
It sounds like it is coming from passenger kick panel or behind glove box. I looked behind kick panel and did not see any relays. I could've over looked it.
There's a lot going on behind the glove box but didn't really see many if any relays. One thing that got my attention was a white cube with what may be a red led at the top of the dash behind the glove box. I also have not taken the time to drive and investigate.
