I have noticed on my 2011 Elantra, that the heated seat no longer remains on. I turn it on, level 1 or level 2, and a second later it turns off.
This only happens for the driver seat, passenger seat works fine. Why this might be?
I have a 2006 elantra. I just got it back from having a new clutch put in. My passenger side headlight, low beam, no longer works. I tried two different new bulbs and it still doesn't work. All the other lights on the car are working, including the high beam and running light on the passenger side. Is there something that would have been disconnected when they replaced the clutch? Is there something I should check?
View 1 RepliesIt seems the drivers seat heater only works when turned all the way up. Could the switch be bad, or is there some kind of variable resistor that goes bad? Dunno where to start really.
View 4 RepliesI took my 200000 mile Prius to a garage that is highly recommended and the mechanic stated that I need a new evaporator and expansion valve. He tested the car for a day. There was no time to do the fix so I arranged for a dealership that I trust to do the job. When they were ready to do the work, they detected no leak in the evaporator, but said that the compressor, expansion valve, and AC line needed replacement. (They showed me the leak in the compressor with special glasses.) After I called the first mechanic with the new info, he said that he could detect a leak nowhere, but, in the evaporator, and, at the expansion valve area. I am now stymied as to what I should do.

View 19 RepliesHow the rear seat vent works? When you started your car and car was moving, did you notice that vent is always blowing? OK, I just notice that my rear seat vent just keeps blowing when my car is moving. Especially, it is loud as I hear when I turn off my radio.
View 5 RepliesTook the car to the dealer, said "just turn off the beeps, all of them." The rep. said come back in an hour. Most of the beeps are off now, but I have an odd pair of problems.
1.) The rear hatch no longer beeps when open, but it also has no longer has the SKS function.
2.) The front seat belts no longer beep, but the front dome light no longer has an on-when-door-is-open function.
3) I'm waiting to see what bizarre side effects come from the single reverse beep.
The rep. says these are side effects from killing the beeps, that the nuisance beeps are tied to these two functions and that the only way to restore them is to bring back the beeps. He claims that the front beeps & dome light are triggered by a sensor inside the door that is part of the door latch, that when this sensor is disabled all its functions stop. I think he said it's the same problem with the rear hatch and its SKS.
I know it is obvious that a car that idles longer (and more often) will have reduced MPG, but I never thought or knew it to be so impactful. Well it is. I had been averaging around 365-375 miles per tank with my car having had less than 7000 miles. However, recently I installed some car audio components that has resulted in me tweaking the car's sound much more often via laptop. Due to the heat down in here in FL, I most often tweaked my system with the car running so that i didn't sweat to death.....seriously.
I probably have been idling (i.e., tweaking) for the past 3 weeks for about about 20-30 minutes every other day and my tanks have gone down significantly to a little less than 300 miles per tank (ie < 25 mpg).
So, while it is a no brainer to not idle for long periods, in my opinion it is especially true for our 2011 + Elantras. Curious to try a tank of gas with idling at an absolute minimal.
I've only had the car a month, and it's happened maybe three times now. I turn the key, and it takes twice as long as usual to start, about 5 full seconds of the engine cranking before it ignites. I think each time was after I had driven the car an hour or two before (when I'm heading home after an outing). Most of the time, the car starts fine. What's going on?
View 11 RepliesI drive a 2012 E, and this is not about mine. It's a buddy whom has a 2013 or 2014 (I think all of the fan hardware is identical). His fan stopped working on the three lowest settings, but still blows fine on the highest setting.
Perhaps resistors knock the current down for the lower settings and they have failed? Just a wild guess....
I just recently purchased a 2013 Elantra Coupe, and the Engine Start Stop button will not light up anymore. The small LED above the "Engine Start Stop" lettering still lights up blue or amber if it's in ACC or ON mode, but the lettering itself no longer lights up.
I'm not sure if it's supposed to stay lit while driving, but I noticed it started to flicker at various rates, and then eventually it stayed lit. Now, it's not lighting up at all. I'm wondering if there's a fuse anywhere that could be associated with this or anything I could check myself before taking it to the dealer. I haven't had a single issue getting the car to start with the button, just wondering what could be causing the lettering on it to not light up any longer.
I have 2011 elantra, front driver power door lock only works sometimes.
View 2 RepliesWe have a 2013 Elantra. This evening we washed the car and when we started up again, the heater / ac fan inside the cabin would not blow air. I looked at the fuse panel by the driver's left knee and checked the 3 fuses labeled 'blower'. They were all fine. There are a couple of fuses under the hood that are also labeled 'blower' but I'm not sure which of them might be the one I'm looking for?

View 5 RepliesRecently purchased a 2016 Elantra. All was working well with car. Now, all of a sudden, when I turn on car via remote start the heater isnt coming on like it did before. It wont turn on until I put key in ignition. I had to get a new remote recently and seems like thats when it started to happen, but I cant be sure. Is it possible the remote was programmed incorrectly? Or is it more likely a fuse or relay issue?
View 5 RepliesI have a 2014 elantra limited and have noticed heater issues. The heat never gets hot until the temp is set to higher levels. For example 25c /77 f is just lukewarm I need to set the temp up as high as 28c/82f or higher to get decent heat. Anything below 24c is like having the air conditioning on. It also seems to fluctuate at time, blowing warmer air and then turning cold. Coolant is topped up, no visible leaks i.e., nothing on the garage floor.
View 7 RepliesI had my car serviced a few weeks ago and realized that one of my Smart Keys (the one I was using when I drove to the dealership) no longer works with the car. It won't unlock the doors or start the car (neither wirelessly nor when plugged in to the dash). The other fob works fine. Are there any scenarios where a Smart Key fob gets rejected from the system?
View 5 RepliesThe DC Power/cigarette lighter no longer works. When I plug in a phone charger it lights up for a split second then goes out. This leads me to believe it is not a fuse because I don't think it would get any power at all...but I'm not sure and I don't even know where to look for the fuse to check it.
View 3 RepliesI pulled it out last week to fix my aftermarket reverse monitor, so when i pulled the console i tested the light make sure i didn't screwed up anything. Then it was turned on for 2 seconds and slowly died. Since then, none of the button work !!! no sunroof, no homelink, nothing.
I've checked fuse already, 27, 35, 36 I believe. i replaced them all, still not working.
My speedometer no longer works. A mechanic had the dash out but said I would need a new instrument cluster. However, as I told him, it started failing whenever it rained. Once the car dried out, the speedometer would work again. For awhile anyway but now it's not working at all. I'm thinking there's a sending unit maybe on the transmission that's faulty?
View 6 RepliesI guess this feature is standard in newer cars, but how to turn off that annoying beeper for seat belts and keys in the ignition? Perhaps there's a wire that can be cut.
After all, I know enough to buckle my seat belt and feel uncomfortable and unsafe if I do not. I don't need to be beeped at to remind me. Plus, I know when I leave the keys in the ignition and exit the car.
