It seems the drivers seat heater only works when turned all the way up. Could the switch be bad, or is there some kind of variable resistor that goes bad? Dunno where to start really.
View 4 RepliesFairly new to the ex. I just picked her up from the stealership last night, I'm in love! It's an 05 limited, v10, 71k. Loaded. Still tryin to figure out all the bells and whistles. It has one issue, I think it's minor, the drivers side power seat works intermittently, heat and movement. Being an electrician I believe it's probably a bad connection.

The seat heater module on drivers side went out and the back slider window leaks water bad when we take it through the car wash. Is this possible? We were told nothing of this when we purchased it from this same Ford dealer.

View 1 RepliesWeird seat heater issue on my 05 TAP/Ecru. Drivers side seat heater tends to fail intermittently after I apply leather care liquid on the seat. Does not happen on the passenger side. In winter, it failed for nearly a week before coming back to life. Yesterday it failed for the evening, then started working again today. Each time right after I applied leather care to the seats. Same amount applied to passenger and driver's seat and the passenger seat is always OK.
What is causing this ? Of course each time I go to the dealer, it is working fine !!!!
My son has a Jetta MKV and the seat heater button no longer illuminates. I assume there is a bulb in there.
View 1 RepliesI have noticed on my 2011 Elantra, that the heated seat no longer remains on. I turn it on, level 1 or level 2, and a second later it turns off.
This only happens for the driver seat, passenger seat works fine. Why this might be?
I just recently got a 2001 1.8t jetta. It was leaking coolant and only one fan would come on. Ive fixed the coolant leak. Only the passenger side fan comes on, and the AC blows hot as well. Ive checked the fuses on the battery and they are good.

View 4 RepliesHere's the situation: Just crossed over 30k miles and the Driver's side seat does not heat up. The passenger seat does work, and gets pretty warm when turned up any further than 1.
I did some searching and found some general info about similar problems in other MkIV's, but nothing specific to the R32 seats. (The warranty was for 4 years/50,000 miles, which ever came first, and VWoA will not cover our seats under the MkIV Recall.) Here's what I've tried so far:
1. Swapped switches - No difference.
2. Checked the fuses and verified that I have power to the switches
I tried to check for power at the Green connector under the seats, but got nothing for either passenger or driver's side. What should I try next?
If I check the resistance of the element in the seat, which wires do I need to check? Is there another connector under the seat I should check?
Heater works only on the passenger side, door,floor, defrost, dash. driver side blows out cold air from door, floor, defrost, dash. what would cause half the car to blow hot air and the other half to blow cold air?
View 2 RepliesMy power seat is stuck in the all-the-way-forward position. Seat has power to tilt and move up/down but will not move/slide back and forth. I am guessing there is a power cable that popped out when the seat was moved all the way forward.

My girl's B5 1.8T Passat (1998) has heated seats and only the passenger side one works. I guess when she first got it the driver side worked and after her older brother drove it around a few days it stopped. Fuses look to be ok, and I looked under the seat and the harnesses are all connected.

View 6 RepliesIn April of this year I had a large amount of water in the rear passenger area..Long story short it was the pollen filter..Dealership got it covered with my extended warranty, but yet I had to pay 1200.00 to replace the carpet..They also replaced the Control unit?? Wiring harness and housing...So, now fast forward to 2 days ago. I had a FLOOD in the rear DRIVER seat this time.I called to let them know and they said to bring it in Monday for emergency appt..My plan was to drop it off Sunday evening..during the night of rain we had Saturday I hear a god awful noise at 4 Am..My car is all lit up in orange lights.We had to disc the battery to stop the noise and lights..later that morning we got the wet-vac and hooked up the battery again. It started fine, but then all the lights went crazy and everything got all whacked out.
My trunk no longer closes...so we disc the battery and call AAA to tow to dealer..They just called me now..of course they need it for a day or 2 to determine the problem and see if it is covered! it damn well better be..they got it covered last time. I am beyond irate at this point. No doubt the car is in the same condition as before...main computer is obviously screwed up again..If they think I am paying 1 penny they are sadly mistaken..twice in 2 months?? Something is definitely hinky here..last time before they determined it was the pollen filter, they told me they cleared all drainage area and ruled out all that so they can't tell me that was the problem this time..They can't get clogged in 2 months when for the past 5 years I have NEVER had this issue.
Got a mk4 golf tdi 51 plate i have noticed water in drivers foot well.
Dried out the carpet and underlay siliconed the bonnet release cable gromet and the electrical box next to it. the drains on both sides under the scuttle panel are clear. 1 week later the water is back again i noticed when i washed the car that there was foam on the top of the scuff panel on the in side of the car and on the seat adjuster.
Is my door seal gone? There is no water anywhere else in the car just at the drivers side foot well. at the wear pad area under the pedals. 3 door no sun roof.....
