I own a 2000 Jetta GLS TDI 5 speed with 501,000 kms on it. The problem I have is the passenger seat back release handle broke off so there is no way to fold down the seat.
View 4 RepliesI tried to lower the back seat the other day and the right side handle that you pull up snapped off. I can't figure out how to lower the back seat with the handle broken. I've tried reaching down with a pliers to grasp where the handle was connected and pull up but I can't get it to work. How to fix this?
View 1 RepliesI have a 2002 xlt excursion. My passenger rear door handle is broken. It is the plastic clip that hold the linkage rod to the assembly (slotted) inside the door. I can't find a diagram to get a part number. Just not very technical looking things up... looking for a parts diagram or a part#?
View 2 RepliesI have a 2007 Sonata and the rear driver side exterior door handle broke. How to repair it? Does the interior panel need to come off? I see a screw under the pivot side and an interior bolt through an access port from the inside.
View 1 RepliesOn my 2004 F-150 (new style) the passenger seat belt will not release. What steps do I need to take to find the retractible mechanism in the back portion of the seat? Does one have to cut the fabric? I removed the head rest and the top portion where the belt rides but can't locate the retractible part.
View 3 RepliesMy power seat is stuck in the all-the-way-forward position. Seat has power to tilt and move up/down but will not move/slide back and forth. I am guessing there is a power cable that popped out when the seat was moved all the way forward.
2000 Jetta VR6
I Have had my 99.5 jetta for 4 years now, car drives straight, no tire wear issues, but from day one I have noticed by looking in the wheel wells of both rear tires that the r/s rear is set back further than the l/s rear, l/s rear looks centered in the wheel wheel and the r/s rear looks to be back further and not centered, no evidence of any rear damage from a previous owner, car drives straight as an arrow , I'm stumped, all four tires have worn even in the past 3 years.
View 1 RepliesSince I had my '02 I've had the child safety lock on the passenger side rear door on (active). I went to disable it (you know, stick the ignition key in and turn it 90 degrees to the side without the child's picture) and I'm still unable to open the door from the inside.
Everything else with the door works fine. The power locks work. Even pulling the handle twice pushes the lock button to the up position. And opening the door from the outside works as it's supposed to. The only thing I cannot do is open the door from the inside. Have I missed anything?
Upon putting on my winter wheel i was checking if the bolts were too long and my rear passenger side wheel wasn't spinning. I took the wheel off and checked the rotor and it took a lot of force to spin because the caliper didn't go back. I took the brake fluid line out hoping it would decompress the caliper and it did not, and brake fluid leaked out a tiny bit. This leads me to believe that my caliper is bad. Just want to make sure before I order another one

View 4 RepliesThis happened a few days ago, that the driver's side door handle does not release the latch and let the driver door open. we can open the door fine from inside. the remote key un-locks/locks the door fine. What I've tried :
- Slamming the door hard a few times,
- Pulling both the inside and outside door handles at the same time
- Greasing the latch mechanism on the door end (what hooks onto the latch)
Today I removed the lock cylinder, but from what i can see with the cylinder removed the door handle looks ok (no broken or missing pieces). What would be the next thing to do?

The passenger door of my golf mk4 is stuck after I read through the forums it seems that the little latch inside the handle has been super glued maybe the previous owner had problems with the distance of it. Any way I can remove the super glue? I will provide a picture to illustrate. it can neither open inside or outside. [IMG][/IMG]......

View 5 RepliesWe just bought our 2008 Elantra. The door handle just fell off. I have a warranty and have been trying to get the dealership which has been futile. The handle is plastic. I am tempted to just glue it. This is not the greatest first problem to have right after buying the car and bein unable to reach the dealer.

My key fits the door and ignition but does not seem to fit the trunk or the back seat lock that gives better access to the trunk. The fuel door switch works but the trunk release switch does not (no sound, haven't checked wires yet).

At about the same time my airbag warning idiot light came on! I changed my front seat. The seat change was no biggy, but I keep getting the airbag light! View 8 RepliesI have an '01 Santa Fe and love it, except for the fact that I can no longer fold the passenger side of my rear seat. We recently moved and I guess one of the kids put the rear seats back up and didn't think to make sure that the strap that goes to the latch release was where it belonged, because now it's stuck under the seat. Actually, I think it may be stuck in the latch itself. My sis (a proud '05 SF owner) and I have tried everything we can think of to free it - it was actually quite comical to watch - but no luck. We can feel the strap but we can't get a good grip on it and can't really move it. It folds under the seat right where the latch is, that's why I think it's stuck in the latch.
