I have 2013 f350 crew lariat 4x4 6.7 5000 miles . Cel coming on about 300 miles apart , 4th time now same code p054f ,dealer ship has no answers. Thayer say ford is investigating it ?? I don't about that but it is a real pain bringing it in.
View 1 RepliesI got a "P054F- Idle Control System - Fuel Quantity Higher Than Expected" this morning and again this afternoon. I did a search and the only threads that contain the code are the codes lists and one guy who got the code but no follow up. I found a few instances through Google, but almost all of them said the dealers just reset the code. It seems to happen in cold weather, which we are having. Both instances were in the same situation, remote start warmed up then short town drives. No CEL came on. Anyway, I reset it and I'll see what happens.
View 10 RepliesI just picked up a 2011 Ford F350 about 8 months ago. I have had troubles with the check engine light coming and going. Now it's been on for good with loss of power. I have had the codes read and they came up as the p0401 and a code about the def heater. I can not remember that code off the top of my head. After some searching I have found a video about the def heater but nothing about the Egr cooler/valve. Is there anything out there about how to clean and remove the the cooler as I will be needing to do repairs myself as the truck has no warranty.

My truck shudders bad between 50 and 60 mph. I have about 7,000 miles on my 2013 F350 diesel. 4x4, single rear wheel automatic. My truck has had this issue since I drove it off the lot. I replaced the tires and wheels with after market 20 inch wheels and toyo mud terrain tires, added a leveling kit and installed a K&N intake at 2000 miles. When driving between 50 and 60 mph with a steady pedal my truck begins to shudder. You can hear the noise coming from the intake, which is not the problem. The boost is registering almost no boost what so ever. The problem mainly occurs in 6th gear with no load or a light load. The entire trucks shakes.
Since I put more miles on my truck each day the problem seems to be getting worse. Not to mention my mpg has drop since I first got the truck from 18-20 to an astonishing 14-15. I took it to the dealer the other day to let them figure it out. They put stock wheels,tires,intake back on the truck for testing. They determined that the shuddering happens between 1400-1700 rpms. They told me they couldn't find anything wrong with the truck and said it was my wheels. They mentioned that with the stock stuff on it was less noticeable. They also said that with stock wheels and tires it went away. Which I know is crap cause I had stock on the truck for 2,000 miles if not more. Now this is a given for anyone who puts mud terrain or all terrain tires on their truck, MPG will suffer some and there will be noise and vibration. However, this is more than a vibration from tires. I have only owned trucks all my life with bigger tires and wheels on them.
I walked out of the dealership having to pay them money because they said it was due to my wheels. My wheels are 0.4 inches off from stock and my tires are the exact same height as stock just wider. Knowing a decent amount of mechanics and how to put my pants on each morning, I was not satisfied with their conclusion. I mentioned if it was my wheels and tires why wouldn't it do it all the time. It's not like I replace my wheels when I'm driving down the road. I believe that they couldn't figure it out so they said it was my wheels and tires to charge me for the time. Just yesterday I was driving on a long trip and it was shuddering, then the cleaning exhaust filter notification came on and the shuddering stopped. I noticed this and tried to make it shudder, couldn't do it. This reinforced my theory that the dealership is less than knowledgeable.

This may be very simple, but this morning I received "Change Oil Soon" warning. I had the oil changed at about 20,500. Current odometer is about 22,530. I am thinking that when the oil was changed the garage did not reset the oil life in the message center.
There may be something else going on that I may need to look at. Have not had a chance to get into the Owners manual as this happened 30 minutes ago on the way to work.
Every morning I walk out into my driveway and I see several pink drips under the front of my truck. I assume this is the antifreeze, its not tranny fluid.
View 14 RepliesI have a 2011 6.7 F-350 Diesel. I bought the truck new and I've never had any problems with it until now. I have a SCT Chip & Tuner. It needed an update so I returned the truck to stock and a code came up on my dashboard that said "reduced engine power" which obviously I thought was Normal because of the modifications done to my truck.
I updated my tuner and returned the truck to a performance tune but this dashboard code will not go away. My truck isn't reading any codes and there's no other indication lights on. The truck has Normal RPM readings but 0 throttle response. No power at all...
Adding this tank? When full if the mileage range display will show the true mileage to empty which should be 1000 +/- miles to empty? I know with the factory tank it was very accurate on my 2011 tk...
View 11 RepliesI have a 2013 F-350 with the 6.7L. I pull a 36' 5th wheel with a Swivel Wheel motorcycle on the back. So I'm pretty heavy. Plenty of pulling power, but going down hill, the automatic braking doesn't work anywhere near as well as the exhaust brake I had on my '96 F-250 with the 7.2L. Considering installing the BD Dual Vane Exhaust Brake. Looking for feedback about installing the BD DVEB. How well does it work?
View 2 RepliesI have a 2006 F-350 4x4 CC LB. I recently had my check engine light come on coincidentally on my way to the auto parts store. Asked them to plug in the scanner and read the code. It had around 20! This truck has 40000 miles on it. All of the codes were dealing with injector voltage being low. All eight cylinders. So I'm thinking ficm is going out. I replaced the batteries shortly after this. I driven it a time or two after this and it started cutting in an out going down the road. Seemed down a few cylinders for a few seconds and pouring black smoke from the tailpipe of a stick truck. Made it home after it did this there times. Stated it up to move it a few days ago. Some white smoke that clears quickly and ran rough for a few, pulled it in gear surged forward and died. I cleaned the EGR valve and re o ringed it. Tested the drivers side pin on the FICM and have 47-48 volts with key on and cranking.
View 4 Repliesi have a 2007 f350 6.0 and it was running fine. I parked it in my driveway for a couple of months and then went down one day to start it. The first day it started but the second day i went down it wouldn't start. it would crank but wouldn't fire up. I changed the oil, repaired the FICM and still got nothing. Then i took a generic scanner and got the code p2285. I replace the ICP but still no start. I have also changed both batteries. I'm not getting any codes right now either. What is going on?It has around 229,000 miles
View 11 Replies2004 F350 Lariat 6.0 Crew Cab 6spd... I just bought this truck a month or so ago has been a great running truck since. Before I got it it had headgaskets done, egr valve replaced, and new injectors installed.
Yesterday I shut it off and was setting up my scangauge and doing few other things and noticed I ran the batteries down to 7 volts. So I unhooked them and charged them seperately and cleaned the posts. Now today it won't start. Voltage shows 12.3 FICM logic and main both show 12v and FICM shows 48.5 and doesn't lower when cranking. CMP/CKP shows its not syncing and I am throwing a cmp sensor code. Its had the code since I got it and I've cleared it but always comes back. I've read its rare for a cmp sensor to go bad so I'm wondering if it sounds more like the wiring just seems strange its first time it wouldn't start and hasn't had any other problems.

Yesterday, while driving home from a weekend out of town trip, all of sudden lost throttle control. Just went to idle while at cruise speeds, could pump pedal and no response. Then got pedal control back and seemed to run normally.
This happened several times. Hubby suggested moving the adjustable pedal which I did slightly. Although I was not using the cruise control, we had a sense that maybe it was engaging??? So I hit the off button a couple of times. After these two interventions, drove the last 80 miles home with no further incidents.
Today, we checked codes and had a PO231, Fuel Pump Secondary Circuit Low. I don't think that is our problem with above based on research, but we will look into fixing that too. We are thinking TPS or a position sensor on the accelerator pedal. We could replace those easily ourselves.
I have a 2006 6.0 F350 that has started stalling intermittently. Truck starts right up after a few minutes and otherwise runs great. I'm getting trouble code p2617 (crankshaft position sensor). Reading on some of these forums it sounds like it could be a whole array of things causing this. Would this sensor be a logical place to start or what, if anything, should I look at before getting any parts?

View 2 RepliesMy 03 F350 lost the Brake Lights, and Code B1483 came up, which is the Brake Light Switch. Switch was replaced with new switch, with no change. The new switch was tested, and is working. The mechanic even replaced all the bulbs, which did nothing. The tail lights and turn signals work fine, just no brake lights. The mechanic even called the Ford Dealer in Boise, ID, and their service dept had no clue. What is everyone missing on this issue?
