Getting ready to take my Truck in for the Radio turning offt. About half the time I start my truck the radio doesn't play sound, it's on but no sound. If I touch it or change the station then sound starts to come out, is this normal?
View 14 RepliesSo I changed my oil with T6 and archoil and immediate miss at around 1500rpm then it clears up. I can stomp on it after that and it's fine. I know this has happened to others. My last oil change was also T6 and archoil. 2005 F250, stock, atlas 40, 216,000 miles.

Primed them by the book - key on 30 seconds 6 times
Now I have low pressure warning and reduced power.

Cant get fan belt back on? My pulleys don't look the same as the picture under the hood. I can see a idler on passengers side down low, but cant seem to make it move to give me some slack.
What kind of tool to use on idler to get slack?
Ok, so I have read on this subject and there are lots of posts about this being normal but why? What causes this? I have recently owned two 6.0's and neither of them had black oil even when I changed the oil! My last 6.0 a 2006 had oil that was nearly the same color out of the drain plug as the oil I was putting in! Why this happens on the 6.7.
View 10 RepliesI changed both fuel filters on my 2015 F350 6.7 I turn the key online for 30 seconds then turned it off for total of 6 times when to start the truck this morning after driving it yesterday and it took a little bit longer to turn over before it finally did, did I miss something up that I do something wrong. So I let my truck warm up this morning after going to start it at took a little bit longer for it to turn over I turned it off wait a few seconds then turned it back on and she started up how she used to perfectly fine does it just need to go through a drive cycle. This is the second fuel filter replacement nothing was wrong with the other ones I'm at 40000 miles now ... also it seems like the fuel filter on the frame rail is louder if you put the filter in upside down on that will it fit stupid question I'm sure I did it right but thought I'd ask before I tear it apart....
View 14 RepliesSwapped a new oil cooler and welded Egr shut. Truck ran fine the first 3-4 times I started it except for exhaust leak at the y-pipe/turbo connection. Tried to start it today and it started then ran real rough, blowing whit smoke. Now it will not start at all and blows whit smoke. The only codes I'm getting are egr codes that I've always had due to having the 05 and up intake elbow and the egr turned off via sct. What could be the issue?
View 8 Replies2011 F250 6.7 Had the fuel filters changed by the dealer today. No noticeable sounds when I left the dealership, & no fuel stops on the way home (120 miles one way). When I got home, before shutting off the truck, I heard a loud groaning/singing from inside the truck. With the truck still running, I get out, & the groaning/singing is very pronounced....never heard this before & appears to be emanating from the fuel filter underneath the truck.
I turned the truck off, then turned the key back to the position that the fuel pump turns on, and wow, the pump is very loud. Definitely something going on because when I turn the key for the pump to turn on but not start the truck, I can feel the vibrations of the pump working from inside the truck and when listening from underneath the truck, it is very loud. Before today, the truck never made this noise and never heard the pump before.
2003 6.0 psd owned two years driven 2 months due to money thrown prior to forums and scangauge 2. Bought truck in chicago drove home. Oil in coolant. Did egr delete oil cooler all gaskets orings etc. New oil filters motorcraft fuel filters .new rad fluod wix trtmnt. Truck started right up. Still had same intermitantstudder as always when cold. Always exp those sysyems until hot then here and there until parked then hot no start or hard long start when hot. Knew something was wrong and waited for it to come to a head well it did in may.
I was driving coming up to a stop sign and truck died like i shut key off. Refired once off ether. Lasted 3 seconds died no restart period didnt even want to just crank crank crank.
ok towed truck i thought it was injector orings. Changed them still nothing . New icp. New cpm. Now have icp of 66 to 120psi cranking.ipr 14.40 koeo up to 84 when cranking. Ive unplugged just get eratic reading ipr stays same. Checked ficm 47to47.5 cranking and koeo. No codes beside for my egr delete and when i unplugged icp. I've been tinkering on this truck for a couple years now still lost bit getting better. I now have driver valve cover off . Its a 2003 .
I have a 2004 F250. Owned it for a little less than 4 miles (186k on the odometer) .. The other day making a routine run and the radio goes out. Stopped to check it out and found I had no power windows either.
Made it home, checked the fuse on the radio and its good and the the power window fuse is also good. Put a meter on the terminals and have no voltage going to them. What I need to look at???
I've got a KR with MyTouch Nav with a real annoying rattle behind the MyTouch stack right between the volume and the passenger's temp. Any pics or guidance on how to remove that grey trim piece so that I can get some felt or foam rubber back there?

View 8 RepliesIt is on random times that after I fill up at a gas station, my truck decides it does not want to start. In fact 99% of the failure to start issues only happen after a fill-up. I am typing this now on just such a non-starter issue. Waiting 20 min and it fires right up. During regular driving, runs like a champ, great power good milage (for a 7.3) ...
I have tried random "tests" such as driving to the store, waiting for the duration of time it would take to full up my tank and it starts no problem. Anytime I try to make it happen I cant. The fuel filter is clean, CPS is new, the fuel pump is working. Don't know if it is a temp sensor thing sending wrong info glow plug issue, or? Ghost in the machine?
its 2002 7.3 with 125000 miles. I have had the truck for four years and this issue just started last fall (oct 2016). It happens infrequentaly enough to forget about it until it happens again.
Lately (within the last year) after about an hour in the truck my radio will make an electrical pop sounding noise and then the sound cuts out for about one second. The pop is not very loud. It will do this about every 15 seconds at first and then after ten or so minutes it's every 1-3 minutes. Doesn't matter the source, it does it on all of them. The volume is at normal (adult ) listening volumes. Interestingly the subwoofer does NOT cut out which points me towards the amp inside the radio. It also seems as if heat may be part of the issue as it takes a while before it happens. If I turn the radio off and wait 15 minutes and then turn it back on it will work for a few minutes and then start popping.
View 14 RepliesInstalled a 20'' light bar on my 2012 and when I turn on the Aux 1 uplifter switch my radio stations have static. This was not the case before the install. I have the hot wire tied into the Aux 1 (25amp) switch. Ground is run to drivers side battery ground. Do I need some kind of relay in line?

When Cold, and when I start out as I open the throttle, it suddenly sounds like there is not a piece of quieting stuff on the engine. I mean its like I can hear right into the engine itself.
I back off, It goes away then I dont hear it again for another Month or two.
Recently my brother in laws truck started making a buzzing sound while running and a much louder sound after it shuts off. Trying to track down the sound. Listen to the whole video because the end is where it gets loud.

Don't have a clue what's happening here or where to begin looking but about 20 seconds after cranking the truck ALL my instrument panel gauges go dead, radio goes dead (nothing on it's display) and my driver door controls all stop working simultaneously. Funny thing though, I can still see what the computer sees with my edge insight that's plugged into my OBD2 port and all those read as normal. The engine still runs and I can drive with no issues. My headlights still work fine as do all my signals.
View 4 RepliesWe just replaced an injector in my truck. Everything was fine, ran great, etc.
On the freeway home, the dash, windows, locks, radio all quit working. at first they'd stop and come back, stop and come back, etc. then finally they stopped. As I was getting off the nearest exit, the truck started dying on me. Once I got pulled over out of the way, it acted like the battery was completely dead.
After a few minutes of scratching my head and staring under the hood, I happened to look at the passenger side batter, and the crossover cable from the drivers side was broken off right at the terminal!! We must have broke it off while doing the injector. as I look closer at it, it had been broken before. Some idiot before me had actually taken a broken crimp style terminal, shoved it and crimped it into a new one and called it good.
I was able to redneck it back together so i could finish the last couple miles home. I fixed it properly with a new crimp terminal, heat shrink, etc. Why did the engine die with the crossover connection broken? was it because the series was not complete, and all the electronics were running off the battery(s) and not the alternator? I'm really confused. I've heard of people only running one battery before.
